Anyone heard any rumours on what tickets wolves will get for Girona. Pre season fixture

20 Jun 2025 15:07:57
Wolves see Kyle Walker-Peters as a potential replacement for Nelson Semedo

20 Jun 2025 15:30:03
I hope so Rated. His stats were better than Semedo's last season.
Would give us a strong option at RB.

20 Jun 2025 15:41:42
Free transfer, home grown, (important as we are short of those), good age (28) and on very modest wages currently - or at least last year as now a free agent!
This would appear to be a fairly sensible idea - hopefully Lima (or Hoever who I think has one year left?), will develop and become competition or even a replacement over the year - but in the short term he is adequate.
The counter argument is that although he is adequate he is in my view anyway a fairly significant downgrade on Semedo. Can we afford downgrades in the first 11 when we are looking to improve from 16th place?
But conversely can we afford to pay money out for an alternative RWB when hopefully we will be spending every penny we can afford improving elsewhere.
Whilst finding players better than RAN and Cunha is almost impossible we need to get as good as we can for those positions of LWB and number 10 and hope in other areas, our new RCB, replacing Doherty and other number 10, replacing Bellegarde we are able to find a couple of marked upgrades!

21 Jun 2025 11:10:11
A bit left field this one and certainly not a like for like Semedo replacement but who about a punt on Raheem Sterling on loan (if Arsenal agree to contribute to his wages)

21 Jun 2025 11:43:58
^Chelsea^

21 Jun 2025 12:06:21
Was a very high quality player. Question marks now about both fitness and attitude.
Suspect - like Son of Spurs another that wouldn't be completely insane, although he also looks "done" at the top level or wouldn't be available - he will have better paid if lower quality football options.
I believe however that we will need to look at loans, "left field" ideas and non obvious options.
Players who are obviously good enough to replace Cunha/Ran or who are clearly massive improvements on Yerson/Toti/Bellegarde etc are likely to be both out of our price range and unwilling to join Wolves.
Hence trawling in the overseas markets where we found Emmanuel, Andre, JSL and Gomes J our 4 remaining "stars" for less than £20m a pop on average! .

21 Jun 2025 12:11:19
I think KW-Peters wants to go back to Spurs

21 Jun 2025 13:01:59
No evidence of this, but I'm suspicious of players who have always been Southern based, I may be wrong but they seem to want to stay southern based.

20 Jun 2025 10:21:23
Leeds now looking at Hugo Bueno.
My opinion, Do one haha

21 Jun 2025 09:11:20
Hugo Bueno is a star in the making, Wolves through and through and more than worthy of replacing AN in my opinion. Should definitely NOT be sold or loaned out.

19 Jun 2025 21:08:51
Rumours are that Semedo is set to leave on a free at the end of June.

His current contract is at £80k per week.
The club have allegedly offered him a new 4 year contract at £100k per week

Benfica offered £50k per week
Marseille offered £60k per week
Unnamed Saudi club set to offer him £250k per week.

20 Jun 2025 07:48:37
Time to move on he does not want to play for us anymore and I think we can do better with a more attacking player in his position.

20 Jun 2025 20:57:22
The Captain's curse strikes again. They don't last long in that job do they?

19 Jun 2025 10:20:56
Rumour is

Callum Wilson on a FREE

19 Jun 2025 10:38:29
Good shout

19 Jun 2025 11:28:52
Experienced, would be a useful signing.

19 Jun 2025 11:30:04
No thanks he's always injured.

19 Jun 2025 12:02:48
Have to agree with Shada here, if he wasn't always injured/returning from injury then he wouldn't be leaving on a free! Add to this that at 33 he's just had his first season where he hasn't actually scored all season then I just can't see him justifying the (likely) large wages! 👍

19 Jun 2025 13:17:42
Made of glass. No thanks.

19 Jun 2025 18:06:03
I would welcome him with open arms, if.

He comes in on a low salary and gets paid per appearance and goal.

19 Jun 2025 20:27:14
Seemingly Yuri Alberto is available at £17m would be a great buy at that price. How true that is who knows? Probably click bait but at that price I'm sure we would be interested.

19 Jun 2025 21:23:05
Tim that is a sensible response.
We can't afford to be paying non playing players but if he stays fit he is a screaming bargain.
So compromise with a structured contract as you suggest.
Note would be HG too and we are short on those

20 Jun 2025 00:26:07
He is past it.
Should have signed him with Fiber years ago.

20 Jun 2025 15:48:34
We had the chance years ago were looking at him or Leon Clarke, we know what happened there

19 Jun 2025 09:52:50
Cunha and RAN were always leaving - focus on what we have within the club and a few clever signings and we will be fine.

