Trincao signed on loan from Barcelona for the season with an option to buy at the end of £25m per Spiers.

{Ed002's Note - Francisco Trincao (RW) It has not worked out well after Barcelona paid well over the odds for him. Jorge Mendes is offering him around to the clubs he has influence over and Wolves might bite as a potential Traore replacement. An initial loan would work.}

‘Try before you buy’ is a good option for Wolves, Ed, after last summer. I don’t see Trincao as a replacement for Traore but certainly an additional option whether or not Traore is sold. On the Traore point if he doesn’t sign a new contract and we can’t command the fee we want then I hope we can negotiate a hefty sell-on clause (ala the RAN deal) rather than be caught at the behest of the market dip.

{Ed002's Note - Adama Treore (RW) not keen on a new contract - Leeds have asked Wolves about his availability and it would not be a surprise to see some interest from Spurs. Could potentially interest Klopp again. Wolves will want a new contract agreed.}

NES - it doesn't sound a daft move does it. With Neto injured he should get game time and we will find out if he is good enough. He will be 22 next season so whilst not quite now or never he should be pretty close to where he is going to be as an adult player.
His record is a little thin but I gather he had injuries. 6 caps for Portugal and a stellar youth record (as Silva had mind) though is not a bad thing to bring to the table.
The downside is low - you send him back. The upside is obviously significant. £25m is a large fee for Wolves but if he is as good as the hype ( they rarely are mind) he could be a bargain.
Re Traore completely agree
I have seen the Leeds rumours before - odd as Traore doesn't work hard enough for the Leeds style and in Harrison and Raphina they are strong in WF posistions.
However firstly I doubt they can afford him and 2ndly if he was made avaiable you would think most of the major teams in Europe would be intereted- raw talents of his sort are v v rarely available and particularly at the sort of fee Wolves might sell at.

Traore will end up back at Barcelona if he goes! Why would he swap wolves for Leeds they did a Sheffield utd of last season came under the radar but second season got found out and relegation every season one club do what Leeds did this season but many of them never back it up second season.

Giant we did!
Obviously though I agree with you re Traore and Leeds - in football terms it is at best it is a sideways move. So why move unless they are paying absolutely stupid money but he'd almost certainly get that elsewhere and for far better teams - which makes it mad of course that we aren't paying him!
Having said that I think Leeds will do ok this year as the quality of players - Raphina, Phillips, Meslier, Dallas etc - they have are much better than SU had.
Agreed their style will not be such a shock so it won't be easy but i'm pretty sure there will be worse teams than them next year.

Because we have to be creative on transfer according to Jeff this probably comes under that heading. If we'd had the cash we could have saved a few million but needs must. He's played a good number of games in his season at Barcelona so is obviously a good player and it was a big step up for him. He's played with Neto so I see it as a positive. It makes sense for Barcelona as they will show a profit so if it works out everyone is happy. If Traore goes for 40m plus either now or 25m next season if his contract runs down we hopefully will have a quality wide player ready.
Now for the midfield attacker and defender!
