It's nearly that time of year again when we all think we're the manager, so who would you keep/sell/buy?

From the 1st team, I'd sell Kilman and Doherty.

I'd reintegrate into the team after their loan: Mosquera, Chiquinho and Guedes.

I'd loan out Chirewa, Fraser, Chiwome so that they get experience.

Sell Podence, Fabio, Sasa, Bolla, Hoever, Cundle and Hodge.

See if Enso is ready and add him to 1st team if ready, if not sell him because if after 2 years he hasn't adapted, he never will

I know I'll be shot down for this but if possible, buy or loan Eric Dier.

This would give us: Bueno, Bueno, Toti, Dier, Dawson, Semedo, Mosquera and AIT for defence.

Gomes, Lemina, Doyle (if bought), Traore, Bellegarde, Chiquinho in midfield.

Cunha, Guedes, Sarabia, Hwang, Neto and Gonzales in attack.

No need to break the bank and a much stronger squad.

I'd sell Neto love him to bits but he can't do a full season, Silva if we can, Doherty, Guedes, Bellegarde he just isn't all that i'm afraid.
Agree with getting Dier in has experience and would fit our system nicely.

21 Apr 2024 14:53:49
Good post Jas and I must admit that I've had the same thoughts.
Not sure about Guedes, his attitude when he was here was atrocious.

21 Apr 2024 15:58:28
Guedes does not want to be at Wolves, never did in the first place, no way back for him, get rid.

21 Apr 2024 17:46:47
I'm not saying he does want to be here but if Gary can convince him that he could thrive here, I'd keep him. He's doing well at Villereal.

21 Apr 2024 18:43:02
Can't see there's any way we'd sell Doherty as he's got another year on his contract and is bound to be on more money than any other club would pay him.No way, in my view that Guedes could be integrated back into the fold and, in any case, he's a bit of a wimp and the Premier League is just too physical for him.
Unless I'm in a time warp, Enso has only been with us a year and is still only a teenager, I think, so it's very early days as yet.
Chiquinho is interesting as he was treading water with Famalicao but had an excellent end of March/ early April but his form has tailed off again. O'Neil certainly needs to take a good look at him.
We obviously need to strengthen in many areas and it's going to be an interesting summer. Don't think we'd get the money we'd want for Neto because of his issues and reckon we'll probably have him for another year and if recruitment is good you never know.
Silva should go, but who'd have him? Seems to have blotted his copybook in Glasgow.
My money is on some left field acquisitions as many well known expensive players don't seem to able to cut the mustard in WV1.

22 Apr 2024 10:06:34
Solanke of Bournemouth and Mcneil of Everton if we sold neto and ait nouri.

We would finally get that goalscorer we've craved since jiminez head injury.

18 goals for solanke this season I believe.

22 Apr 2024 11:15:02
Can't see there's any hope of either of them, Phil.Solanke would be too pricey and McNeil would probably be dependent on a Toffees relegation which seems unlikely.

22 Apr 2024 12:33:04
One can dream Old Wulf👍

22 Apr 2024 19:34:34
Well we've already sold RAN to both Liverpool and Man City according to media reports.

22 Apr 2024 22:01:37
Likewise, Kilman will be turning out for Newcastle and Spurs next season while Neto will be running down the wing for Liverpool and Arsenal.

23 Apr 2024 07:31:12
My estimated transfer fees we would get.

Silva 5million plus add ons
Podence 7million
Belgarde 5million
Neto 50million
Ait nouri 50 million
Hodges 4 million plus add ons
Sasa 5 million (if lucky)
Bolla 3 million (figure just plucked out the air)
Cundle 3 million plus add ons.

