why is everyone layying into siggurson? he has only just came from abroud and needs time to gell into english football and he is still young with a lot to learn!

i personally would play him as a impact sub , atleast intill he gets used to the team , language , and speed of championship football..

he is a great play maker! so there is life in the young kid

Cheer him on! boys and girls!

Some people have no clue about adjusting and think people can just instantly adapt. They forget footballers are only human.
That's why ppl keep on at sig.
Pathetic really.

I said on saturday that we would finish halfway this season, and after watching that display i maybe wrong. we could finish in the bottom half. away managers come down here and at half time they have worked us out they say to there players at half time play with width because there full backs come inside derby did it and now these yesterday did it.can anyone hand on heart say they went down the mol yesterday and was really excited apart from the two goals we were just average.

Must say that I cannot understand why on both home games I have seen this seaon we have played well in the first half and then when ahead stuck eleven men behind the ball in the 2nd half. We invite away teams to attack us and then expect to hold onto a slim lead for 45 mis or more. Frustrating or what!

^^^^The reason for this is because we have a losing mentality and the players are not used to being in this position. Do we keep going for goals or defend to try not to lose must be going through their heads.
We have lost so many games between Septermber 2011 and September 2012 it will take time for them to believe in their ability again but it will come.
By Christmas we'll be well and truly up and running!

Winning breeds confidence. If they know they can win without being at their best surely that bodes well?

Stearman has almost redeemed himself after tht performance and with a few more games like tht for stearman i think he will have a first team place over zubar

Foley is our best right back.

We need Foley back at right back or we need to bring another in! Stearman and Zuber not good enough. Paul Tamworth

I'd think Stearman should just be put centre half, and stick foley right back. In my Opinion that's our best Defence when you look at the players we have

Paul everything you post is negative. Start supporting who we have instead of moaning about 2 more players all the time!!!
Q

When I'm at the match I support our team 100%! But on this board I say it as I see it, and I'm not one of those Happy Clappers! Great 3 points but we are lackin quality!! Get your head out the sand! Paul Tamworth

Great result today, I thought Leicester were poor and if they are one of the favourites to win the league we should have some optimism.

I disagree about the defence today I thought all of them were ok, the midfield did not provide enough protection sake couldn't get back as his fitness level isn't there and Pesko is just too small.

The substitution of doumbia was strange and Edwards is never a left sided midfield player, so with Sao tired Edwards out of position ward was fighting a one man battle at times.

Did anyone else see Johnson rip into Sako who wouldnt go to johnson after he game, there will be another us and them if they are not careful. Why did they play he French national anthem?

As for the strikers, they simply need games and fitness seb will score 20 in this league
Doyle will score 10 to 15 and sig just needs games.

As for ss he needs a coach who understands the championship quickly, I hear mick Harford is the man..

We have to be patient and we had something we didn't all last season today...a bit of luck

You thought leicester were poor? Duno wht game u was watching m8? They cuda won it second half if there finnishing was better. I for one had a very nerve racking last 20 mins. Specially after konchesky scored tht screamer. Happy with the 3 points tho. Before i get accused of being a moaner! Lol. U.T.W's!

They improved a lot in the second half, but mainly because we sat back and defended, and we defended well too, they had a huge amount of the ball but only one or two clear cut chances, there only goal coming from a long distance strike. I thought we deserved to win personally, and there were good performances all round, they over ran us when Doumbia came off and fitness is a problem with a few players but things will improve. Defensively it was the best we have seen all season, and that is where everyone claims the problems are.

I think Leicester were poor until we tired. They are one of the favourites to win the league and they were no better than us. At the back they were poor. In the second half welt them come onto us and some strange substitutions didn't help. The defence held firm, how many saves did Ikeme have to make in the second half?

I posted earlier saying Doyle deserved a goal and then some wise nut replied asking what game I was watching? are you an.... or what he looks like hes playing with confidence and was getting into the the right places it yes he went down alot but most of the times he did it should of been a foul imo. Its supporters like you that are the dead weights to us real fans. Sorry for the rant but im sick of people putting Doyle down when he goes out there and does what fletch, jarvo and Judas wouldnt!

