Am I the only person under the impression that Helda Costa is going to leave this summer? As much as I would love him to stay things just do not add up, spending 15m on Neves, the 13m we thorked up for Costa, new signings, loan fees etc. the talk of us spending 20m on a striker? We will almost certainly fall foul of ffp. Why have we signed Jota? Maybe Costa's going and we will sign Jota in January the same thing we did with Costa. Its actually a masterplan if you think of it, their is no way we can fall foul of the FFP rules that way, and certainly works in our favour. Also these rumours of Chris Wood for 15m! C'mon, that's ridiculous. Thoughts?

13 Aug 2017 22:38:11
20m for two strikers LOL.

13 Aug 2017 23:09:18
FFP rules are assessed over 3 years, ergo, any spending by wolves this season, plus the past 2 seasons, less revenue earned, the total loss must not exceed £5m per year average. Revenue earned includes prize money, such as the £120m if you get promoted to the premier league. Having spent very little the past 2 years and having a full molineux every week this season will help mitigate any losses.

13 Aug 2017 23:15:14
Interesting Manurhys.
I wouldn't say Costa has to go there are other players that don't fit in either at the minute. You could add batth, Edwards, Marshall, Doherty etc etc. From that list I mean that it's pointless having Marshall and Doherty. Batth has been found out. He can not pass 30 yards like coady.
The squad needs cutting. We have added quality apart from up front. Also certain youngsters will go out on loan to cut wage bill it's going to be a tidy bit of business from wolves this season. If 26m as quoted comes in from Chelsea I'm sure wolves would allow it knowing they have filled that void already or with another signing.

13 Aug 2017 23:21:50
Rhys - why does your name have Man U in front of it?

Jota is on loan as all Wolves fans know.

Maybe we are going to sign Lukaku.

13 Aug 2017 23:36:42
He's injured until November so won't be going anywhere.
Chris Wood is exactly that a rumour there's nothing in it, Fosum will get around ffp if they want they could easily sponsor the stadium with Thomas cook or something.

13 Aug 2017 23:44:22
You could have a point but no chance he’ll go this window, simply because there won’t be enough time to prove his fitness and get the kind of performances that would command the fee required (£20m+) . Its not impossible though that your point still holds with them intending to sell in January, as you say with the Jota fee agreed.
Mind you I’m not sure it would be as ‘necessary’ as peeps think, FFP are a nonsense and pretty easy to work round at this level. For a start the fine is at a percentage of any deficit so the board could just do what all other clubs do and ignore it for the season in the hope that they go up and simply sell if they do not? Here’s an interesting fact, until last season every team finishing in the auto promo spaces would have failed FFP (Newc were the first team to buck the trend through shrewd player sales) . Most clubs simply paid the fine out of the extra millions that Prem football bought or counter balanced it over the following FFP period with sensible transfer policy and the riches bought by the Prem! FFP is a nonsense, not because they shouldn’t be trying to control spending but more because it’s a broken system! Was supposed to make things fairer but if you REALLY look at the way it works all it really does is protect the status quo/ top four/ big teams…which is why all the established clubs were SO in favour of it!

14 Aug 2017 00:19:33
If we go up we will not breach ffp.

14 Aug 2017 00:40:42
We have many too move on, FFP works over 3 years, unless you go breaking the bank big time, yes we have spent, but we haven't broke FFP, we have many too move on, Lonergan, Prince, Evans, possibly price, even zyro may end up going, I think we are going to ship out some if not all of the above so gives us more spending power, prince will end up in France, and we may end up getting a good amount for Iorful IF he impresses 👌 Last comment for me. hopefully it is not any kids Ronan Gibbs white etc sold too bridge the gap 👌 wolves ay we.

13 Aug 2017 23:53:02
What have I just read?!? 😩😩.

14 Aug 2017 01:07:35
Are you off your head or do you just not understand how football works?
How will costa leave this summer if he's injured? How's he going to pass a medical? 😴😴😴😴😴.

