Wolves are about to put a bid in for Seattle Sounders winger Steve Zakuani.

1.) 19 Jul 2013
He has just had surgery on a hernia problem, just after coming back from a broken leg.

2.) 20 Jul 2013
Not going to happen.
Dave Edwards is our new winger.
You really can`t make this up

I know yeh haha

4.) 20 Jul 2013
I rate Edwards highly, he's a good player but a winger he is not, not in the slightest in fact, he's an out and out attacking central midfielder. This is a mistake McCarthy constantly made, playing players out of position.

If Jackett is going to play all the other youngsters, why not just play Forde on the wing as it's his natural position and play Edwards in the central role with all his experience? I rate Jackett highly, but find his decision to play Edwards on the wing both wasteful and baffling.

5.) 20 Jul 2013
Rio Ferdinand midfield to centre back
Steve Gerrard centre forward to midfield
Ashley Cole winger to full back
Sir Alex played Rooney on the left and Ronaldo up front, these are just a few I could be bothered to think of. Stop being so naïve and pigeon holing players. It may or may not work this is what he is paid to do manage players.

6.) 20 Jul 2013
Because forde isn't ready to step up yet and neither is Zeli so were struggling on wingers both sides really.

And I think Davis and what I've seen of Evans and price are better cm than Edwards. So his only option to play really is rm

You can't compare Edwards to Rooney te reason they are world class players is because they can play in many positions. I'm a actually surprised you were able to post such a comment with such confidence. Not to mention the managers themselves knew what they were doing. Kenny is great, but Sir Alex, he is not. Don't play players out of position, it's simple.

Absolute tosh ManWolf. Many managers have played players out of positions that didn't work but continued to do so. Gary Gardner at Sunderland, Carrick at centre back, even Steven Fletcher was played at left midfield for Burnley. It's not about an individual talent but the teams success. Maybe Edwards for right midfield might be a good choice as for his willingness and hardwork to get back and defend. I personally think it's his best position as he gets to attack. In centre mid his passing isn't good enough. And the way this league is, it's practically impossible to play a plan A passing game. And worst case scenario he will be found out after the first couple of games and either forde or Zeli will get a chance. let's just calm down and not panic. Kenny Jacket is in charge not us. let's just cheer the team and hope for the clubs sake it works out. We are Wolves. Bring on the Wurzels!

How can so many managers and coaches, with years of experience, be wrong. Jackett won't be the first to play some players in a number of different positions. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, personally I'm happy to go with the guy who has over 20 years experience playing, couching and managing in football. JT.

Its a joke already the selections, if we lose to walsall, that's it, but they look pretty good to be fair,,,, edwards on the wing/

11.) 21 Jul 2013
All in saying is, look what happened when we played players out of position. Why risk it now when we have players to fill those positions? Especially now when things are going so well. We don't need to try and put our best players on the pitch, just the right ones. I just think people are getting carried away with what we as a club can and can't do. It's still not going to be an easy campaign, we've lost our 'best players' and don't have a clue who our best players our now. We have a league one team, not a championship one. Risks like playing players out of position is a big mistake in that respect.

And hang about? Aren't those another three premier league players?

'Stop being so naïve and pigeon holing players'.

What a strange thing to say, this isn't a naive comment in the slightest it's actually quite insightful. Players have their chosen positions for a reason, they spend their time improving their abilty in their chosen positions so why play them out of position when we have Forde?

Edwards is effective in central midfield and he also scores goals there, what has he done on the wing?

Jackett is a great manager but playing players out of position just isn't the way forward.
