TRANSFER NEWS:
Wolves sign Sheffield United Winger/Forward Owen Heather!
Owen Joins after scoring at the St George's park exit trials last week where he was picked up by Wolves scouts, He will play for Wolves U21s.

Our future has got to be about youth now. We should stop completely signing older over paid mercenaries like johnson and o hara. If we appoint a manager who is capable of bringing on our young players then I think our future will be bright. Now is the time to rebuild. The likes of hennessy, doherty, batth, mcalinden, sigurdarson, cassidy, forde, davis are what is going to get us back to the championship imo

Still no new manager we are the laughing stock of football

Wolves banter
how good is he?

Why are we a laughing stock were taking are time interviewing as many people as possible as both fans and club now this one needs to be the right choice!

Man City don't have a manager either; they must be the laughing stock of football too!

doyle to leeds

Does he need a lift. siewolf

Champions league football with Celtic or championship football with Leeds?

Good riddance

I will drive him there ir anywhere else away from the Mol

Does he need a lift? No, but you can bet your last bottom dollar whoever replacees him will be a far worse player. Down, down, down the dark ladder.

He has scored 27 goals in 135 games. 35-40 of those games are in the championship.

I'm sure we could replace him pretty easily

SteveBullStand - Rumour, Barnsley rejected league 1 club Wolves to stay and sign a contract at Barnsley.

Wow, that IS big news; Barnsley decide to stay at Barnsley. You really have the inside track.

SteveBullStand - *Barnsley Manager David Flitcroft has rejected League One club Wolve to stay and sign a new contract at Barnsley

U get the point. my computer is slow

Barnsley manager not even on the list of candidates for the job so he can't refuse what's not been offered

He didn't reject Wolves job. Wolves approached him for an interview to see if he would be interested and he wasnt, therefore signed a contract with Barnsley.

Already denied by Barnsley

SteveBullStand - Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths is keen to stay if wolves appoint owen coyle as head coach, this is because coyle knows Griffiths from the scottish links.

Coyle and griffths would both be good news for our team

You've got that right, Owen is a good manager and Griff is a natural goel scorer, with him McAlinden, and the other good youngsters at Wolves they won't be down long, and Owen brings on the youth with the experienced players, good luck to the Wolves, a big club on the rebound.
Franco.

Another player to look for, NI guy who plays for Inverness Caley Thistle, called Billy McKay, good hard working player who has an eye for goal, wouldn't cost the earth to get him and it would be money well spent, and he's young, not some old pro looking for a pay day.

Another manager people haven't mentioned is Stuart McCall. Just a thought.

Mr McWulf that is a very good idea, he's young has an eye for a player and best of all he's X Gers, you talk sense McWulf

Can't see griffiths being anywhere but hibs next year. Would like to see him get a chance at molinuex but he's loved up there from what I hear, and not so loved down here. Time will tell but I would already be searching for possible replacements personally.

Heard a little rumour that Keith Downing will be approached to be part of clubs new set up with the possibility of a joint head coach role.

Watch this space.

Well he's only carrying the balls at bags, clarke don't use him

Would be redundant at this club. Who in our set up has balls for him to carry.

E&S saying MM may come in for KH, KD & SW. Great news, frees up some of the wages. Best of luck to them.

He can't afford them they ain't got no money. P. J.

Maybe he can't afford them. But maybe also if no-one else comes in for them, we'll let them go anyway.

Cant just let them go, 2 of them recently signed loooong contracts!

Turns out Flitcroft reject us.

Can you blame him?

Garbage, he's Never been approached why do people come up with this Crap. PBM

He prob turned down an interview he hasn't been offered the job. Paul Tamworth

I luv the way you wolves fans talk when you here a new name for manager linked with your club doesn't matter how bad they are you suddenly think there the best thing since sliced bread lol that's you problem

13 May 2013 18:01:29
Who's going to want to buy failed players?

So our problem is because the fans think anyone we are linked with is the best thing since sliced bread! Nothing to do with awful decisions by a crap board or a mixture of arrogant and awful footballers throw in a few turds who have managed us recently. No it's the fans because everyone we are linked with is great.

Steve McClaren will be named the new Wolves manager on Wednesday.

For me, it's him or Coyle as they are the only real candidates with Warnock, Megson on the side lines

Both can do the job, both can develop youngsters and both play football.

Critically both have unfinished business so have a point to prove, as Wolves do in the eyes of many.

He has an impressive record but a disatrous one with Wolfsburg, Forest and England.

I'm intrigued by the idea of him being our Head Coach but can't help but feel in recent years he's lost his way.

Is he the righ choice? In league 1 most likely but at higher levels? It's still Owen Coyle for me.

