Just seen Stale picture on the
Internet Looks a real Hard Case
soon as Johnson and Conner to
Railway Station the better .

Johnson quoted everywhere as 'not knowing who this guy this'...don't worry Rog, after seeing Stale sorting out Pep Guardiola you will know him very soon if you carry on like you have this season!

Disrespectful - bet he doesn't know who Johnson is either and hopefully he won't be finding out.

Johnson , Zubar & Big George all admitted to not knowing of Stale.I bet Karl Henry is delighted that Johnson is the boo boy favorite now.It will be interesting to see if he has the balls to stay , or if he is even wanted by the new manager. {Ed013's Note - It may work better the players not knowing him, fresh start and no buddy, buddy attitude. He will get the best out of them}

Problem will remain buddy buddy TC..can see a few bitching get togethers to undermine the new manager. We are all aware of the attendees!
TC has to remain long enough to do the formal intros and guided tour then clear off and the back stabbing band of brothers within the team should keep their cake holes firmly shut, tow the line or sod off too!

Time to give Johnson another chance me thinks.
He did great in the first 3 matches but jealous eyes from the Henry click undermined him can't you lot see that. It must be hard when you got a jealous click having ago at you behind the scenes.
Henry got his armband back in the end but the damage to wolves was already done.
All Mccarthy's and Connor's fault for not sorting it and making that Henry click.

Johnson would probably be a better player under Solbakken.
Wasnt just Johnson who was having a hard time Guedioura and Hammill were to from this click. probably more players suffered as well what we dont know about

Agreed ed013 , MM clearly had his favorites.

I think johnson could be the best defender in the championship

Think he could develop Danny baath, wouldn't be the first player to gain redemption if he wants it himself, incidently could this appointment convince Jarvis and Fletcher to stay,

I must agree with the above post regarding roger Johnson. the Henry click made it as hard as possible for him to settle in to the club. at the start of the season we all wanted wolves to sign him. so lets wipe the slate clean. new season. new manager . and a new captain. i vote for o"hara

Disagree Guys, I have a family member who knows one of the Wolves Board very well. Apparently Johnson is a problem and due to this they tries to sell him in th January window but his wife did not want to move away from the area. It is also true that he turned up to training totally p****d having driven himself.
Compare that to captaincy done by Jody Craddock and Karl Henry.

The johnson situation is deeper than we think but to be honest his performances were poor im interested to know if he wants to prove people wrong

I am not saying he should be captain. but with a new manager everyone should start with a clean slate and then it"s up to them to prove themselves

Ties in with everything that's been reported. If he has had problems he can't have been very professional dealing with them. However, Mick didn't, help by making him captain and putting a massive weight on his shoulders and upsetting others in the squad.

Readin the ens website I can't belive the fans are slating him already he hasn't even took over yet just cause it wasn't holloway big same Houghton ect how do they no he could accually become a ledgend n lead back to the glory days

Couldnt agree more to the above comment.
Not only has he won Trophies something Holloway and Hughton have never done (apart from Championship play offs) he has managed a victory over UTD and a draw at the Nou camp not bad for a so called not big name.
just think if he can bring your next Solksjaer, Schmeichael, tore Andre Flo, Larrson, Limpar, Mellberg with him, dirt cheap players who all seem to excel in the English leagues. I for one am excited.

As long as he boots Connor away from 1st team then he will be a legend already

Lets at least give him a chance for crying out loud.

We are thats what were saying but some people are not also to add to the 2nd post he drawed at chelsea n man city at least one of the legs

Im just over the moon we got a manager who will change things and knows how to win....
Just dont like TC hanging around like a bad smell waiting for his chance again.

Fans will like solbakken just give him a few months to settle

Yes, one advantage for us fans is that this guy has no baggage. Who had heard of Arsene Wenger when he arrived at Arsenal? (Or Martin Jol or maybe even Jose Mourinho?)

Ill admit i never heard of any of em untill they started doing well

Agree with all the above. Young, hungry, and relatively successful. At least give the guy a chance. Those idiots slagging him off should pop down Sandwell Town instead

Exactly time to look forward and be positive

Proud to be wolves again - we have hope now. Bring on the new season!

Just hope all you fellow wolves fans wont jump ship if the first five games dont go exactly how we want ?? come on the wanderers..

Haven't jumped ship during this abysmal season so not going to next season either. We are wolves!

A pretty good endorsement from Roy Hodgson today.

Best news I've seen today.....according to DM......Shef Weds want Roger Johnson. Tara mate! On yer bike!

I do hope this is true, i wonder if they would like some more of our dead beats. maybe buy one get one free

It's in the sun too.

