Rumours has it that Traore wants to leave. If we sell him we will need to replace him and get a striker, midfielder and a defender are also needed as well. They will be needed as we are short of proven players as it is. but I can not see us getting 4 proven players in this window. not looking good at the moment.

Will make many on here v. happy and if we do it will make another set of fans v v v happy - like Liverpool and City fans are that Chelsea sold Salah and De Bruyne.
Even Robbie Keane - the best player I have seen at Wolves in the last 50+ years -wasn't as highly regarded by the REST of the football world as Traore is and that is before he is taught how to use his left foot, take the ball when running and, (presumably not his fault as he must be playing to instructions), occasionally run at the goal not the corner flag. It will also help if he is playing with players on his wave length like Doherty and Jimenez and players that take the 3 or 4 chances he makes every match. Even in the last few weeks when he has been slaughtered on here he has been making SEVERAL clear chances a game despite the opposing team knowing he is our major threat ( Neto and Podence have been great but not at his level yet) and therefore double, treble and even quadruple marking him.
I know this will not be a popular post but please be careful what you wish for - if you think the Jota, ( who is not half the player Traore is) situation has bitten us be aware that Traore will swallow us hole!

Was a huge talent - sadly we sold v early and got a modest sum from Coventry (look where they are now and thank our lucky stars! ) who doubled their money in a season by flipping him to Italy.

John Richards was sacked because he didn't negotiate a sell on fee.

Didn't know that but ok. He was a god when I was a teenager, and seemed a v nice man, but fair enough at the top level where you are paid to perform it is only fair if you make big mistakes you lose your job.
He was v unlucky to play at the same time as Alan Clark - the brother of Wayne the quiz q answer from the other day - or he would have got far more than the 1 cap he received.
Only 1 sub in those days though and it was much more competitive as all 22 sides
Now if you are a young English player getting a game you will almost certainly be capped.
Perhaps it is much harder to get a game though?

Yes, Coventry famously offered bang on £5m for Keane which was rejected. Richards, who was MD at the time said anything over £5m will be accepted so Coventry offered £5m plus 1 pound. He then failed to add a sell on clause.

if you could have put on one that carried on for future transfers he, Keane, would have been the golden goose the number of times he was sold and for lots each time. Great talent but clearly a wanderer in other ways than just Wolves.
Not sure how many of you remember Richards but what a player - always in the right place - superb finisher and like Steve Bull v loyal to the club. His partner Alan Sunderland went to Arsenal and won lots but he was def the junior in the pair.
Hope relations with him and club are good again after all these years as he was a true hero in some of the best years I had watching wolves the McGarry years in the early 70s.