TDW {Ed011's Note - And Doyle got kicked up in the air at times and people were complaining about him falling over!

Can we not just support the team? The negativity and expectations will drive more away! I enjoyed the win, yeah it's not good for your health but makes it more exciting I love this league, two teams not full of multi millionaires having a go at each other

The fact of the matter is that Doyle is a class player but he cant partner anyone.

Either play him on his own or get rid.

We lack pace up front, we don't win enough second ball and also we don't close the attacker down quickly enough! Paul Tamworth

16 Sep 2012 19:35:50
Sorry but we need midfielders badly, leicester walked though midfield at will and had shots galore.

Thank god they got crap strikers or it would have been a bad score for us

Spot on ,it is midfeld where we have the main problems.Berra and Johnson were rock like, without them we would have lost that game. Our two stikers played well, but need better service. We our rarely in control and get out numbered,in he middle of the park.O'Hara might make a difference when fit.

The crowd nearly lost there rag at 1 point towards the end with sloppy balls all the time, that will get worse if its not sorted

Why cant people see it's our midfield that is the problem and not the defence. they walked right though it today

They walked through it because of the space between them and the back line, too much uncertainty between the two and communication is very poor if Henry is the captain RJ has to be his general to Marshall the defence, I think Stale has stepped off the possession football because we handle it like a hot potatoe maybe realised he was to far to quick and will introduced it slowly.

? nugent? and maynard are hardly what i would call bad strikers? nugent is good on his day and same with maynard.. they just cant work together

Maynard? Wht game was u watching m8? He's at Cardiff. Lol.

16 Sep 2012 18:20:46
I thought a lot of the players looked unfit and that was a factor in the 2nd half performance

Try not played for over two weeks and it's still early doors, they will get up to speed in the next 3 or4 weeks. DON'T WORRY.

Leicester also didn't play for two weeks and their players looked more fit

I guess that put the rumour about the players not being happy with how much training they are doing down the drain!

16 Sep 2012 17:05:50
I'll take the result all day against a team that i think will be top 2 or 3. Realistically we were very lucky and have got miles to go. Just as concerning was the 20.000 gate, i know sky were there but it's still not good and will not get better unless there is massive improvement. Good job you pocketed the money Jez cus your books wouldn't balance if this trend continues.

We were woeful and v v lucky today happy clappers wake up n smell the coffee we will stay up n that's the best I can say. Which team today will finish higher.

Support the bl£&dy team!!!

^^^ shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you clearly didnt watch it

One of Mad Micks mates me thinks, if you ain't happy stay at home and moan at the wife or kidds we don't need you at the MOL. WFE

Yes I did watch it!

The same as I watch every week, and with that I get behind the team

It's the boo-boys and moaners that make the players play with fear and make mistakes! You think the players don't read message boards? Support the team and encourage them instead of lambasting them even when we win!!

I'm away on holiday and watched the game among various fans not one thought we deserved to win and that we were easily second best, agree defence were heroic but on another day Leicester could have easily scored 5 or more, Doumbia Pezsko and Sako all faded badly I'm not privy to how match fit they are but I can only hope they will grow into the rigours of championship football. The pluses were Ikeme Johnson Berra and SEB who had his best game in a wolves shirt for a very long time,Doyle ran his heart out but still feel he gets knocked of the ball to easily and spends to much time on his backside and if Henry hadn't played it got have got embarrassing.im not negative but having watched wolves for over 40 yrs I am a realist. This is gonna be a long hard season I believe we have a team that could develope and excite but if the going gets tough we could have a team that could crumble.keep the faith wolves aye we.

With all the new signings it was last years boo boys who got us over the line Nuffield said had kightly Jarvis n fletch played we would have murdered Leicester but red kneck n posey have pocketed the money n ad you over again. For all you who have renewed fair play you are the lifeblood of our club to those who have voted with their feet you av seen what our club has become, hope you all are aware of Morgan's investment in redrow his only pride and joy.

Can't believe you could disagree with the above post leics were streets ahead tactically and if you took a fair reflection of the game we didnt deserve 3points.

^^^ So is this not a good thing? We can be 2nd best and still win? Just think how good it could be when we start playing well then?