Really hope this is true. It was Roger Johnson's fault we got relegated due to his carp defending

Everyone is blaming Johnson for this relegation, im sorry one man cannot come in and be a one man army. management say we need 2 CB and a LB and dont sign them our defence was a shambles before he came please people open your eyes. yes he came in 'worse for wares' at the beginning of the week which would not affect the following match but he has been treated like s***e by this club and some fans. how about we ditch the click and build from him rather than slate him, seems like we re the only club he has not performed at?? wherever he goes next season he ll show what we have missed out on.....say something.....

^ what are u on h been rubbish all year and treated badly! are u from human rights? how is coming into a club an bein given the armband bein trated badly he does not care about this club from day1. ill drink when i want ill drink when i waant i am joger johnson ill drink when i want... say somethin........

I couldnt agree more ,,Give johnson a chance he had no chance with the Henry click on his back and Solbakken doesnt sort that click out he wont last long either cos Connor will be waiting to jump in again.

What chance had Johnson got with likes of stearman, berra and some of the other numbskulls around him, bobby moore would have struggled with that lot around him

Ill pay 4 his taxi

Two above posts spot on.....enough said.

Give johnson a chances,, he shined at birmingham and cardiff,, too many people were quick to blame him for this season,, the fact is the whole team were not good enough! theres only 2 players i can say played well this year and that is fletcher and hennessey! times to stop slagging out players off and getting behind them!!

Written on wrong post. Ill buy johnson a beer for the journey my self

But Roger Johnson was your saviour early on in the season,an inspired signing, a brave move by the board, just like your new manager,i wonder what you will be saying about him this time next season ? fickle fans.

It was totally rogers fault we are relegated although bassong and berra have helped. he should never have been given captaincy and should have been got on loan with option to buy. we are never gonna get that 6 million back

I agree with someone being given a chance, but as "club captain" he's never said anything, basically ignored the fans all season, and his body language all season ahs been one of "I don't want to be here". Since he was on Soccer AM and basically said as much I think he lost everyone at the club.....and never recovered. You reap what you sow I'm afraid. I've slagged him off all season because of that one comment, and frankly think he deserves it. I'm prepared to give anyine a second chance but he's got to come out with something pretty massive to win people back over. Of course its not just his fault we were relegated, there are 25 players in the squad, bt I do think his attitude as "captain" was a joke, and that is where all the fight, camaradery etc went. He NEVER led by example. Ince, Robson, Keane.....even Craddock....all led by example, both on and off the pitch, giving him the band was a disastrous decision, sorry Mick but that was your downfall. Evene when he was asked about the new manager, all he said was "never heard of him". well i'm sorry but as "club captain" should you not have taken 5 mins to find something out. Your wife is on Twitter all flippin day so get her to do it, took me 30 secs. from what I can tell he will soon find out who he is cos this guy does not look like he takes any cr*p....from anyone.

Rude of mr johnson ill bet you rog ss has never heard of you is it right what we think of you or do you care ?

100 percent spot on comments. Accurate and balanced.

This is the only club johnson ahsnt performed at? he sent birmingham down with scott dann, now wolves and blackburn have gone down, now tell me thats jut a coincidance?

Wolves to appoint Stale Solbakken as their new manager

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/10/wolves-stale-solbakken-new-manager

Brave and inspired Anew beginning?

Good appointment. I'm very surprised though because Stale is a no nonsense manager and may get himself into a lot of bother with the FA. he wont tollerate un-rulely players so some of the current squad may end up leaving. Take a look at how he handles reporters on you tube.....

Ill buy him a beer for the journey aswell

SSN reporting Solbakken to be appointed today. Seems good to me. Downside tho....Connor staying on as No 2.

Wolves got promoted twice while TC was asst manager. He knows the players and club inside out.

Trying to be positive:

I know there is a lot of negativity towards TC but you must agree that a manager coming from overseas will need some sort of continuity at the club to ease the transition. Solbakken may also be able to direct Conner and the team in an improved manner that could reap rewards on the pitch.

Hopefully TC will prove to be a great coach behind a more positive manager.

Connor has done aright over the years as No. 2 - we accepted the promotions - he just wasn't right for the manager's job. I don't blame him so I guess he should stay unless the new man comes in with "his team"

Can't some of you give TC a break. He was put in a horrible spot having to take control and he genuinely loves the club, that's blatently obvious from his TV interviews.

Good news about Solbakken...Exciting times ahead I hope.....I not sure but I think I read somewhere that Terry Connor is the most qualified coach in the country..If this is the case maybe he will shine under a new manger...Who knows....let's just get behind them all ready for the new season.....peace out......

From what a friend has told me he wont tolerate Connor not pulling his wait.

