Couple of bits from the BBC gossip page: Fiorentina want to sign Wolverhampton and Italy striker Patrick Cutrone, 21, on loan until the end of the season.

Real Madrid will recall Spanish defender Jesus Vallejo, 22, from his loan spell at Wolves in January because of a lack of playing time.

Cutrone I can't see going anywhere unless a replacement is brought in. I expect him to be used as a bit part player this season and be more involved next season. In regards to Vallejo, no point keeping him uf he ain't playing. Need to bring someone in who will provide cover/ competition to what we already have and Vallejo just isn't that player.

I’m in the same mindset about PC, we have no back up in that position. It would be a silly move. Vallejo move just didn’t work out for whatever reason (s) - shame really, but Nuno says he wants a CB in January so that says it all.

Happy New Year everyone, Wolves ay we.

Do you think it is fair to Patrick to keep him and only use him a few minutes a game, destroying his chance of making the Italian national team?
There must be some kind of friction between him and Nuno that no one is talking about.

Or maybe he's a young player who joined a team at the very end of the summer transfer window and is adapting to the demands of a very competitive league and different playing style. A player that had his confidence and way of life turned upside down by his beloved team selling him out to us unexpectedly.

Like Neto he needs time to bed in and is starting way behind due to his circumstances. He's starting behind one of the finest strikers the club has seen in a hell of a long time and will be getting better behind the scenes every day. 6 months to break into a new team isn't exactly unheard of. Maybe he's frustrated - he's young and ambitious - but everything coming out of the club is positive and nurturing from the player and the manager. I'm sure he will be being looked after and managed and will have all the facts in hand. rather than us speculating and trying to find a headline or some friction where there isn't any. It's probably better to rely on our club and coaching staff rather than the gossip rags and clickbait merchants, I reckon.

And with a season under his belt here, I'm sure he'll be one hell of a player. Hope it all works out.

You realize he is scoring at a 20+ goal per Premier League season pace, don't you?
How does he need to adapt?
And that still isn't going to make a difference when they select the Italian national team.

Also, why is Neto getting more time if they both started pretty much at the same time?
If he were getting the same game time as Neto, it probably wouldn't be an issue and he'd have 4 or 5 goals.

Where did Nuno tell you that, Debs, as it's news to me? To push on this season we need an extra midfielder (attacking) and a centre forward who can offer more than Cutrone's bit parts. See my Belotti posts.

OK cool, the only conclusion is he's fallen out with Nuno and he'll be leaving tomorrow.

Good news is that Nuno likes Max, workrate and willing to learn. Defender coming in (with Willy back in a month) will be a LB which let’s Jonny have the RWB option.

Every transfer window its the same. Everyone reading a snippet in the paper or hearing a pundits opinion and thinking it must be true. History has taught us that us fans don't know anything about transfers until they're completed a la Moutinho, Jimenez, Patricio, Dendoncker and Vallejo.

@ OldWolf E&S have quoted him directly about wanting a CB in January.

Surely it's the RCB position up for grabs

Cutrone isn't happy that's what I think anyway like Griffiths a few seasons back he never really wanted the move in the first place.