Positivity makes life a lot more fun in all aspects. Try it you might find it makes you happeir!!

{Ed011's Full time review and Player Ratings - We always do it the hard way but we got the three points we needed. It'd be foolish to say that things didn't look shaky and we'd have to say that we were lucky to get the result we did but at the moment the ro be a crisis in regards to communication as the foreign players we've brought in try to mesh into the team with players like Doumbia speaking very little English the final result is the only thing that matters.

The other problem seemed to be with all the hoofing we were doing with the ball. This is something that time will solve but when things were going well in the first half where we were attacking this didn't seem such a problem but on the back foot things looked certainly confused especially during the second half, but this'll improve over time in my opinion as the players learn to play with each other. Another problem has got to be the hoofing the ball that we were doing but hopefully this too will be ironed out by SS, if all goes to plan we'll be flying by Christmas but we'll have to see.

It doesn't look like we'll be bringing in any players and I think this is a massive risk, Sigurdarson looked lost at times when he came on, this will go with more playing time but I'd be much more comfortable if we had another experienced striker in the squad and yet again Margreitter wasn't played despite Solbakken talking him up in the E&S, I think the team will come together given time but before it does it doesn't feel like we have a plan B in place. I'm staying optimistic though, I'll remind you all though that this is just my opinion on things not the truth by any means. I welcome a well reasoned argument but people looking to just call me a happy clapper and nothing else, well I'd tell you where to stick it but I've been warned in the past about what I've said haha.

Ikeme - 9.0 - Leicester's shooting was abysmal in the first half but whatever they could muster he had under control, collected the ball bravely and couldn't have done anything about Konchesky's screamer, Hennessey will have a hard time getting back in the team if Ikeme keeps playing well.

Ward - 6.0 - Not a bad game for Ward but the defence looked shaky at times, he got forward well and looked good to me in the first half but less so much in the second, I was in the North Bank and couldn't bare to watch at times so people may disagree.

Johnson - 9.5 - All credit to Roger Johnson he's gotta be an early contender for Player of the Season if he carries on playing like he has been, who thought we'd be saying that at the end of last season? I can't remember a mistake he made or a header he didn't win, again wasn't at fault for Konchesky's goal and I doubt we'd have conceded just the one if it wasn't for big RJ, my Man of the Match.

Berra - 6.5 - Not an awful game but again looked shaky at times especially towards the end, he's here to stay now so we'll just have to get behind him, he's not the long term answer though.

Stearman - 7.0 - Well taken goal and a decent first half and he wasn't awful defensively but blimey he hoofed the ball a few times and Ward wasn't innocent of this too. Would like to see Foley back in as I think he'll suit Solbakken's passing style much more but I felt more relaxed at times with Stearman than I have with Zubar recently.

Sako - 7.0 - I think Sako will take more time to mesh into the team, I think it's clear that he's a quality player and he takes a wild corner or freekick and if I'm right he got both the assists today. He struggled taking on the defender at times but I feel this will come in time.

Henry - 8.5 - Felt a lot more comfortable with Karl back in the midfield and it showed on the pitch especially in the first half when Doumbia was on the pitch with him, when Edwards went off we lost the midfield battle and were pushed right on to the back foot but I will feel more comfortable when we have a mixture of O'Hara, Doumbia and Henry in the middle.

Doumbia - 8.0 - He's brilliant on the ball, maybe the best we have with it, strong, great going forward and plays a brilliant pass too and linked up with Henry well again. We looked a lot weaker without him in the middle.

Peszko - 7.5 - Impressive in the first half, for a shorter guy he doesn't half battle for headers and to get the ball back, at the moment I'm still favouring him over Boukari for the starting position but they're two different players who will both more than cover the place left by Kightly (who I saw on the way into the ground with his family).

Doyle - 8.0 - Unlucky to score today but had a good game in my opinion, linking up with the players around him well, winning freekicks and corners especially in the first half. Looked a lot more like old Doyler and his form for Ireland will have given him a much needed confidence boost, if he can start getting some for us after the comments about staying loyal he's made recently he could be a real hero this season.

