Love or hate Lurpack Jack and the Vile. You can’t condone idiots getting on to the playing surface and attacking players. It can’t go on for the sake of the game we all love.
We are fence free in this country, thankfully. These idiots and their actions are ammunition for the do gooders to start thinking about things like fencing. Every decent football fan, that included fans of the Blouse, wants this kind of behaviour stopped, now, before it escalates. Fine him heavily? Jail him? Either or both, and definitely a life time ban from ALL football.

Agree totally lowwolf, but I will admit to a guilty little chuckle seeing greasy head on the receiving end. That said I hope the prat who ran on is identified and suitably made a laughing stock by the press, hit in the pocket and banned from every ground in the country.

Personally, I would have abandoned the game and made that idiot compensate all the fans, then ban him for life.

Trouble is how many hundreds of thousand people went to see football at the weekend? And are we to let two idiotic mindless (for whatever reason, alcohol drugs or other, they're not excuses) ruin it? By all means step up security but deal with the prats. Ww don't close the high streets after all the stabbings or punish the shopkeeper station park keepers. Get real and leave the game alone.

That’s a very good point Abbywolf.
The only difference I can think of, is football could maybe be an easier target?

There are tv cameras all over football. We see the idiots at work. Sadly people relate more to a football club than an unknown victim and sell papers and fill tv news time. How many incidents occurred in pubs and clubs this weekend that don't get a mention. A idiot runs on the pitch, how many others applauded it in the stand? I admit I chuckled at greaselish getting it. And also grealish ran and jumped into the crowd upon scoring, yellow card, big deal, but wasn't that an act of incitement? Players actions must be scrutinised too. All I'm saying is there is a bit of over reaction in all, and football shouldn't be wholly blamed for what in comparison was a minor kerfuffle.

I take your point abbywolf but football has had its problems with fan behaviour in the past and the media will blow it out of proportion. There needs to be strong action to show that the sport won't allow us to slip back to the bad old days.

It didn't happen to Grealish or Smalling but the invaders could have had a weapon. Just look at what happened to Monica Seles in tennis a few years ago when she was stabbed on court. It is a serious issue which could have serious consequences.

Seeing Jack Grealish attacked on the pitch yesterday reminded me of The Doog being set on by an irate Millwall fan on April Fool’s day 1967. this is totally unacceptable and should be stamped on now with firm penalties put in place. However one thing yesterday that confused me was why Grealish was not rolling over in agony as he would have been if a player had accidentally touched his face with one of their fingers. I'm not trying to belittle the incident in any way shape or form but why the different actions?

Wasn't much of a punch, my mother used to hit me harder than that for not washing behind my ears.