23 Apr 2024 07:33:09
Ps,
Kilman 30 million

Sa 30 million if sold to Saudi league

21 Apr 2024 13:06:40
So it’s been stated on here earlier by Jas that it’s not the clubs fault for all our injuries and I agree with that, however I would also add, if we had invested in 4-5 more players who added quality we could have rotated the squad more, and maybe cut down on the amount of injuries we have, especially from overplaying and pushing out players too much. In that case it is the clubs fault.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2024 13:37:27
A few things. If we had invested in the additional 4-5 players we'd be facing a points deduction and also maybe retained JL to satisfy his ego and sweet shop mentality. Yes the squad is much too thin and this should hopefully be recognised by the hierarchy and corrected in the summer where we'll be in a much stronger negotiating position. Finally we can't just blame Wolves for overplaying our players, remember all the African/Asian cups, international friendlies etc where our players are flying all over the world, different time zones etc. All this takes it's toll too. Hwang hasn't looked the same player since he came back.

22 Apr 2024 17:51:03
Vbwolf, we need more income to do that.

No problem with tonight's performance and result. I'm much more disappointed at Worcestershire's bad day against Durham at Kidderminster. Up the Wolves, up the Pears.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2024 07:12:10
I think a better performance than most expected, considering the patched up team.
Some individual performances to take comfort in.
Bueno some good blocks, interceptions and clearances
Joao Gomes getting better and better. A great midfield effort. Plenty of tackles, carried the ball, driving through the centre constantly
Traore thought he had a great game.
Doyle first half particularly, was the leader on the pitch. Excellent distribution
Chirewa a very good start to his career!
So well done Coaching Staff in shuffling a restricted "Pack"!

21 Apr 2024 13:21:02
Full credit to GON for a highly creditable result against all the odds. Under a previous coach we might have been embarrassed. If Gary gets the support he deserves in the summer, we may be challenging for Europe next season. I've mixed emotions about the Wembley semi today, as we should be been there, but with just ten fit outfield players it would not have been fair on Gary. Wembley can wait.

21 Apr 2024 18:54:16
I feel exactly the same Deep,
But feel better with Coventry's display nearly winning it from being 3 nil down.

20 Apr 2024 23:22:22
Always going to be difficult. 2-0 flattering scoreline considering the amount of possession and shots at goal by Arsenal. The depth of the two squads was evident, no comparison when you look at the substitute bench. It would be good if Wolves can win their next two home games.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2024 07:10:15
Doubt we will Lindsay as the amount of injuries we now have to key players is unsustainable. 10 players available is frankly shocking.

This coming window will be pivotal
for me.

21 Apr 2024 08:26:50
Hold my hand up., I didn't expect a performance like that considering the circumstances, so well done the players, proves we are together
Regarding recruitment. I believe it when I see it and if we get any players, never mind who we would like

20 Apr 2024 21:44:50
Thought the lads did well all things considered, first goal was a fluke goal, second a rebound.
Given our injury situation the lads out there played well and can hold their heads up high.

20 Apr 2024 22:38:30
Too right.

21 Apr 2024 13:05:57
Sa. near post again. it was a patricio failing aswell.must be a portugese keeper thing.fair performance but we wer never going to score anyway

20 Apr 2024 20:28:35
Not a bad first half but it’s so obvious we have no outlet in the final third. Sa has also given me a heart attack on three separate occasions when passing it to Doyle when he had two men on him! Nothing to lose 2nd half. Let’s push on and frustrate them. Unlucky Gomez, would have scored on a different day.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2024 21:42:38
Far far better than I imagined we would be. As you say Vbwolf we obviously had little up front chirewa who I thought did well, was looking a couple of times but we wernt going to risk it. Some poor knocking around at the back and Sa always concerns with his taps around. Some good positioned saves and then let's his near post open at the end. 2-0 rather flattered them in the end. Better than expected, let's see what we can muster against bournmouth.