Ebanks Blake - 7.5 - A lot better from Ebanks, it's still clear that he doesn't have the fitness though, he scored a good goal and held up the ball well and did play some good football especially a skilful one-two with Peszko which eventually came to nothing but I get the feeling with SEB that he's lost it since we were last in the Championship but with some real, real hard work on the training ground he could find it again and score the 20+ goals we need him too.

Subs

Boukari - 5.5 - Didn't seem to get into the game after he came on and didn't seem to add much to the team, like the rest of the subs, I felt like we were weakened after they came on but I know they are decent players and couldn't really fault Solbakken with his subs.

Edwards - 4.5 - Seemed pretty absent in the middle and only weakened the midfield after he came on from what I saw. Doumbia looked like he was tiring in the middle and that's the only reason I can see for the change and for me Edwards really lacks consistency, maybe it was because he was thrown into a fast paced, gritty game but fell short today.

Sigurdarson - 4.5 - Attempted some exciting runs towards the end and did a neat one-two with Doyle where the ball ended up rolling painfully slowly across the face of goal before the Leicester defender almost knocked it into his own net but didn't get into the game at all. I'm hoping he'll get better in time but I'm sure Frank Nouble was watching thinking that he'd have done a better job.

Well written, I saw it exactly as you did but would also like to see less back passing when there is no need for it (Stearman ) was at it even when he was not under pressure. The only way is up !

As a certain someone might have said not too long ago "I'll wipe me gob and get on with it". Edgy stuff nonetheless. Too many players, especially midfield, guilty of unforced errors - giving the ball away, even when not under pressure. Could have had serious consequences today but we got away with it - just about. Think Stale is really going to have to work on this with the players - keep possession, cut out the stray passes and allowing the opposition to hit us on the break. Possession is precious. A boost for the confidence and something to build on, but a close call.

Was you at the match ..8.5 for henry ,he give the ball away and nearly cost us a few goals.. if that had been premiership we would have lost badly {Ed011's Note - Yes I was at the match actually and he was the Sky Sports Man of the Match if I am correct.

Sorry ed i have to disagree with you about BBS i think he looked decent when he came on BUT he did give the ball away cheaply when he tried to find sako n henry got man of the match {Ed011's Note - I really rate him and think he'll be a great prospect but there were times in the game especially just when he came on I thought he was struggling to get into the game.

If ikeme was a 9 ebanks blake was a 9.5 {Ed011's Note - In hindsight I did underrate Ebanks, he had a good game.

B******* you dont know what your talking abot ...its your opinion or nothing on this website ,,,go and F**k off {Ed011's Note - This is what I'm talking about, I asked for other opinions not this kind of thing.

I was at the match and Henry give the ball away and nearly cost us goals and what the hell was he doing with that short corner down the north bank end , that so amateurish it was unbelievable

How on earth can someone give 8.5 and 8 for our midfielders who were over run in the second half? And then only 6.5 for Berra. Didn't you notice all those blocks, tackles and headers that kept out Leicester? {Ed011's Note - I concede that I rated Berra too lowly, he didn't have a bad game. Doumbia was off the pitch when we got over run though so I wouldn't change his rating and Henry didn't have a bad game, I can't solely blame him for the collapse in the second half and I thought he had a good game.

Some people haven't got the brains to string a sentence together never have a sensible exchange of views! We were lucky today but take some the positives out of the game instead of the negatives, support the team it's early days and we're looking better already. Call me a happy clapper if you like - don't really care!

Ed, Doumbia's legs had gone for a good 10/15 minutes before he was substituted. He was not even tracking his midfield opponent, and got at least one rollocking from Johnson for it.I don't think he is a 90 minutes midfielder, and I think his best position is playing just behind a striker and then let him run at defences. {Ed011's Note - Hopefully this will change in time, he's only 22 remember and over the season we'll have O'Hara back to compete for a place with him.

