New sponsor is definitely not a gambling Company, one year deal and no mention of how much it’s worth to the Club, more undisclosed deals to follow, no doubt.

Hope so Greyleg, ok it's an U23 match against Liechtenstein, but his critics tend to forget that he's only 19 so early years in his development, especially in the Premier League.
I've got a feeling that next season we'll start to see why he cost so much.

Robbie Keane. Wayne Rooney. Ryan Giggs. Walcott. The list goes on. Priority for me is getting a striker in then loaning Silva out. If he flops then sell.

Raging, non of those had to adjust to a new country and culture at a young age. Back with his own culture and age group he scores a hat trick.

I'm a Fabio fan and I believe he will start banging them in, however let's just keep in mind who the opposition is

Can't really score if he isn't getting the service from kmidfield Raging mate.
Imo there lies our weakness the midfield sideways and backwards play needs to change.

I agree with Rated, we need to be more direct. We seemed to start the season with intent on attack, but it soon faded as Lage realised our back line can't play in a 4. I am interested to see if MGW stays and whether he can up his game to prem, as he is the sort of player we need, just not sure he has the quality. Hope I am wrong as he deserves the chance.

Agree both rated and camo. I think bruno sees MGW in his team but as you say is he really upto it? Definitely would like to see a more direct approach, our try and open em up approach hasn't provided much and the amount of balls that went across goal without a gold shirt in there frustrating. An attacking midfield getting up behind the front runners essential and I think MGW could fill the gap in a 442.

Think youll find Keane is from Eire. I'm sorry he's been here long enough. It's ruthless at the top table. I've sat on the fence long enough being diplomatic with my opinions. My real thoughts are he is a really nice lad but complete rubbish. The reason he hasn't gone earlier is the owners want to give him a lot longer because of the outlay paid on him and don't want to lose face. Shocking player. You've all got your heads up your arses if you think he'll get us top 6.

Sorry I disagree, mate, but value your thoughts,?, he will get there, think he was put in,a year too early,
So this season he will start to score, mark my words, then the season after, top scorer.

As you've mentioned it Raging, Ireland to the UK is hardly a culture shock is it?
It's not down to him at 19 years of age to get us into the 'top 6' that would be the job of the more experienced in the squad and my head is just fine where it is thanks.

I think he will come good myself, he bulked up a bit last year and worked harder, I see him staying a while longer yet

We all have seen what Silva has done since he came to us and no one has a crystal ball to see in to the future.
The next 2 seasons will give us all the answer.

Greylegwolf I love your optimism and hopefully i'm wrong as we all want the same thing, a successful team. I just don't see it with him. Sorry. :/

Silva looked so much better last year, despite limited game time. However it is impossible to judge given the lack of service and our inability to play higher up the pitch and through the lines. The running off the ball was to no avail, as 90% of the time our attacks turned around and recycled the ball. I thought he looked the part when linking with Podence in and around the penalty area. Unfortunately they didn’t happen too often. I think he could play similarly with Neto and would like to see what we could achieve with all three playing together. Need to be backed up with a more progressive midfield and a more mobile back line, who are also able to play higher up the pitch.
Do we have the players to play this way. With perhaps one or two incomings, I think we do but they are not all automatic picks for the manager, or certainly they weren’t last season.