Wolvesinsidersidekick

Wolvesinsidersidekick

Wait for what? What wont Solbakken not tollerate TC pulling? You've got us all on tenterhooks, let us know what to wait for!

Weight lol that's what happens if you type whilst half asleep lol.

Wolvesinsidersidekick

If TC is still going to be hanging about the first team then nothing will change ,,,solbakken will be undermined by those clicky twits and you will all be calling for his head,
for solbakken to have a real fighting chance he as to bring his own back room staff in if not then we are wasting another year or so cos soon as Henry loses his captains armband the trouble will start.

I hope solbakken works cos he looks like a nutter so should fit in

Im sure he would do a great job for but there is that click in the squad that needs sorting ,,,he looks mean lol and i hope breaks some heads ..Come on solbakken lol

New broom etc. Maybe exciting new ideas and exciting football.

@earlier poster- TC got Wolves promoted twice, yes. He also got Wolves relegated twice.

Anyway, lets hope a Solbakken/Connor combo will bring us some joy.

I dont think tc will be no2 but a part of the management team

I think TC days are numbered now ,watching him tonight on central and he was nearly crying again, pathetic it was

Come on solbakken lol {Ed003's Note - From what I have seen he came across very humble and seems to love the club,he might not have stepped up to the mark as manager but to call someone who shows emotion pathetic is rather harsh to say the least}

No sorry i got no feelings for him and to say he loves the club well pfffff
13 years he as been hanging on to people's coat tails .it's clear to see he can't get another job or no one wants him.
he is not wolves ,he never played for us ever and if he really did love wolves he would not have tried to get the job.
A job which he totally out of his depth and would have done real damage to the club

Lay off tc - you can't knock the bloke for trying. Move on now.

Get in the real world,
This is Wolves we don't take fools gladly, This is not the social services.
Get him out the club

Absolutely no change of getting rid of TC. TC is Jez Moxeys brother in law! He took the job on knowing he would be staying come what may. The new guy just had to accept him. The thing I would say though is that I have it on good authority that despite not be the most charismatic of guys he is gold and black though and through!

Whats with all ther negativity against connor? he was thrown in at the deep end and had a go!! brave if u ask me cos we were a mess by the time mccarthy was sacked!! some people need to wake up to reality!!

10 May 2012 23:40:57
Solbakken named by Wolves tonite at 10.pm as their new manager. Lets hope he gets it right.

Why Connor staying in any capacity the team are competely stale under him he must go f anyhing is to chance. I now our plyers aren't the best but they are cluelessthanks to TC

Ss needs tc to bed in you should be looking forward to the next chapter tc as manager is finished get ready for next season wonder who he will bring in ?

Direct from the guardian website. Is it true. Sounds good to me.
Stale Solbakken will be the new Wolverhampton Wanderers manager. The 44-year-old Norwegian, who was sacked as Cologne's head coach last month, held talks with the Midlands club on Thursday and will be confirmed as Mick McCarthy's permanent successor in the coming days. His task will be to secure an immediate return to the Premier League in the wake of relegation this season.

The appointment comes as something of a surprise, although Solbakken had an impressive record with FC Copenhagen, where he won five league titles, before he moved to the Bundesliga last summer. He is expected to watch Sunday's final Premier League game, against Wigan, leaving Terry Connor, the interim manager since McCarthy was sacked in February, in charge at the DW Stadium. Connor is likely to stay on at the club and return to his assistant manager post.

Solbakken's 12-year playing career, which included a short spell at Wimbledon during the 1997-98 season, came to an end when he suffered a cardiac arrest in 2001 during a training session with FC Copenhagen, when Roy Hodgson was his manager.

We may have to be very patient with our new manager it may take a season for him to adjust, the complete overhaul isn't looking likely as TC staying. Brave decision Steve I applaude that but give the man his own back room staff bring on our youth and a DOF to let him coach, you said changes not change. Optimistic you bet! not because it isn't TC

On the BBC this morning. Don't know anything about him but I'm 100% behind him. A new dawn and a great opportunity for us. Glad they have moved so quickly. Of course, it could be just a rumour!

10 May 2012 23:22:28
Solbakken now trending on twitter. Lots of papers reporting its a done deal and will be announced next week.

10 May 2012 23:19:05
The Guardian's twitter has just said "Wolves to appoint Ståle Solbakken as their new manager".

The mirror has said "Stale Solbakken is the surprise new boss at Wolves.

The Norwegian has been confirmed as the permanent replacement for Mick McCarthy at Molineux by the club's chief executive Jez Moxey.

Wolves owner Steve Morgan has promised the 44-year-old significant funds to build a side capable of returning to the top flight after their relegation to the Championship."
