Italian club Nuno was linked with is Lazio.

6.) 01 Jun 2021

Lage has been granted a work permit.

7.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 00:09:09
Bad news then Jas.

8.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 09:22:42
Ends all speculation then. One way or the other the club can move on now.

9.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 09:48:02
Everybody wants nuno, apart from the Chinese. Best manager we have ever had and they sack him. 4 years work down the drain, back to square one. to be replaced by a nobody, FOSUN OUT FOSUN OUT.

10.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 10:46:45
WHAT?
Its fosun who have made it possible our best team players in the last 40 odd years.
I can not see in the slightest why you say such a bold statement like that Demon.
I'm scratching my head.
But each to their own suppose.

11.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 11:22:39
Deamon is another troll.

12.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 11:45:22
Fosun have done more for our club than any other owners!
Changes in management and playing staff (that will follow) are a risk for sure and I hope will push us on however we have to get behind the club.
Keep the faith!

13.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 12:12:40
If Lage is appointed new manager like most fans I will get behind him and fosun.
COYW.

14.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 13:04:39
Well where ever Nuno goes their will be a mass exodus from Wolves. Mark my words we will NOT be top 10 next season but in a relegation battle.

15.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 13:39:59
So, basically some fans are already writing the new manager off before he's even been appointed and also want Fosun out because getting us promoted and into Europe in 4 years ain't good enough. What I'd like is for these same fans to put forward their ideas.

16.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 14:34:33
If Nunos going to palace fable, what player in there right mind would follow him?
They are never going to trouble the top 10 nevermind top 6,at least if we can get this window right we have a chance at making a play for the top 6.

{Ed002's Note - He will go to Everton I would think.}

17.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 15:29:01
On the bright side if he ends up at Everton at least there pockets are deep enough to give us the best price for any of our stars that wish to play with him.

18.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 15:34:30
Lage has his work permit. E and S.

19.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 16:47:47
If this is taking Wolves forward then they are very much mistaken, why couldn't we make a move for Conceicao or Zidane? This guy Lage has no track record whatsoever, it's going to be interesting to see how long he lasts, yet again we've been screwed over by Mendes! (Beware The Ides Of March)! Guaranteed we are going to be in a relegation scrap this season, I for one have no confidence in the club or this guy Lage. Jeff Shi stated that Wolves are not overly reliant on Mendes, I beg to differ with this appointment I rest my case.
COYW.

20.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 17:24:35
Karlis, that Jorge Mendes is always screwing us over isn't he. Everything he does is an absolute disaster for us. From facilitating the Fosun buyout from Steve Morgan (who wanted that eh? ) to helping us purchase players such as Neves, Moutinho, Jimenez, Neto, Podence and Patricio when we could have kept Henry, Jacobs, Mason, Lonegran and Price. And don't even get me started on his managerial links. I mean, what had Nuno ever done in his career and then he had the audacity to bring him to our club. How dare he. I want the club to wash their hands of this Jorge Mendes fella.

21.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 17:50:49
Jas M - you won that round :)

22.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 18:47:38
Jas M by way of KO!
Incredible that so many 'fans' have already written off next season without a player being signed or a ball being kicked.
Well, if Nuno wants to take players to his supposed new club, let him. They were the ones who let him down in the first place so what's there to worry about?
The players that couldn't beat Man U's U23s, who were out run by Burnley to the small measure of 4 miles.
I would also think as part of his 'non-sacking mutual consent' pay off Wolves might have mentioned not to come back for any of his former players.

23.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 19:00:31
Got to give him a chance if appointed, could be a huge risk, but time will tell, if nuno goes to Everton I do think he will go in for neves.

24.) 02 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 21:06:03
We don't have to sell Neves to Everton, and it's not saying he would want to go there.

25.) 03 Jun 2021
02 Jun 2021 22:58:01
Shouting Lage (r) lager lager.

26.) 03 Jun 2021
03 Jun 2021 07:44:15
I like it Tommy😀.

