Top four became top three yesterday, a Champions League spot is up for grabs for the Club that’s ready, willing and able to bring a couple of top players in at the START of January, interesting to see who’s got the ambition.

Interesting post Oxley,
Imo I see West ham and Leicester the 2 along with man utd as 1 of the 3 I say will finish 4th.
Utd have the players and squad to bounce back from yesterday's day of disaster.
The rest fighting and I think arsenal and spurs are top of the rest.
For us I think lage needs another 2 windows to get the players for our squad to be complete.
I think round about 10th finish is where we are at this season.
Anything higher absolutely I will take that and always the chance of the fa Cup.

Agree we won't go down and I'd happily take 10th this season. The way we played against Leeds it was as though Bruno didn't trust the midfield, and I can see why.

There was less playing out from the back after the sloppy passing against Villa, but the midfield still gave the ball away a lot and seemed unable to create anything. It makes me think Bruno made the decision to shut up shop and park the bus because he knows the players we have in the middle can't play as he wants them to consistently and risks putting pressure on the defence.

If we get signings Lage agrees on with the recruitment team in January we will be obviously better but the big 6 plus west ham and Leicester that leaves us, Everton and villa I think either finish 11th 10th and 9th.
Think anything is possible and how the table looks at Christmas you have a better Idea how the table will finish.
Also palace under PV needs a close eye on.

See what you saying Akex and can't disagree.
I thought our front three too isolated mostly Traore we need our attacking players to have the ball more so they can do their magic.
Podence being great impact sub Traore cross podence inches away from tap in and his shot from sa throw out.

I got it wrong I think podence came for Traore.

Agree Phil the front 3 were isolated. We need that midfielder in the squad who can link up the midfield and attack, run between the lines and overlap. There are plenty of them about so hopefully we can get one.

Anything is definitely possible. It's one of the main reasons we love football so much.

AlexWolf. I'm not sure there are many of those midfielder about we've only been crying out for one for eighteen months at least. Maybe Jeff Shi will come up with one in the next window. We can but hope! Oh yeh and maybe the center back we are oh so desperate for. I certainly hope so the team are so close under Large to becoming very good let's hope we don't waste the opportunity!

I'd be happy if we sign sanchez in January he looks like a midfield player you mention Alex.
Imo we are not far off of being a top Premier league side a work in progress.
We haven't looked like we're not a premier team that's my view of what I have seen this season some may disagree and I understand how we played against villa and leedz wasn't our best but we have a good team spirit and fantastic support home and away. with this breeds confidence and positivity.
I think aswell we will only sign the right players and it may take longer to get them so I'm prepared not to be too disappointed if we don't find and sign the players needed.
The youth out on loan if even 1 of those makes it to be a top regular premier league player for us would give me the most delight of being proud we developed them and made them a top top player.

Ken I think we've struggled to recruit because what we need is a player capable of playing Champions League football, and those players are hard to attract right now.

There are a few good youngsters at the club at the moment. It would be good to see a couple get some minutes for the first team. It's a shame the U23 games aren't played closer to Wolverhampton. I'd like to get to a few of them, but Kidderminster is a bit of a trek.

Phil, I really thought MGW was being groomed to fill a role in front of midfield behind strikers from the friendlies then I was surprised he was loaned out. Happily he's progressing well at the blades. Sanchez would have been ideal, and hopefully we can sign him in Jan. Moutininho is showing his age now and maybe bossing things mentally abit too much, simplicity and directness sometimes work better than mind games. Neves gets stifled abit when they're together and dendonkers a work horse but not the answer. I personally like podence and his sharpness across the field pulls defences around as much as traores direct runs but with often empty crosses. I think we've got potential to maintain things and if we can be where we are come January perhaps push on? Repeating myself I know but every game is a new outing not knowing what we'll do. Really looking forward to Everton now. The adventure continues.

Abby I think the Southampton game showed he obvious someone deep pushing forward can have such a powerful effect. Raul dropped deep and his forward runs causing defenders to panic and great passes for Hwang to score his two goals. Pity its not quite his job but showed how we miss those runs most weeks!

Abbey, I think same with MGW as you.
I read that Lage agreed he needs to be playing more minutes regularly as to why he went to sheff utd.
If he continues his current excellent form we could have a decent player coming back to us.
It's good to see our loan players doing well but as we all know the premier league is a totally different kettle of fish.
Onwards on the journey ?.

Hwang is a work horse and has that vital calm touch (cool head) in front of goal. Where would we be without him? Podence has magical footballing moves and has been brilliant as a sub. Would worry he would be hammered by some defenders over 90 minutes as happened last season.
Definitely a quality midfielder and 2 centre backs short in squad. So it is fingers crossed for fitness. COYW.

Phil - don't disagree with your view of us being 10th ish this year but that is what makes me so angry.
With United, Arsenal and Spurs having problems we should be 4th!
We were only a little bit ahead of Leicester but in the summer of 2020 were miles ahead of WHU and the others that are now challengers for the European places.
Lets hope you are correct and Lage gets what he wants (and he clearly didn't this summer) over the next couple of tranfer windows.
Dendonker in the summer 19 is the last senIor CM (we only have 3) bought by the club, Boly in the summer of 18 is the last senior CB (we only have 4 including Kilman but excluding Yerson who has only a handful of games in Columbia to his name so can't be described as senior) and Jimenez (bought in the summer of 19) is our only senior CB - unless you count Hwang as a CF as Silva who is a CF is far from senior [still! ].