He was good enough for Ferguson

Totally agree I'd be happy with either of those two!

Steve"Dutch"McLaren. lord no. this would be as bad as the Connor and Saunders appointments,
Looking at the e+s poll last week, Owen Coyle was the clear fans favourite'and by a long, long way, let's just hope that Morgan takes note and does something for the fans and the good of the club at the same time by getting the man in so he can start the rebuild

If we are looking for a really good coach then Steve McClaren is our man. Was coach at Manchester United and could work well with our youngsters. He as my vote

I'd be happier with McLaren than with some of the lesser experienced names I've heard. Not the man for the Premier but let's face it, that isn't our problem right now.

Learned his trade as SAF's number two. Good place to start. Did OK as Derby coach, and well at Middlesborough. Failed at Forest. Won't mention England.

I lived in Holland for a few years, and still go back from time to time. The Eridivisie doesn't really count for much. Its Ajax, PSV and a couple of random teams that changes from season to season (Feyenoord, AZ, Twente. ). His success at FC Twente doesn't really stand with me. Which explains his abject failing at Wolfsburg a season later when trying to play in a better league.

Yes he has experience, but his dull, route one choice of football and his constant walking away makes me say no thanks.

I'll get behind him if he gets the gig, but I'll be behind whoever gets it. Owen Coyle for me

Although I can't wait to hear him do "Black Country"!

"groyte eh eet"! Double Dutch at least

I would love to know why there seems to be this fascination for Owen Coyle.

He took a steady Premier League team with £10m strikers and high earners DOWN, he then failed in the championship and had them in the relegation zone before he was sacked. He is replaced by a novice manager and they nearly made the play offs.

His history of relegations and underperformance seems to go hand in hand with Wolves recently.

Say what you want but Steve McClaren is a former England manager who has also managed in Europe, and he wants to manage a League One side. We should feel priviledged to be linked with someone of this ilk.

You can forget Wolfsburg & Forest. His plan will be to turn us into a new Boro. At one stage he had a team made up of players entirely from a 10 mile radius.

Wolves fans are always crying out for local players coming through the ranks, this is the manager to do it.

Fantastic, I've said McClaren ever since Saunders went, he'd be a real coup for us. Megson would be a good shout, experience in the top three leagues, but Albion connection would make some fans unhappy

13 May 2013 08:10:25
Wolves are to hold initial talks with Steve McClaren late this week, though the best news is Neil Warnock has been ruled out of the job.

Yes, Neil warnock is bad news - how do you know he's been ruled out of the job?

Kenny Jackets on Wolves radar

Was Jackett really ever on the radar? It's not a huge coincidence that he resigned when Wolves got relegated. It's the end of the season, events happen like that.

Warnock is a great motivator, good manager. He'd have my vote. McLaren too grey.

13 May 2013 09:52:44
Is Steve Mcclaren being interviewed today as his odds are shortening alarmingly

As soon as manager was dropped and the vacancy became for a Head Coach I would say McClaren is now favourite. Before people start knockin him just remember what league were in? Paul Tamworth

McLaren is a disaster just speak to Boro or Forest fans if they appoint him all is lost. I can't believe how stupid our top people are.

Agree Paul, vast experience good with home grown talent, don't start knocking him he ain't got the job yet. P. J.

Id be very happy with Mclaren! First class coach regarded as one of the best a few years ago. He has lots to prove as do Wolves and this could be a ideal partnership.

Just ask Manchester United fans how good they were when he was their Head Coach/Assistant Manager. #trebble

Yes, he has experience and that's exactly what we need just now.

In some ways managers ride their luck, and McLaren has had good and bad times. Same with Mick, and he's managing above us now. McLaren is plenty good enough for L1.

Get real how much say do you think he had with Fergie in charge. His more recent form is worse than useless. If they give him the job it will be the cheap option because he comes with no backroom staff but they will need to sack him by Christmas

You talk rubbish. He's the best coach we will get in this league we find ourselves in. I bet you were one of the boo boys that said no to Bruce? Your clueless like moxey

Look at the positives! Utd haven't won the treble since he left! ;) Paul Tamworth

Before you start getting upset and name calling examine the man's track record his recent history is awful. Stop referring yo Man Utd. that was Fergies team Fergyes tactics

Lets not pull ourselves down with this we are Div 1 no-one will want the job. We have Premier standard stadium and training ground plus a first class academy the potential at Wolves is massive and this will be seen by all prospective candidates. We can attract good quality just want us to get it right

Hate to piss on your bonfires but Dennis Wise is 95% certain.

Any English man who tries to speak with a Dutch accent surely has a screw loose, and you want him as a manager?