Is it only me who thought Sigurdason looked so out of his depth when he came on this afternoon

Jesus, give the kid a chance'he's hardly played has he,he's been injured so he's shaking that off'he's not had a break as such, and he's got to adapt to the pace of the league and new team mates, what are you expecting in all seriousness....a ready made shoe in for every game,if the fans can't show him a bit of patience his confidence will never come....then you can blame yourselves for a potentially good wolves player going to waste.MFA

Don't agree I'd partner seb and Siggy! Def need defenders in quickly! Important 3 points today. Paul Tamworth

Completely disagree he looks like the one bit of something special we have, Real finesse the run to the goal and cut back was special, he just needs time to read game and get to grips with the pace of it and he could be a gem. Not bothered about physical attributes as he seems to have a footballing brain.

{Ed011's Note - To be completely honest today I'd have to agree that he looked out of depth but I feel that it was only because he was thrown into a full pace, gritty game at a difficulty he's not used to and I'm fully confident that he'll excel enough given time. Give him a chance!!

We will not get promotion with Seb and Doyle as our main strikers! Also new defence apart from Johnson or we will be mid table! Paul Tamworth

Im not worried about the defence , im worried about the midfield ,they cant hold a ball or string a pass.
Henry give the ball away too easy and didnt know how to put a ball forward ( same old story there).

sako looked fat and unfit.

Tongo looked ok

pez looked ok

Edwards is a waste of time.

The ball was going straight though midfield and defence were doing great to cope with it

Get some decent midfield in i say and please dont say Henry was the difference cos he give the ball away too many times and put us in trouble.

We played better today but it was like the Derby match at times.

Get some players SS before its too late

Henry was the difference

16 Sep 2012 15:19:06
Good game played well as a team bossed in the 1st half but lost the momentum in the second doyle deserved a goal. defence looked better with stears at RB. and to beat the promotion favorites should give the team a big boost roll on mid week!

TDW

Doyle deserved a goal ?

what game were u watching, he went to ground 9 times out of 12 when he had the ball in the second half lol

Yeah agree with that Stearman looked less shaky than Zubar recently, but still get caught out at times, will be nice to see Foley back soon.

Ward had is hard at times with Sako so attack minded, but he's an asset going forward so i'll let him off.

Good win but we were very lucky and is it only me who thinks Sigurdason was so out of his depth when he came on

Give the lad a bloody chance he's only played 5 mins. Moan moan bloody moan, let's give them ALL a chance or maybe some of you should go to Sandwell town. UTW

16 Sep 2012 15:17:21
No leadership at the back I still detect an issue between RJ and Henry and feel this is affecting communication on the pitch. Come on guys sort it out now,

The two best players on the pitch for me today mate, both did there jobs well and far as i can see, henry takes charge of midfield and what infront of him, and johnson controls the back line with Ikeme.

Agree about performance, Johnson has the harder job of dragging those around him up to standard. Solbakken has worked his magic on Henry time for ward zubes and Stearman to move on from Mick., I think the hoof stuff has been brought back by solbakken because his style is to far to fast. The improvement continues!

16 Sep 2012 14:17:02
{Ed011's Half time review - Good performance so far, Ikeme has been immense but Leicester's shooting has been a bit lacking. Good goals from Ebanks and Stearman. RJ has been winning everything as usual as of late but the defense has looked a bit suspicious as usual. Doumbia has been quality as ever and it's good to have old Karl back and Doyler has been quality as always. Peszko has been working his little legs off, Sako can still get into the game he hasn't been bad but I wouldn't say he'd excelled just yet in the game but I really rate him. I'd play the same team but bring Boukari on for Peszko later into the game and I still wanted to see BBS on the pitch as always!! 2-0 still COME ON YOU WOLVES!!

1st half good Football but......Clueless 2nd half, booted the ball all over the place, no idea at all, I feel we have gone 10 steps back from Mick's reign and we have got a long way to go, very lucky 3pts today.
Angry wolves fan. {Ed011's Note - 10 steps back?? Have to disagree with that, the teams played 5 league games together and although it was close towards the end we just beat the team tipped to win the league. Solbakken has made Johnson excel, we looked better when Henry and Doumbia were playing too. Give it a chance.

Second half report= shapeless rabble who even manage to give the opposition the ball from our throw ins and free kicks

Ed011- I hope u are right mate. {Ed011's Note - Me too

It's always a good sign if u play poorly and still win!

Anyone going to the Chelsea game