14 aug 2017 01:21:06
we are fine with ffp! the neves fee is spread over 5 years. and no we are not going to spend 20m again those are just stupid rumours.

14 Aug 2017 07:04:18
To be fair winston nothing is stupid anymore. 200m for Neymar is a joke. Although I respect he's worth 40 goals a season with assists and goals no footballer is worth that money. Everyone's price has gone up by 2-4 million now that we would be looking at. I can see a further 20m been spent on strikers but we won't get the deal of it been split over 2-5 seasons by our rivals unless they are struggling with FFP.

14 Aug 2017 10:09:56
Who made you the finance director man u.

14 Aug 2017 12:27:41
It is normal to have two players for each position if you are a top club which we think we are atm so we have Jota Bright Bonatini as our attack but Costa Graham Cav Dicko can slip in same with our wing backs where Marshall and Vinagre can slip in for Doc and Douglas and Price and Edwards for Saiss and Neves

A couple more injuries and we will need some of these players.

14 Aug 2017 12:37:08
manurhys is wavid in disguise, spouts exact same opinion.

14 Aug 2017 12:39:59
Italiano.
Not a criticism, just an observation.

We brought loads of players in last year carrying injuries.

This year we brought Phi Fosu-Ayeh who has been on the treatment table since he arrived.

14 Aug 2017 16:45:24
George, I can tell you now I am not Wavid. I do not condone what he said about Carl Ikeme. Exactly what 'opinion' have a I spouted? Maybe I am right, Costa may leave, we may sign Jota permanatly as his replacement and copy this season after season. I just put 'my' opinion' out their, no1 eles'. Also, I have Manu infront of my name because I was a red devils fan as a kid, all my usernames were 'manurhys' I realised one day where I was born and bread and that my blood runs gold and black.

14 Aug 2017 17:13:16
If we don't get promotion jota and boly will b off that's why they r on a season long loan Nuno persuaded them to come in the hope we get promotion and sign them permantly otherwise they will b off.

14 Aug 2017 17:37:22
How much money will that PPV in China bring in? Apparently there were millions of purchases last year. Think what it will be if Wolves are actually a good team with appealing football and are near the top of the table.

14 Aug 2017 18:33:09
Ffp is over length of contract nothing else rubbish every club is breaching ffp man utd man city psg Chelsea villa Middlesbrough do I need to go foreign or do you catch the drift the ffp is to stop clubs who haven't got our chairman and money rubbish people do you realise we are the 6th richest owners in the business we can spend like utd city Barcelona Chelsea psg.

13 Aug 2017 21:23:07
Whoever the new striker is he will have to fit with Nuno's game plan. Unlikely to be a a British style unless we want a different game plan coming from the bench. I expect Oliviera or Soares. Can't see Chris Wood unless Paul daniels is playing a three card trick.

13 Aug 2017 23:18:43
yes, the plan is up and running now. there is no plan b because there is no need of one. you are correct to say that no British player will be added. i would more expect certain players to leave, especially those who can not adapt to this style. the one of the two you mention are credible additions, maybe another midfielder, but one thing is certain, they will be comfortable with the ball at feet and fairly intelligent in a footballing sense. the days of `the fox in the box` are long gone.

13 Aug 2017 20:00:48
Well it looks like Olivera is on his way, in the next couple of days, but I do not think we will get Rhodes and to be honest I'd rather have a loan striker in, who can be on the bench!

13 Aug 2017 13:47:44
Cardiff Shrewsbury and Portsmouth have all enquired over loan availability of David Edwards.

13 Aug 2017 15:08:50
Would have prefured mars, Pluto, or Uranus to have took you on loan to be honest.

13 Aug 2017 15:14:34
Two Strikers on the way then? 👍 Perfect.

13 Aug 2017 15:34:13
Get a job.

13 Aug 2017 15:41:59
Jonjo shellfish sent off lol what a great weekend.

13 Aug 2017 16:51:17
Surely u mean jonjo "I'm not a racist petulant angry dickhead" shelvey was sent off. This just shows what a low life he is after last seasons despicable actions. The fa should review last years decision and ban this moron for a very long time! 🐺🐺🐺.

