Cutrone recalled along with MGW yesterday, being optimistic it's like 2 new signings with the added bonus they both know our set up.
Any new signing no one knows how they will perform so until they play you can either be hopeful or doubtful.
What is fact is our squad has 2 more first teamers than it had at the beginning of the week so nuno has 2 new options.
Roll on tomorrow night.
COYW.

Sorry, two "new signings" who were let go because they were nowhere near good enough, and don't seem to have improved at a lower level since? In what way is that a good thing?

Because its happened I prefer to give it hope that both will come good for us rather than think the obvious, going on that we shipped them out because they wasn't good enough.
We're in a crisis with injuries so anything is better than nothing.
The feeling of getting myself all hyped up that all will come good beats the feeling of disappointment when it doesn't happen eg Brighton draw throwing away 2 goal lead.

Neither were 'let go because they weren't good enough. MGW had an injury ravaged season so needed more playing time, unfortunately he suffered another injury at Swansea but had already made an impression so job done. Cutrone fell out with Nuno due to his desire to play more often. Nuno couldn't accommodate the request so he was moved on.

Sorry Jas, most of those points are true, plus the MGW C.V.iot wouldn't have helped him, but do you seriously think Swansea would have accepted him because he wasn't fit enough to play for us? Fact is both of them were very poor on the pitch last season, particularly MGW. Cutrone's fall out with Nuno was undoubtably a factor, but is that relationship going to get any better now? and Fiorentina can't wait to get rid, that's how poor he has been. I know it's difficult to sign players in Jan but expected better than this. It's desperation.

That's good Jas that makes it better for me looking forward to see them play.
I back fosun and nuno nothing has made me think otherwise that's just how I feel.

6.) 07 Jan 2021
07 Jan 2021 12:13:54
In other words they weren't good enough
Just confirms one or two things as I thought, no one wants to come to us, or fosun not prepared to invest in quality.
If these two call backs going to solve our problems. God help us ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️.

When we are having to name two keepers on the bench currently I don't see how increasing the squad numbers isn't a good thing?! Are they going to improve the first team maybe not, time will tell. Are they going to improve the depth of the squad yes. Surely it makes more sense to bring Cutrone on up front than it does Otasowie?! 👍.

Not really they both can't score 😂😂😂.

There is still over 3 weeks left in the transfer window so signings could be on the way
Makes perfect sense your post Bullysboy.

This place don't half make me laugh at times only 6 days into the window opening and allready some are prophets of doom.
Cutrone wasn't given a fair chance imo now he has the chance to show what he can do with Nuno experementing with 4231 this will suite Cutrone.
MGW went out on a season long loan to build his confidence there was no option to buy so that alone should tell you something.
The Costa and Erikson stuff was just paper talk nothing more you should know by now Wolves do not discuss their transfers with the press.

Phil, you're allowed to look for a silver lining; being positive. It is a forum after all, to express your opinions. I think Cutrone ought to be given a chance. Don't think he got a fair chance last time, and who could blame him if he wanted to play more? If he gets in to a "settled" team, who knows how he'll fare? Last season we had a pretty settled team, definitely can't say that this year, perhaps if we try get better service to our forwards/ strikers you might see a different player.

Greylegwolf you are so negative, maybe they are not the incomings you want, are you privy to the clubs financial position? With ffp can we go out and spend spend spend the answer is NO. So please give MGW and Cutrone your support as a Wolves fan . Phil and Jas are right we need more depth to squad so let’s get behind the team.

Are they the 2 players I wanted this window? No.

Is our squad infinitely stronger by having them back? Yes.

You only have to look at our most recent bench to see how this helps us. I'm excited for Cutrone he may yet be the answer.

Still hoping for another signing but if not so be it.

Does anyone know the long term plans for Jordao? I thought the club were raving about him when he joined.

