Only got radio commentary did Mariner go to the monitor for de Bruyne penalty, out of interest. Sounds like a dive!

{Ed047's Note - one of those where the player falls over the legs, they always seem to be given

Silly challenge. No need for it.

To be fair, Man City have outclassed us. Peps high press tactics have ensured that we can't get going.

It was a clear penalty. Utter and complete garbage. Yes City are a class act but Nuno has lost it completely. Neto and Podence simply not good enough. Sell Neves and Traore and get some quality in. Top six? Champions league? People on here need to get real we are nowhere near good enough. Here comes the R word again .

Poor performance in first half. getting overwhelmed in midfield. AMN would be a good option for centre midfield, strong in the tackle and capable of getting up and down pitch. too many players having an off day. Will be interesting to see if some changes made at half time.

I don’t post on here all the time after watching Sheffield Utd and the first half tonight I can’t see what Nuno is doing Traore can not and should not ever be played at RWB he can’t play it I’d prefer to see Sanderson or Burr given ago and play Traore upfront with Podence playing CAM or even Silva playing behind the other 2.

I take it that's a no then! Frankly performance wise I'd given up on a win/ draw before the game. I'm not unduly disappointed tbh. When we get our best team sorted out we'll be ok.

Commentary on BBC was pretty awful but we were better 2nd half. Ok we lost, not the end of the world. Semedo in Traore further up the pitch where he should be. What do people expect. We'll be fine.

Much, much better in the second half. More clinical finishing and we would have got something out of the game. Moved the ball quicker and forwards ran at their defence and caused problems. unlucky to let in late, late goal as I don’t think the final score fairly reflected how close we came to a comeback in the second half.
Loss of Marcal early doors was a blow. RWB coming in will let Traore push forward as he is not a defender.

Well it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be
Outclassed 1st half and could have been 4 down
We sharpened 2nd half and got tighter and could have got level. Hope marcal injury not too bad. Should have a new RWB soon. Silva needs time. Bit lightweight right now. We should take some confidence from the 2nd half BUT we need a quality creative attacking midfielder.

Any reason why Sterling was not booked for his theatrical ‘penalty attempt’ dive in the first half?

Funny SQ I get a completely different R word come to mind when I read your posts. Why come here just to spout endless negative, pessimistic crap? Seems pointless to me, unless you just like attention?

Podence not good enough SQ? That's the proof I need to confirm you're no Wolves fan.

Completely agree Jonny, for the life of me I can't understand why Nuno is sticking with Adama at RWB. It's a double loss cause he's woeful at tackling but worse we miss him scaring out of the City defence. Haven't seen much of Burr or Sanderson but one of them HAS to be better option for me. Least then if they give a goal away (as Adama did tonight) then we have him up front to try and help get it back!

NES : you don’t get booked now for trying to initiate contact with an opposing player, what we used to call diving and cheating is encouraged by all top coaches, the players who are good at initiating contact gain penalties and free kicks around the edge of the box and are called “brilliant”, ”genius”, adored by commentators and pundits and handed Man of the Match trophies.
