I would think that, if a deal is bubbling, there would be some sort of public statement by now. The reason being that an exclusivity/lookout period is generally needed to allow both sides to do due diligence. This would give a buyer first refusal for that period to prevent gazumping and time-wasting. A substantial cash deposit might also be demanded before the books are opened.

Paul : yes that would be the brother's aim if all is ironed out before.
Big wolf : don't have a clue he is ceo of a record company and supposedly a wolves born fan . It's supposedly a London team but my source wouldn't go any further in to it than that .
Deepthroat: I gather it'd all more complicated than that but the club would only grant exclusivity once both parties are happy with the deal in place . Like I said I am only passing on the info I have been given sometimes it's given to me a bit vague but that's just how it is . I trust my source been right more than wrong.

Steve Barnett is a multi millionaire CEO and chairman of Capitol records ( the second largest on the planet) and has made a career out of taking smaller record companies and making them huge ( Epic, Colombia, etc. ) . He has a business philosophy of 'speculate to accumulate' and a track record of attracting the worlds top artists in order to create a snowball effect with other top names following suit. He is very very successful at building businesses and was born in Wolverhampton.
Glenn Hughes was in the band Deep Purple and has worked with Steve Barnett for decades. Glenn is s long time friend of Robert Plant and was born in Cannock.
This is a genuine attempt to take control of the club but Morgan wants to retain a % of the club but I'm not sure how much.
This is not the first time this group have contacted Morgan but it has accelerated since he threw his dummy out the pram. Expect news next month either way.

Morning All.
With reference to the comments below following my post on Tuesday.
As with before, there is a wall of silence coming out of Molineux, but interestingly I have also heard (although not via a club contact) roughly the same as one of the posts below, that the Reuben Brothers representatives have made tentative first enquiries and that they are looking to invest HEAVILY into a football club, I must also state at this point that I have heard that they have made the same enquiries at Leeds and an unnamed Premier club. Again linked in with a previous post I have heard that the Reuben Brothers are not just interested in owning a club, they want to own a club that is challenging for trophies and playing in Europe. And will pay whatever it takes to get the club there.
As always, I reiterate that this is just rumours, and I repeat, I have not heard this from within the club.
But it opens up lots of thought processes and certainly gets the spine tingling. Could it really happen to a club like Wolves? It is a well known fact around the footballing fraternity that Wolves are seen as the BEST option of all the clubs that are available to 'buy' at the moment. And that has to be a big factor.
Initial enquiries are one thing and are of course a long long way away from purchasing, but who knows.
It is very hard not to get excited and ahead of ourselves when these rumours start to fly around. If I here anymore, I will of course keep you all informed.

So basically, nothing new then!

Leeds and Wolves are both sleeping giants, although Wolves have been sleeping for a lot longer than Leeds! Either club would be a good punt but Leeds have the trickier owner. And, the Leeds ground is not owned by the club.

If the Reubens are interested in getting into Europe as quickly as possible, West Ham would be a contender, and the draw of London with the world class Olympic Stadium would be unbeatable.

I think it's easy for us to think we're a great club but harder to convince too many others. In the last 40 years or so, not many have been in the top flight. Yes, we go talk about Stan Cullis and Billy Wright, but a lot of clubs can probably point to a glory period too.

The problem as I see it is that investors look for clubs in big cities. Easy to buy in to London, Liverpool and Manchester and to a lesser extent Birmingham (in the form of Villa, B'ham's owner has let them down) and Newcastle but investors from outside of the UK probably haven't heard of Wolverhampton.

What we do have is a good fan base and a nice ground, and maybe that will tip the balance. We won't get a Man City or Chelsea deal but we should be looking at the Villa and Leicester deals as a realistic outcome. Other city clubs have potential. Leeds needs more investment as does Portsmouth, Southampton has worked well but Bristol and Sheffield would be better off if they merged their respective clubs!
