Just read an article on One Football. I quotes mendes saying that he had plans to move nuno on from wolves and find him a new challenge. it said that Nuno is looking for a new Premier League club, whilst la liga is still an option. Apparently, Nuno was in talks with Arsenal recently whilst they were on their run of bad form!
Quite concerning if true.

I read it SLIGHTLY differently Stafford, the part 'Nuno is looking for a new Premier League club' - which it doesn't actually state.
Just more rubbishhousery from mischievous journalists reigniting an old story I'd think.
Losing Nuno would be a huge loss.

Those websites are no better than a blog. They quoted the Daily Fail, we'll leave it there.

If we're just interpreting things any old way, I've just read the article and my takeaway is this:

Agent of Ronaldo, Diego Costa, Rafael Leao, Angel Di Maria and Fabinho has been talking to the hierarchy at Wolves regarding player movement.

Signing a three year contract is a VERY odd way to go about manoeuvring a transfer?! Papers talking nonsense as per! 🙄.

{Ed002's Note - The situation with the coach is that his agent has held informal discussions with two clubs who he feels would potentially match Nuno Espirito Santo's ambitions. I would not worry about it too much.}

I think the only worrying part of this story is that it does support the theory that Nunos come to realise that Fosuns ambitions don't match his own. I do wonder how much say he's had in transfers, cause getting your best players sold without a say would make any manager rethink their position 😭.

Who on here honestly thought that when Doherty left and replaced by Semedo, that we hadn't upgraded?

The Jota transfer I can see issues with but most, including me thought that Podence was an adequate replacement.

I think your right on the Doughty deal Jas but with the Jota deal I wonder if it was more what it represented. How many clubs with serious aspirations sell there best players at the first opportunity?! Also don't forget Jota was one of the first peeps Nuno wanted bringing in, they clearly like each other. And before peeps say about Pool selling Coutinho frankly it's apples and pairs! We sold our best attacker for £40m (and that won't all have been up front), there's a difference between getting an offer you can't refuse (Coutinho £140m! ) and selling someone to the first club that shows genuine interest! Look at Zaha, tied with leaving Palace every window but never does cause to Palace he's worth £50m+. Does anyone honestly think Zahas much better than Jota cause the club clearly did! 😒.

Well Jas, Having seen Semedo several times, Defensively he is poor, he is not any better than Doherty, just younger, at 26 he should be in his prime, prefer Ki Hana Hoever. think when Jonny otto is fit he will be 1st choice.

Yellowstone, you've missed my point. What I said was after Doherty left and Semedo came in, we thought we'd got ourselves an upgrade. Before either had played for their new teams.

And I think it's a fair point Jas, I honestly still believe with time and played in the actual role he was bought in for (wing back) then Semedo still could be an upgrade. Peeps seem to be ignoring that Doherty is not always playing at Spurs and that's also because he ain't great in a back four! Semedo hasn't been good but signing two wing backs who's best side of there game is going forward then playing them both at full back in a flat back four is half the problem! We seem to have signed players to suit a very specific role/ system then scrambled to change the whole lot simply because we are going through a dry spell up front?!

Sorry jas your correct.
I have been disappointed with him for while it's not as if his attacking skills make up for his defensive frailties.

Told u before he’s going and it will be very soon, he’s disrespected the club. Fosun will act and rightly so.

Jas - I'm pretty sure I wasn't that complimentary at the time!

But agree with you that Doherty has fallen short at Spurs - the system he plays in being v important.
Shame for Semedo that we don't seem to have a stable system anymore. He is playing with ever changing line ups and being asked to cope with a seemingly never ending range of tactical systems and roles.
