Do fellow fans still think it's good times at wolves. the reality is were in a relegation fight. the question is are fans going to speak. the other question is who is to blame and are we going to ignore January was the perfect time to sign players we need to compete in this league. you can continue to call me negative for stating facts that some fans choose to ignore.

I think the cup run has papered over the cracks massively! My concern is why give Dicko, Evans etc new contracts when surely the end goal is promotion and these players aren't good enough! If we don't beat Chelsea the euphoria of the cup run will diminish and reality will strike home to a lot of wolves fans and Fosun! 18th in a mediocre championship is pathetic! Just look at our home form also! Is Lambert the man? The jury's still out with me, but he needs to sort it or he will def be sacked!

We're all fed up of it Wednesfield but you only seam to be happy when we lose.

15 Feb 2017 09:13:02
Relegation fodder. Will finish second from bottom snd relegated with Rotherham and Aston Villa. Could experience a double relegation to League Two by 2018. This is the weakest Wolves team ever.

15 Feb 2017 09:46:07
Tristan you weren't around in the mid eighties if you think this is the worst wolves team ever.

15 Feb 2017 09:31:37
I can see Gary Rowett coming in or someone of that ilk. The problem, as mentioned, is giving contracts to players like Evans or Price. If you have a team consisting of league one players, the inevitable will happen.

I thought the new regime was to improve the squad with quality, sadly the opposite is happening and us Wolves fans just can't understand why.

15 Feb 2017 11:51:09
Wavid don't you think we are in this position because we keep changing managers. The dross needs to be shipped out which will happen end of the season a few were moved on in Jan so expect a lot more in the summer.

As stated a. Umber of times the spine in the squad needs to be addressed when Costa doesn't score we don't either. Expect Chelsea to double up on him the weekend and we will have nothing.

Forum must be wondering what the hell is going on it could've be worse we could have bought everyone and still be losing like Villa.

Fair comment Darbo'giving long contract renewals to players that have consistently failed to deliver is the main mistake, managers fall out of favour'when they lead a struggling team, but all too often it's mediocre players that are to blame for poor results and performances'why these contracts were handed to the players who have been mentioned on this site before is beyond me, they should have had their contracts ran down.
Midfield is a huge problem for us, saiss and prince must surely have been worth a punt, I doubt they could do any worse than the ones who are currently in the squad.

15 Feb 2017 13:20:02
I think the biggest thing missing is a commanding CH who can control the line and push the team upfield. The gap between the lines when attacking are massive. I think Ibrahimovic would struggle to score in this team atm.

Only way we will improve is if Williamson can stay fit and then address this situation in the summer.

15 Feb 2017 14:09:40
Agree 100% guys we are in trouble we all know what the problems are and that's the spine of the team Ikeme, Batth, Stearman, Saville, Evans, Dicko and Bod, are all lower end championship players at best and to offer new contracts to these players in my opinion is a joke and doesn't show the ambition of a club looking for premier league football. On the plus side OMG what a player young Connor Ronan looks great first touch looks to play forward at all times and he's not scared to have the ball and for a skinny little runt he can hit a football as well.

15 Feb 2017 22:10:32
You have to laugh! We beat Liverpool away followed by a great away win 3-1 at Barnsley! Everyone's happy, Lambert's getting loads of praise, and there was some silly talk of the playoffs! Then 3, yes just 3, games later and it's all doom and gloom and were going down. Unbelievable!

15 Feb 2017 22:10:10
I honestly think Zenga would have done better than PL, only because he would have been picking the best 11 players (including Prince, Saiss, Tex etc) every week. The only problem with this is that we wouldn't have seen the emergence of Burgoine, Bright, Ronan and Gibbs White. Basically, you can't win.

Yes, it's all a bit of a mess, but it shouldn't take much sorting when yet another new manager comes in this summer, lol. In this case, I strongly recommend Rowett, who would jump at the chance. I get the feeling, though, that a nuclear bomb won't shift Edwards, Price, Batth and co.

I am getting fed up of people saying "why are giving Evans" a contract or "Dicko" they are not good enough and not the standard we should be signing.

Look - we are rich and have money to spend. Due to FFP restrictions you need to maximum every possible asset on the books. If we give these lads a contract we can demand more money for them when they are moved on for new, fresh talent. We cannot afford to let people leave for nothing (out of contract) or for a tiny amount of market value due to contact length.