27.) 03 Jun 2021
03 Jun 2021 10:02:23
Jas, you might be wasting your time mate. Fosun out? some fans have unbelievably short memories. Let's give Bruno Lage a chance. Nuno had about 3 clubs in 4 years and he was a very secondary coach when he came to Wolves. I had to google his name! Nuno stayed with us for 4 years, which is something he's never done anywhere else.

It says a lot about a minority when the current board have invested more than previous boards and delivered more in terms of success and growth than previous boards for many many years (decades even), but are still seen as not good enough, lacking ambition etc. It's always easier to spend someone else's money than to spend your own.

Mistakes have been made and will continue to be made, but a lot of things will also be done well and have been. When Nuno came in I though he'd be gone by Christmas that same year and we'd still be mid table in the Championship - I was very very wrong. If Lage is who the board want to bring he deserves to be given the chance, sometimes clubs and coaches just fit and work and none of us have a crystal ball as to how this will pan out and every successful player and manager has to start somewhere.

Personally I think going for a big named coach like Conte (or Zidane who I don't rate as a manager) are used to managing big clubs and this makes it risky. There is no guarantee of success and if they fail then it's an expensive mistake. If they succeed then the lure of managing a Real Madrid or a Juventus is too much to resist as they have no emotional attachment to their current job and a new manager then has to be brought in with his own players and staff.

I agree with Alex. But I would also play devil's advocate and mention Zenga. But at least we know if Lage is wrong they won't be shy about sacking him.

I also agree about managers used to managing huge teams with huge budgets. Zidane might well not be able to work with a club our size. We have history but we aren't the size of City, Real and PSG. It's why I personally thought Stevie G would be good.

Lage is Portuguese and it seems to be him that will be announced sooner rather than later. No point moaning. It's best to be positive and get behind the guy. Maybe this squad will be well suited to him and maybe the youth will get a real chance to shine.

The one thing it does mean that our tactics will change and that teams won't be as ready for us as they have been.

Hopefully we keep Vit and Ait Nouri. Would like to see Neves stay and see him working in a midfield where he can shine. And hopefully Lage will bring on MGW's talents as the guy honestly has such ability for his age. He plays like he is 25/ 26. You forgot he is still nowhere near his prime. And Fabio with Raul up front and Neto/ Adama on the wings could be brutal (if Adama stays. If not I'm sure Podence will love it as he will become default replacement! ) And with overlapping of Ait Nouri and Semedo it could be killer. If Lage gets the team playing and plugs the holes then who is to say another push for 7th isn't possible?

03 Jun 2021 15:02:22
Good point about Zenga. Fosun pulled the plug early on him (and Lambert) . Bruno is not a top coach in terms of experience and achievements, but he is young, talented and hungry. Wolves and Bruno can grow together I hope.

31.) 03 Jun 2021
03 Jun 2021 16:45:33
Lol Bruno doesn't have the best achievements. But he won the portugese league. 😂 One more than any serious trophy Wolves have won since league Cup in 1980! The sherpa van don't count.

I agree with some of the comments. I do trust a portugese coach as I think they can keep the core of the squad together. Bruno probably knows Raul for example already. It also means we can sign some players from Benfica hopefully as the portugese clubs are struggling financially.

Conte would be amazing as he is so good with wing backs. But probably would want £300m to spend. And disrupt the squad and not give the youngsters much of a chance.

If we can keep the squad and sign a cb, Box to box midfielder and a norther striker we have a great chance of a successful year next season.

32.) 03 Jun 2021
03 Jun 2021 19:09:48
Try telling me and the 50000 other wolves fan's in Wembley stadium that day the Sherpa Van don't count.
If we get Lage then we will all have to get behind him and hope the core of our team, and by that I mean the Portuguese, accept his way the same as they did Nunos.
Surely a more attacking style of play will be accepted by the fan's as the football was turgid at times last season.

You hit the nail on the head big cheese. The clubs is looking to compete now though not survive.

The biggest respect to fans, chairman, players and staff that have got wolves where they are today.

But we do have to move with the times. To buy the players we want to compete we need to plan to win a trophy that players would know of all around the world. Asking a Mexican about the sherpa van won't get us very far. Albeit no one can take those memories away from fans.