SA (or if going POPE/hermanson from Leicester)
Missed a trick not getting Betteneli (Eng quoter experienced back up)

Mosquera (back from inj)
Agbadoo
Toti
Doc, Djiga, Bueno (backUP) and loan Mpemiou to get game time

Bueno / Rodrigo LWB (and make a loan signing)

Lima / Rodrigo RWB - make a solid signing

No CM will want to come and play understudy to Andre / Jao so CM will be tough but try find a similar profile to them pair and get them in long term

Munetsi, JRB, Traore (if stays) as back up and Agbadoo can play

Sign 2 exciting no10's who fit the system Guessard looks a great Cunha style replacement, and i would go get Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich or even take a chance on Chiesa on-loan from Liverpool

JRB, Rodrigo gomes further forward, Munetsi (but prefer CM backup) and get Mane involved. I know it's left field but i think Chiqinho with a good pre-season could offer something

Strand Larson picks himself up top

Needs a back up experienced striker (like a Girourd 3 or 4 years ago) who could impact games off the bench, and a CF with potential to develop

Doyle on loan to prem club (as will lose money if we sell 50% sell on)

Sarabia, Semedo leaving

Get money for Silva, Hwang, Guedes, Johnstone maybe even Bueno / Traroe if players come in

19 Jun 2025 21:33:50
Tks good post
We would need those 2 number 10s to be very good indeed. However Guessard as one of them may well be.
The defence is however a lot weaker without Semedo and RAN who also both, especially RAN, added a fair bit to our offence. Consequently we might need your signings at WB, especially at RWB, to be first choices not back ups.
Also think we need to strengthen the back up CBs as Doc may no longer be up to being first cab off the rank and I don't rate S Bueno and don't know Djiga.
Being greedy I want a new back up GK and CF

18 Jun 2025 17:27:36
Raul Moro in talks according to Talking Wolves. 22 year old winger.

18 Jun 2025 20:07:49
Sorry, Wolves have shown an interest, but he is in talks with Ajax.

18 Jun 2025 14:57:31
An experienced player up for grabs could be a certain Leander Dendoncker.

18 Jun 2025 16:05:01
I also saw us being linked with resigning Coady on Sky, strange times indeed 🧐

19 Jun 2025 09:46:44
Both good additions for squad depth Said Donk would have been good in January.

19 Jun 2025 11:32:48
We certainly need depth and experience, in addition to young first team starters.

20 Jun 2025 17:06:52
Can’t believe we are even considering either of these two options. Both struggled toward the end of their time first time around. Both have declined significantly since them
There is no place for sentiment in this league. It is improving year on year and becoming ever more competitive. Increasingly difficult for promoted teams.
Surely lessons will be learned from last year when we found ourselves in a relegation dog fight with them. Whose to say one or two might buck the trend and move comfortably into mid-table safety. We need upgrades in all areas of the team and neither of these will provide that.

17 Jun 2025 08:36:19
Has anyone heard if Lopez deal has been finalised and if there is any news on a medical being planned yet?

17 Jun 2025 11:21:51
Talking Wolves posted last night that it may be a Loan with obligation to buy.

17 Jun 2025 14:26:00
Medical set for Wednesday.

17 Jun 2025 15:49:02
I literally posted it was done the otherday :)

17 Jun 2025 16:39:48
Just announced on Sky Sports £19.6m with £1.7mpotential add-ons

16 Jun 2025 11:24:59
Wolves have made a bid for Guessand for around £25m Sterling but also has interest from fenerbache and Brighton unclear if they have bid but players preference is premier league one to watch this week

16 Jun 2025 20:50:56
It doesn't matter who we sign or for how much.

If we buy a youngster for £20m, the same posters will say that we're wasting money on unproven and inexperienced players.

We buy an experienced 27 year old for £20m, the same fans claim the club are either looking to buy cheap or players past their prime.

16 Jun 2025 21:08:03
Love the way some of you still say "We" when the club do anything, there is no we since Fosun took over, it's them and us.

16 Jun 2025 21:13:58
Sorry. They.

17 Jun 2025 09:02:40
Personally, I use 'we' when referring to the Club but 'they' when referring to the owners. The Club and it's fans were here long before the owners and will be long after, so I see the two as separate especially since they effectively distanced themselves.

17 Jun 2025 11:05:51
Equally the same posters will continue to tell us all that selling our best players year on year is a solid way to grow a squad, despite our league position suggesting otherwise. Then by Xmas they will be blaming which ever poor manager is in charge at this point, only to hail the 'saviour manager' bought in Jan to save the day (never mind the fact that this one gets some actual transfer budget unlike the last guy). Rinse and repeat this process every 2-3 seasons and you should be fine.
It's almost like this is an opinions forum and everyone has different opinions eh?! 😬🐺

17 Jun 2025 11:07:50
Greetings Long, agree.there is 'our' Club and there is 'their' business.
ps
Looks like they have dispensed with a Head of Football, created an additional 'strategy dept', with all football departments now reporting directly to the Owners 'representative' in the UK.
As always, I will travel optimistically.

17 Jun 2025 13:19:27
It's literally Groundhog Day Bully's, every season of late. However, have lessons been learnt in Shanghai? The local media say 'yes' but the sales of Cunha and RAN are telling us 'no'.

Ok, every club loses players, usually for football reasons or to ward off a PSR breach and that's fine. My question is why have Wolves reorganised the football management side to such a great extent. Are they gearing up for a more ambitious approach or is to squeeze even more blood out of the same stone.

Hope it's the former but so far this window it points to the latter. It's what happens going forward that now matters.

Hi Rugeley, let's hope your optimism isn't wasted but if it's, as I've described it before, same play different actors then we're still screwed, imo. As you suggest Jeff does appear to be re-engaged on the football side, hence the re-emergence of Mendes which may be a reason to be more hopeful.