Yes we are in a relegation scrap, yes the cup run is providing us a much needed distraction but stick with the team and Lambert. He is currently playing a style to try and keep us up. He has stopped our defenders playing out the back and wants them to hit a channel in order to fight for the second ball and play. I truly believe he will be asking NEW defenders to play out the back into midfield and keep the ball more.

This can't happen overnight and it won't happen with Batth and Stearman.

Patience guys, its tough and painful but we will survive and we will be a very strong team next year.

UTW.

Very sensible talk wolvesgeek. Totally agree. You've just expressed some of the things I mentioned on here a few days ago. It's difficult being patient I know as does everyone else. PL must be as frustrated as the rest of us at times. Whether he is the man for the long term, I would have to say time will tell! Whether he will get it is another question all together! I was and still am of the opinion that Silva would have done a good job for us. Just a feeling combined with his track record. Hmmm! ⚽️👍😉.

14 Feb 2017 21:47:40
Div 1 here we come, can't see where the next points coming from.

14 Feb 2017 22:55:58
Calm down mate, were not going to be going down. We will stay in mid table where we belong at the mo and hope that next season we can turn things around.

14 Feb 2017 23:23:52
Well said Wolves011. We ain't going down, we ain't going up. Lambert needs to overhaul the squad in the summer and bring in players who HE, not us, thinks can improve us.

15 Feb 2017 07:23:59
Only 6 points off relegation. 15 games to go. No striker has scored since August. I wish I was as confident as you.

15 Feb 2017 08:12:15
I'm. Confident we will stop up to
Stop being doom merchants.

15 Feb 2017 08:17:33
Having your two main strikers only scoring two goals all season, has got to be some kind of shite record.

15 Feb 2017 09:30:13
Wolves record home FA Cup defeat v. Derby 3-6 in 1933. Record FA Cup defeat v. Rotherham 0-6 in 1985. Record defeat v. Newton Heath (Man. Utd. ) 1-10 in 1892. Will they create a new record v. Chelsea on Saturday?

15 Feb 2017 10:19:04
We are by no means a great team at the moment, but we are better than quite a few teams in this league and we should finish just below mid table. We have enough experience in this league for that.

15 Feb 2017 09:59:16
Look at the core of the team - Stearman, Batth, Price, Saville, Evans, Coady, Edwards. 18th is exactly the correct position for a club with those players in it, isn't it? The saying 'you reap what you sow' definitely comes to mind when you think about the crazy decision to sign all of those up to long term contracts.

We go from one extreme, to another.

15 Feb 2017 13:02:39
Absolutely agree wavidsmith! All players mentioned are Div 1 standard
so why are we surprised we are 18th?
To retain these players is poor decision-making, no one wants them, so if we are down next year, fine, sign them for the season, it will be their right level.
We spend £20+ million on 2 wingers, exciting! and then retain these donkeys. what is going on?!

15 Feb 2017 14:51:23
Well at last, we Wolves fans all agree on one thing, and that is, why have we given these players long term contracts, when they are not good enough, although they play to the best of there ability, I'm afraid they are average middle to bottom championship players or Division 1 end of.
I would like to now who is responsible for giving these players long term contracts, and who sighned that Paul Gladon, whoever is responsible I would have them sacked, disgraceful performance last night no entertainment whatsoever, except the kid conor Ronan he was very good.
LAMBERT NO MORE EXCUSES, YOU THINK THESE PLAYERS ARE GREAT, YOU SAID YOU DIDN'T NEED STRIKER, SO ON YOUR HEAD BE IT.

15 Feb 2017 19:13:39
All the posts above are very valid,
But I do think Lambert is the right man for the job. I just think the job is a lot bigger than he thought,
We all want wolves players to do well, but to be honest everyone of them could be replaced at the moment it's just not happening.

15 Feb 2017 22:15:13
I honestly think PL's job is on the line and, sadistically, I want it to be as Gary Rowett is somehow still available. Let's all hope he doesn't take the Forest job in the meantime because we need someone like that so desperately.

16 Feb 2017 20:45:20
I like to see our kids come through and also think we have some good kids.
But what worried me was playing so many in a 6 pointer, when a more experienced side would of been bette, Evans and Edwards in midfield done nothing, said all along if you play Edwards because of is goalscoring exploits, then play him upfield or just behind striker, nobody else scoring up there, but
if these pair are our future midfield, then we can forget about promotion, they are just average championship players and realy thought we would be looking for a better class of players next season for the midfield positions, hope I am proved wrong but dissopointing in there long term contracts.
Defence same again makeing same mistakes, Marshall didn't look fit, and not a shot at goal against another poor side.
