That Allan Saint Maximan rumour has surfaced again.

For me doesn't seem likely for a few reasons.

For one wingers is not really an area we lack. Jota/ Adama Podence/ Neto happy with all of those. Unless we loose a player.

I'd be happy with Jan Vertonghen, he's thirty-three so not exactly a lame duck, plenty of PL/ Europe exp. so he ticks all the boxes (free transfer too, POTENTIAlLY)

Apparently, he was on £100k per week, same as Moutinho is on. Offer him £75k and a decent signing on fee and see how it goes.

We didn't sign Ings because he wanted to play for the club he supports - Southampton. One he knew they were interested and willing to pay the transfer fee he had his heart set on moving there. Very much like when we signed Dennis Irwin. Other clubs were interested but as a Wolves fan, he couldn't pass up the chance to play for us.

Doesn't seem our bag to try and dislodge established prem players. The fees for one too high.

I only issue we have is finding a striker who is good enough but also willing to play a bit part.

Cutrone wasnt having any of it. Feel it's going to be someone either incredibly young. Or right at the end of their career.

Agree that established prem players not really our thing. Good place to start is usually the relegated clubs and avoiding the obvious like Callum Wilson, David Brooke and Cantrell. We need a strong midfielder and experienced cover for Raul. Ideally Raul cover would be decent in the air, get in the box and able to lay balls off to the fast forwards. But also happy to play the last 20 mins. So how about Welbeck for a season or two. Nuno's coaching our medical team and seems to meet no dickhead rule. Midfielder maybe a bid for Lerner or Pilling at Bournemouth.

Welbeck? Sicknote more like. Good player but his body can't take the rigours of ongoing training and playing unfortunately.
