It’s really disappointing that Nuno hasn’t picked vinagre. instead he’s playing a centre back there who hasn’t played into the position in a long time. and on top of that he needs game time if he’s going to improve to the level that he can.

We trust Nuno, but surely this is a mistake.
( especially comparing marcals performance at lcb for Lyon in the ucl)

Also, our new home kit is really dreadful.
Worst kits we’ve ever had, with the away kit.

That's 3 more points than last season! New rwb needed for sure. Saiss best game since?

Lots to like. Boly's distribution needs to improve to take the pressure off, otherwise a great start compared to last year.

Yes Wimbornwolf. Boly worries me at times. Got caught out too many times today and yes, distribution poor.

Well played Romain Saiss. I wouldn't have had him starting but that was as good a performance as I've seen him have. A very good performance to start with all round.

Not been on here for a few weeks as promised.

Delighted with the signing of Silva. He is young and a real prospect. Although he didn't play a part today, he will learn so much from Jimenez and Nuno and I have no doubt that it'll be £35m well spent.

The signings we have made allow for Nuno to make tactical changes mid game. Coady, Boly, Marcel, Dendoncker and Saiss all play CB. Marcal, Vinagre, Jonny (when fit) and Buur as wing backs. However I think it is our midfield and attack that have improved the most. Jota, Traore, Podence and Neto as the attacking wingers/ forwards, Neves, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Saiss and Vitinha in midfield so interchangeable depending on the opposition and finally Silva, Jota and Jimenez available up front.

Last season, as good as it was, the changes available to Nuno were limited and usually predictable. This season is much different based on only 3 players signed but how Nuno trains them to play multiple roles. With Nunos statement that the squad isn't complete yet, the remainder of the transfer window really will be exciting. Strap yourselves in boys and girls, this is going to be one hell of a ride.

Pleased we gave Oskar a chance if he can make it work in that position we can have Podence Raul Adama across the front

Saiss making a strong statement that he's not going to give up his place without a fight.

What ever Arsenal are asking Niles we should pay it, Traore is a liability at wing back and will cost us points if we keep playing him in that position, otherwise I thought it was a very good game and the formation was exciting.

Judging by Nunos pre match comments, I think a RWB is being looked at as a priority.

Staffordwwfc agree about 2nd strip but my thoughts on the black sleeve on the home kit, is it anything to do with the 'T shirt' handball rule this season possibly easier to define? Just a thought.
Cracking start, abit worried about the second half tho, still sitting and awaiting a break. Saiss fantastic tonight, Cody as reliable as ever agree rwb needed. Jiminez superb again. The dream continues.

Stafford-- they were saying on the radio that Vinagre was cut because he's about to move back to Portugal. Hopefully with Telles coming our way in exchange, they didn't say that second bit mind (that's just my wishful thinking) 😬 I suspect Vinagre will be gone by the end of the week going off what the commentators said but who knows 👍.

Great point from Andy Hinchcliffe on Comms tonight ; after 30 odd minutes Raul had had more touches than anyone else on pitch, compare and contrast with Vardy, who hardly ever sees the ball or links play. Just saying, two great centre-forwards who are very different players. By the way WELL DONE Jamie, with your two touches on Sunday x COYW.

Preston that is a good point because for years people here wanting an out and out striker like Vardy but Raul shows us how he can be a great player and a great finisher.

The strip looks better than I originally thought. Bring on Man City.
