Well, regardless of whether we sign anyone or not in the last 2 hours, I'm still going to back the team and squad. We don't always get what we want but our love for the club will never die. COYW

Absolutely - we may not agree on everything, indeed I expect we disagree on quite a lot regarding how the club has been run since Dalrymple, Thelwell and Nuno left, but on this we are as one. I was at games in the old Div 4 with a few thousand and would still love and back the team even if the unthinkable happened and by some catastrophic series of events we ended up back there!

I've said it all along mate don't expect much this window as we're still under ffp restrictions, these get lifted in the Summer then we'll see fosuns hand.
Ofcourse the Tim Speirs brigade have gone into meltdown lol.

Remember those days only to well in Div 4. Gates of 3000 plus.
No worries about social distancing then!

Well this transfer window had proved that now is not the time to buy unless you're desperate. Dele Alli for £45m, Dan Burn £13m, the Brazilian to Newcastle for up to £65m after all bonuses etc are paid.

Let's pray we don't get any injuries as we are lighter now than before the window.

How are we lighter. We had one 1st teamer leave (Adama) and one like for like in (Chiquinho).

If you don't accept that we are weaker, with the leaving of Adama, than we were at the start of Jan, then you really are deluded. How it will affect the team, who knows. But YES, losing Adama has weakened the squad. I'm sure Bruno and any of the players would think the same

I think/thought same as Rated all but I kidded myself we would sign sanchez but saw for definite a no go as Traore wasn't sold but loaned with option to buy.

Think we are lighter if the young winger is not ready for 1st team which I think is most likely he isn't but we will surely find out the rest ofvthis season.

I have the assumption we are gearing up for next season and season after to be exactly what everyone wants 2 quality players in every position challenging for success at top of table.

We have Neto and Jonny to come back from injury and Hwang too that's quite a strong squad it will be hard to even make the bench

Sharesum, I admit that Adama is a better player than Chinquinho and in that respect we are weaker. But a few weeks ago, many fans were questioning what Adama brought to the team as he had no goals no assists and Sat on the bench most games. Since then he scored 1 goal. Although I loved him as a player and the sheer excitement he gave us fans is unquestionable, in the grand scheme of things, he didn't really give us much this season. Also, it appears that Chiquinho has been written off before he's even played for us. This is despite Bruno Lage wanting him having watched him come through the ranks in Portugal.

With Hwang, Neto and Otto, back, Saiss returned we have a decent squad with a great team spirit. I can't help but see the next couple of seasons as the ones to really test Fosun's ambitions with an improving squad to build on. Sometimes I think the January window is for the loonys with panic of missing out setting in and clubs unloading make weights. I followed Wolves from East Kent at the end of the 50s and trawled newspapers and annuals for stories of the greats. Have seen them at most of the southern clubs and made the Mol many times in middle age and in later life when I could afford the trips. Now I find the 6 hour trip difficult, and the chance of a ticket a bit like fairy dust, but the love never dims, 4th division and all.

In one sense yes the squad is weaker. A lot rests on this new lad we haven't seen yet, and where Neto is at when he is able to play again.

In one sense it's completely mad to say we shouldn't be pushing to get a top 6 spot given where the club sits currently. My understanding on FFP isn't great, but I believe a top 6 finish puts us back under UEFA eyes for at least another 3 years meaning if the club is in Europe the financial restrictions are somehow tighter. If that's the case, missing out on the top 6 this season may not be a terrible thing, and we have to remember there are lots of strong sides competing up there so it may not be a gamble that pays off.

After the disappointments of last season, mainly the dead atmosphere for the games and the at times dreadful football on show, this season was surely one of hitting the reset button post Nuno and post (ish) pandemic. If anything we're currently over achieving and it would take a dramatic collapse for our Premier League status to come under any threat this season.

The summer is possibly a chance for Fosun to play their cards, but I wouldn't expect it to be a summer of bliss. There is always a chance of at least one top player moving on, and there will always be the issue of trying to attract better players than what we already have especially if we can't pay the stupid wages and transfer fees some other clubs are paying.

I believe that this is the first season in Fosun's era that they haven't broken our record transfer fee, but most clubs at our level are tightening their belts.

There are ups and will be more ups, but there will also be occasional steps backwards and disappointments. Less than a decade ago we were in the same league as Walsall and a division below Yeovil. Enjoy the ride.

Weaker, we are for now. Need really good fortune on the injury front, especially before Neto’s fully fit for return. COYW
