Anyone else heard the rumour about Wolves changing kit manufacturers from Adidas to Castore.

From what I've read, Adidas deal is worth £3m a season and runs until 2022.

The Castor deal will be worth £1m a season and Wolves are in negotiations to break the deal with Adidas 1 year early.

The report also states that Rangers are getting £5m a year and Newcastle will too if they sign, however this is for all official merchandise whereas our deal is only for the kits and not wider retail items.

Strange that we'd consider a sponsor offering less money.

Can the Eds shed some light on this.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know any of the details but if the amount involved is as low as that the club would get a significant profit share on sales and the deal would be simply for teh supply of kit.}

Cheers Ed. Just done a little more research and it mentions that the club and manufacturers would split the profits. Rangers are tied into the new style contract and have seen a significant rise in income.

{Ed002's Note - That makes sense Jas.}

I have not a clue on these things but could this just be a reaction to the current situation with our revenue streams? By that I mean the club needs to make more from merchandise (thus wanting a larger share of the profits) to help compensate for the lack of matchday income?
