Rumours circulating again that we are after Origi, I think it would be a good buy but it would kill the confidence and spirit of the squad I think in particular Silva. Peoples thoughts.

I believe we have genuinely been in for him before but (like Abrahams) he wasn't ready to leave. Now I think he might be (Jotas arrival) so I could definitely see a loan with a fee agreed come Jan. I think it would be a great move, I get what you say about confidence but don't forget he's comfortable across the front line. We need more senior cover for the wings as well and so as he can come in and cover about three positions whilst (potentially) adding goals it gets a big thumbs up from me 👍.

I'm not a fan of origi, and may well be proved wrong, my preference is maxi Gomez.
No doubt they've got someone in mind.

Grey- mate I think there is virtually no chance of us getting Maxi Gomez, the Ed did point this out when the story resurfaced but no one seems to be listening! He only went to Valencia a year ago and they have been pretty consistent in saying that he would only go for his release fee which stands at a whopping €140m! If we were to even go for him it would mean that we aren't expecting to have Raul back again, as you don't spend or get strikers like Gomez as second choice you don't keep strikers like Raul as second choice for long either mind! 👍.

We should be looking for someone not as Raul replacement, but someone to compliment him.

Agree with you there Grey fella, which is mostly why I think someone that can play a couple of positions across the front would help, so they could potentially play in the same team as Raul whist still being comp for his place. Not long till the start of silly season (transfer window) 👍.

Origi on loan till the end of the season would be very timely. We can guarantee him more game time than Liverpool. He scored in the Champions League final and Nuno has always wanted him. Origi would also help Silva to assimilate gradually as deputy to Origi rather than the big jump to a straight replacement for Jimenez.