13 Aug 2017 19:29:55
I wonder if the Fat Spanish Waiter will defend him again with this sending off.

13 Aug 2017 19:44:51
I lost so much respect for Benitez and Newcastle United as a whole for the way they defended him and bleated that his punishment was unfair. Apparently racism is fine up there. I hope they get what they deserve, week in, week out!

13 Aug 2017 21:10:44
On Nelson Oliveras Twitter account it says he is a professional footballer for Wolves!

13 Aug 2017 12:30:44
Wolves have lodged a 15million pound offer for Chris woods includes players as part of fee thought to be Danny batth and zyro.

13 Aug 2017 12:52:38
I'm told that wolves are at Norwich watching Oliveira today. Team sheets have just come out and he's on the bench. It is believed that we are monitoring the situation and that we are very very interested in signing him.

13 Aug 2017 13:01:32
He's back again. who told you it this time your brothers wife's friends husband?

13 Aug 2017 13:04:34
Paul LOL.

13 Aug 2017 13:35:28
In other news I've heard that Molineux is to be re-named as the P-mow stadium (Portuguese men of war) and that Sir Billy Wright's statue is to be replaced by one of Eusebio.

Of course I could just be making it all up.

OODCL.

13 Aug 2017 13:40:59
Woods also being monitored by several Prem clubs and probably as for us he's not quite what we need now, that boat has sailed.

13 Aug 2017 13:44:09
Gallagher not in Southampton squad yesterday!

13 Aug 2017 13:48:56
They not going after Chris woods it's Jordan Rhodes and nelson oliveira there after they haft to b careful of ffp rules trying to find a way round it.

13 Aug 2017 14:03:52
Rather get fletcher back than Rhodes more of a target man and that's what we need if Leo gets injured.

13 Aug 2017 20:13:08
Fletcher will never be welcomed back.

13 Aug 2017 22:35:14
Don't see why not fans keep banging on about how much they want afobe back what's the difference.

14 Aug 2017 12:29:54
Paul Daniels you are making things up again.

13 Aug 2017 11:55:09
"Wolves plotting £20million swoop for TWO strikers - if they can find a way around Financial Fair Play Wolves' top brass fear they might fall foul of FFP regulations if they sanction a huge splurge on the pair.

The Molineux club fancy Sheffield Wednesday's Jordan Rhodes and Norwich City's Nelson Oliveira.

But Wolves' top brass fear they might fall foul of FFP regulations if they sanction a huge splurge on the pair. A summer of heavy-recruitment has already seen them splash out £15m on Ruben Neves.

And a host of other signings have pushed up the club's outlay.

BB.

13 Aug 2017 12:50:49
I think this is half true.

I can see us in for Oliviera but not Rhodes due to Mendes.

I would be happy to see Oliviera down here and I like his attitude.

13 Aug 2017 13:03:13
Oliviera not in starting line up.

13 Aug 2017 15:23:34
We have only spent 19 mill so far. get bath price and even zeko and dick to get Rhodes and Oliver in.

13 Aug 2017 16:23:03
We only paid a fiver for neves just copied the following article from the72!
As well as the two teams who may not be willing to sell, Wolves may face another obstacle in getting these two strikers at Molineux. With the club already spending a lot of money this summer, most notably £5 on Ruben Neves, they could end up being unable to sign either of these players due to Financial Fair Play. So if they want to sign both players, they will need to work out a way around these rules.

13 Aug 2017 10:29:58
Wolves will not pay loan fee for Gallagher.

13 Aug 2017 11:38:33
Where was that info from? Debie McGee?

13 Aug 2017 11:42:03
Yeh read it in paper this mornin, they want 1mil and us to pay his 22k a week.

13 Aug 2017 11:44:02