20 Apr 2024 11:27:38
Tonight is not going to be pretty so trying a old tactic as most times I bet on a team other than us winning they lose.
So going 9-0 to Arsenal, Saka first scorer, 3+ corners each half, 40+ booking points at 350/1

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2024 15:10:49
Would have thought you'd get a wolves win for those odds rated lol. Seriously I'm getting more confident about a decent showing tonight anything would be a bonus, even only 3-0 would be a result. Hope your bet dosnt come off of course but if it did at least I'd be happy knowing you'd got the dosh. But COYW.

20 Apr 2024 20:24:08
Not too concerned after that first half, shame their sliced goal went in at the time it did but if we've got 30 mins of RAN sarabia and lemina I think we could get back into it. Arsenal do look tired. Chirewa doing well after early nerves. COYW

Will Jurgen Klopp Leave Liverpool On A Whimper?

For next season, I think GON has already intermated that Mosquera is part of his plans. A couple of new strikers should also be coming in.

If any one player was allowed to leave for decent money, I would allow it to be Kilman. He's a good player but Dawson makes him look better.

Our midfield looks fine, but I think 1 new defender and 2 strikers are needed.

The money from the sales of Kilman, Doherty, Podence, Chiquinho, Guedes and Silva should provide us with the required funds.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2024 02:18:46
Many will dislike me saying this but I say cash in on Neto too if we can as we never get a full season out of him, sadly he is too injury prone.

20 Apr 2024 07:06:16
Is Hoever still officially on our books? He's another to consider

20 Apr 2024 07:15:38
Regarding Kilman, I have to agree, he was good or looked good when Coady was beside him too. When it was him and Collins they weren't a great partnership.

I agree on Jas's comment on Neto too, what's the point in a player with consistent injuries? Neto is a fantastic player, be he's just too injury prone. Plus we have his replacement in RAN.

We need strikers, that's painfully obvious. Cash in on Fabio Silva (no offence against the guy, but it just didn't work out, and I'd wish him all the best).
Sasa Kalajdzic is just too injury prone, he'll be back but for treatment, will be hard to cash in.
on him.

20 Apr 2024 07:50:00
I get all your posts. As usual
Hope our manager doesn't walk, due to lack of backing. Like others have
That's all
He has done brilliantly, but so did others.

20 Apr 2024 08:27:06
Neto I think is more difficult.

On his day, he is one of our best players and the one considered a shoo in to sell, however, as he's very rarely fit for long periods, who will buy him?

Would you pay top dollar for a car you know will always break down.

I would much rather Kilman leave as he can be replaced easier than Neto. Look how we've struggled without him.

20 Apr 2024 10:29:21
Well back to tonight, it's being suggested we'll be starting with 15yr old Okundo (sorry with spelling etc) not sure his position but I can't see us starting with him, good news story though. We've also got lembanksi (again sorry for the obvious) to come back to us next year. I think your spot on jas re Neto, although is somebody offered the millions it offset an awful lot. Kilman needs a mentor and with the right person to organise is very capable. Maybe being captain as been too much for him? It's the bleeding obvious again isn't it, striker/s and central defenders. If samedo leaves then maybe full back as well. It's going to be an interesting summer.
Tonight I fear will be a ordeal to watch but I live in hope of a decent performance no matter what. Dunno how rated will formulate a bet.

20 Apr 2024 15:21:12
I suspect if a better than expected offer came in, most players could be available, exceptions would be Cunha, Gomes and Lemina. Obviously the ability to replace anyone leaving is key.

20 Apr 2024 15:21:47
In addition to the player sales mentioned, we should sell this 'wonderkid' Enzo who we paid £5 Mill for. As I've said before if 15yr old kids are getting on the bench now before this guy, then IMO he's not going to make it at Wolves. Cash in and put it towards someone who will play.

20 Apr 2024 20:32:33
The thing with Neto is if he goes to a champs league team he will be part of a club that literally have two-3 players in each position. They will be able to manage his time better so they can pull him off after 65/70 mins and rest him if it is needed. We pretty much have to start him every game as he was one of only a few match winners that we have.