It makes sense to bring them back. They're our players and we need bodies. Will provide healthy competition in training and both will see an opportunity to impress in a season where we haven't had a settled team. That should be their incentive. It's up to them.
On the other hand it shows how ineffective and unbalanced our last transfer window was and an opportunity to hit the top six has been missed. Two years on and we still haven't found adequate back up to Raul and have now reverted back to the first failed attempt.
There is no saying Raul will ever be the player he was and it will take a long time even if he does get back to somewhere near his best. So maybe we shouldn't simply be looking for someone to fill a gap, but a genuine replacement instead.
I suppose we all can look at these things differently and no one is yet right or wrong. Time will tell. I for one am hoping Cutrone can hit the ground running and come good.
Still think we may get a player in this Jan. Possibly a centre back.

Thanks Belfast👍
I think both will have a point to prove.
It's something different if they play and that interests me a lot to see how they perform.

The thing is with the strikers it's just not that simple, we should all know that by now! Until there's more info on Raul (only time can do that) then the club doesn't know if they need a long term first team replacement or just a short term loan replacement. If its long term then it's (usually) the wrong window for it. If its short term loan options (assuming Pool will only agree a deal involving a sale with Origi which has already been speculated) then who else is there? I'm not saying there isn't options but I find it hard to believe there will be many massively better options than Cutrone availible to us on loan (without a mandated purchase) right now?! The problem is if players can score goals in the Prem then clubs like to keep um meaning big prices, something I suspect isn't an option right now 🤔.

Some wolves fans need to be more humble and realise where we've come from. It wasnt long ago we were a mid table championship side now after three years of success were having an off season which isn't suprising as we have six players out with injury's and the bench is basically a nursery. Plus they had no pre season.

Negative Norfolk wolf.? You don't read my posts then.
It's only my opinion,
And everyone entitled to theirs
We can only be bringing them back because doesn't look like we signing anyone.
I still think there not good enough
But hey I might be proved wrong
Then I will hold my hand up
But negative. 😮😮😮😮
That's stunned me.

I think Cutrone will add a bit of steal to the forward line. MGW was poor last season, but has had some very good games for us in the past, so we know he has it in him. I would rather either of those played as striker ahead of Silva as I don't think Silva is strong enough at the moment. It would be great to sign a trusted striker, but 2 of the names in question, King and Costa have hardly had great seasons them selves. Cutrone may come back with a bang due to wanting to prove Nuno wrong. He certainly loved the fans, so he will give 100%. Good news to see Jimenez is back with very light training. It will obviously be a long road back, but good that he is back on his feet.

Majority of fans liked Cutrone, I liked him before he made his comments about Nuno. He's back with us let's get behind him. MGW, first couple of games fans were raving about him then all of a sudden couple of bad games and everyone was on his back, I like him I still think he has something different to offer us. I think they will both come good have a little faith.

I agree toady, mgw is not premier material and cutrone seems in a permanent strop.
The spine of the team needs strengthening and this looks like a plaster to get us through till summer.

Agreed Man, I was the same I had little time for Cutrone after the Nuno comments but we have to be pragmatic here. He's a young lad and his main gripe last time was that Nuno wouldn't look past Raul, well (sadly) that won't be the case this season! It makes sense, he needs game time to get back in the shop window and we need a striker. I suspect they are trying to get the Cup clearance for him to try and get him straight in and up for the challange. Might be unlikely but if he bangs in a brace in the cup then we'll all be calling it a master stroke 👍.

Curtrone is another year wiser this time, he knows where he's going to and what the set up is, sonit should be an easier transition, who is to say he that he may have wanted to come back also, nobody knows. He wasn't played for the simple reason and that was if he played a few more games the clause to buy him was tight, and they couldn't afford him, its that simple, he was caught in the crossfire, he has what it take stop make it at Wolves, and is different type of player to what we have, and I for one welcome. the 2 lads back with open arms as Nuno has.

MGW has unbelievable talent.
Nuno wanted him to be a more defensive midfielder.
That he will never be, hence the loan, if we want to play with a no10 or a false 9 or whatever you want to call it MGW is your man.
He loves our and his club.
Support the guy
He will deliver.
