looks like another window of selling all of our good players again.
Lets see if we actually get anyone decent back in though

It's not a sale he is out of contract so it's his decision no-one else's.

Your absolutely right Mike, it's worse than a sale as we will be getting diddly squat for a player we paid £30m for! It might be his decision to leave but it's been the club's decision to yet again watch another first team player run down their contract and leave on a free!

Can you force a player to sign a contract against his will? Adama Traore is a perfect example. Fosun gave him 2 years to sign a contract extension/new contract but HE chose to leave. How is that Fosuns fault.
Also, Wolves have apparently offered Semedo more than Marseille and Benfica have and more than he is currently on so the decision to leave will be Semedos and Semedos alone.

Here goes.
Why do so many people on here just post negativity? If you do, that's your perogative, but in my mind being a bit of a misery is no fun at all.
Supporters are called just that because normally that's what they do.
But please, if you insist on moaning, at least get your facts right! -the management didn't run Semedo's contract down, he did. If you think the club are happy to lose the captain for nothing, you are, frankly, deluded.
Can't wait for the replies

Even the world’s best run clubs have players that run down their contracts, Liverpool and Arsenal spring to mind in recent times. If the player wants to, there’s absolutely nothing the club can do.

Just SELL them then! For goodness sake it's not rocket science is it?! It's all well and good sighting Pool and Arsenal but frankly those teams can afford to lose top players for free, we can't! I also love the hypocrisy in this, you ALL mention how well run Brentford, Brighton, Forest etc are without seeing the sheer irony in it! Tell me now how many of those teams REGULARLY let first team, big money (record in Admamas case) signings just walk on a free?! Please tell me cause the simple answer is that they don't allow it FOR A REASON! It's because it makes NO financial sense, so when they get players like Semedo and Traore refusing to sign a contract with two years left they make it VERY clear either you sign or we cash in! But we consistently don't seem to do that! Of course it's within the players gift to agree or not agree, I'm (obvs) not debating that! But it's also in the clubs gift to 'manage those contracts/transfers' and I'm afraid we just haven't done that at all well! We were damn lucky to get what we did for Neves (with a year left on his contract) whilst again selling a player for half his REAL value! Semedo cost £30m and Adama £20m, that's £50m down and that's before we even factor in selling AIT and Cunha for an fraction of potiential market value!
Sorry for being a misery Tim (genuinely:) I don't like always being negative I really don't but it's hard not to be! Yet again we've sold our best players, it's EVERY year now! Do I trust VP, yes but I also trusted Lage, Lope and Gary and in EVERY case the club let them down! Let's hope this shift in direction changes things, then you can stop being deluded and I can stop being a misery! ???

Just sell them! ? I’m sure that crossed the minds of every club but someone not only needs to want to pay for them the player has to want to go there as well, has to sign a contract extension before a year left (which no player will ever be forced to do) and has the freedom to put their feelers out for better deals with a year to go. I think people better look at some other clubs released list, Everton for example have a list of players which demanded £200+M together in their last transfer fees combined. The bottom line is, if a player wants to run down their contract they have all the power and there really isn’t a damn thing the club they play for can do about it. Phil Jones in the reserves for four years on £100K a week with multiple offers to go to other clubs springs to mind.

Rayan has gone it would appear with two years left on his contract which is the optimum time to sell. It's a big move and I don't blame him for wanting to go particularly as he was one of the lowest paid in the squad. I've mentioned this before he was on 10k a week a lot compared to us mere mortals. I said last year he should have been given a new contract then then maybe just maybe he wouldn't have been so keen to go.

There was speculative talk a few years ago about a potential swap between Semedo with United’s (then) Wan-Bissaka. If that was ever on the table then our Board has been negligent with this contract rundown situation. Also if you look at AWB’s performances versus Mitoma, he knows how to stay tight to a quick winger and give them little room to cross. Probably click-bait at that stage but you’d have thought there were options to cash in over the last few years.
Disappointing.

So hang on Pikey are you seriously saying that at 29 and a full Portugal international we would have been unable to get £15-20m for Semedo two years back?! Why exactly, I mean clearly he's wanted hence the multiple offers so why then would it have been beyond the realms of possibility to sell these players?! I bet after Hwang runs his contract down and leaves on free you'll blame him to? Never mind that we turned down £21m for him last summer eh. Haha I love that you sight Everton as an example, literally one of the worse run clubs in the league is that what you think we should be emulating is it, OK then! Still not seeing a single example from the club's I mentioned losing first team players but happy for you to prove me wrong?!
The fact is that we didn't get rid of those players cause it would have costed more to replace them than it would to resign them on a new contract! Just like we didn't replace Kilman when we needed cause we tried to pinch the pennies there. Or I suspect you will say that was Agbadous fault for not calling the club and asking them to buy him?! ?
I find it so funny that people agree that the club needs to learn/make changes but when someone says how they need to change all you get is people getting defensive and accusing you of moaning. Apparently everything's working perfectly according to you guys, someone should tell Jeff as he seems to be in the process of changing from that supposedly perfect system, wonder why that might be eh?! ??

Once again BullysBoy you are missing the point entirely! The player has to agree to the move or the contract, clubs cannot just sell players or force players to sign contracts if the player doesn’t want to, it’s that simple. I really can’t be bothered to list the dozens of players that have left every “well run club” over the last 10 years but look on Transfer Market and you will see many players released for nothing that Wolves were actually trying to sign before they went to these clubs (so we actually dodged many bullets). One first team player that I would take though is Lamptey from Brighton, yes he’s had his injury issues but when fit he’s an excellent little player.
