Obviously frustration and disappointment are understandable tonight but let's try and keep things in perspective. If someone had told us 3 seasons ago when Nuno came in that we would win the Championship, follow it up with 2 top 7 finishes, an FA cup semi final and a Europa Cup quarter final we all would of ripped their hand off. Things may seem bad at the moment but as Wolves fans we know the grass definitely isn't greener. The league is all over the place this season and in honesty we've been spoilt for 2 seasons. Yes there's been some strange transfer decisions and Mendes does seem to have been milking the cow but ultimately Fosun oversee the coffers. I'm in the minority here because I'd be gutted to see Nuno go, not posted before so I'm not here for abuse but I've seen many shades of grass over the years and ripping the lawn up and starting again rarely works.

Jack - v good post and completely true. I am still a big fan of Nuno and worry not if he will be sacked but if he will walk away from the mess that the club suddenly appears to be in. Last August we were perhaps a couple of pieces way from being 1) optimistically a champions league team 2) realistically challengers for Europa league football.
However a catastrophic transfer window, a few, but major, injuries and everything falls apart to the extent that we now look like one of the weakest teams in the league - thank goodness for our 17 point start on the bottom 3!
ps welcome and I hope you post regularly!

Wise comments Jacko, iv been here since the mid 70's these are golden days no doubt about it.
Im sorry to say Nuno 100% to blame tonight shocking decision to throw away the cup.
But anyone shouting for Nuno's head needs to give their heads a wobble, best managerial stats for decades and this with a struggling Wolves championship side not a dominant premier one.

Crap season to date, not the only team feeling this, not the only team missing the fans, but because of the culture Nuno has created our players are missing it more than most teams.

Cant wait for this season to end and a "normal" season with fans to begin, the future is bright the future is old gold.

Some great posts above guys.
For me personally it would be sickening to see Nuno go. He's done so much for the club, fans and the city. There is something wrong though. He's not the same manager. Probably a combination of things but for me it all stems back to last season after the re-start. Other than the Everton game, we were poor, even in the games we won. Nuno wanted to rebuild. Change style. Recruit players that could get us in the top 6 and more.
That recruitment never materialised. At least not to how Nuno had envisaged.
We are now playing relegation football and praying that the bottom 3 remain the bottom 3. A closer look at what we do, or more precisely, what we don't do on the pitch, is very worrying. Distribution from defence is awful. Pressing in ones and twos. Pointless. Inability to move up the pitch as a team. Pace, and I'm not talking about Traore or Netto belting down the wing, throughout the team is just not there. Fitness levels don't seem to match those of other teams. Throw ins, corners, free kicks all look unrehearsed, lacking in imagination. Our attacking play, again, off the cuff, hit and hope, lacking method. All of this has everything to do with what's happening on the training pitch and nothing to do with the quality of the players. Teams with lesser quality, are doing these things so much better. Even in the championship. It simply can't carry on like this.
Last night was awful, but really, playing like we are, was getting to a cup final ever realistic. We were very lucky to get past Chorley.
Despite what many on here think, we are not clear of relegation. Teams below us will not give up the fight and at the moment we're the worst of that bunch. Ok, with a couple more wins we should be safe, but you have to score goals to win matches. It's not about doom and gloom, it's about being realistic.
I personally think Nuno has already made up his mind and will be back home next season. In the meantime I'm sure he'll do all he can to ensure premier survival. And that is paramount.

lord Thor - "the future is old gold"! Yes! (Well fingers crossed we get to the summer in one piece and then put right the mistakes made.
With Jimenez and Otto back we will be a lot stronger but sadly everyone else will have 2 years of progress whilst we have stood still/ gone backwards. Do we have the money/ freedom under FFP to cover the gaping wounds primarily in AM. )
