Liverpool, Crystal Palace and *Wolves* have indicated their interest in signing 22-year-old Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr from relegated Watford.

If true do Wolves really need another winger?

04 Aug 2020 02:07:16
Apparently "Paris St-Germain want to sell former Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye and Wolves are interested in the Senegal international" Le10 Sport.

04 Aug 2020 05:50:14
He is a master of breaking up play making tackles and starting counter attacks. If Nuno wants a defense minded midfielder (speculation)

Very neat and tidy on the ball as well. We could do a lot worse. Anyone of that quality would have to say would be an unreal signing.

04 Aug 2020 12:44:12
We badly need a goal-scoring midfielder. I like Gueye but he's a different sort of option. Bruno Fernandes would have been fantastic for us. Look at the difference he's made at Manure. Imagine if we found a young Frank Lampard. That's how we should be thinking.

04 Aug 2020 13:41:23
@ Deep Throat I'm wondering if that role is earmarked Meritan Shabani? My wish list would be a Defender and an AMF.

04 Aug 2020 15:09:55
The way we play doesn't really accommodate too much of an attack minded Midfielder. I do get your points. But look how much defending Moutinho and Neves do. The structure they fit within is quite rigid. They almost never break through a lines with a dribble. About the closest thing we have MGW and Nuno doesn't seem convinced with that one.

03 Aug 2020 13:19:28
Forgive the nostalgia. linked with William Carvalho again.

In fairness I don't think that would be a bad buy for us. Adds some bite and defensive solidity in midfield.
Not too many stronger bigger players out there in the same position.

Many will say it's a more attack minded midfielder we should be after. But it doesn't seem to be the type of midfielder Nuno favours. I'm hoping we pull a player or two in next couple months at least.

03 Aug 2020 23:44:57
It's crazy season looking at transfer gossip we are going to sign 8_10 players as far as I see every single one of them are what people in the supposedly football circle think we need and who they think would make us a better club and there not even wolves supporters I like podence and I think he will be a real good player and very tricky and fast IMO we need a big defensive midfielder so our creative players can feed our front 3 and score goals and maybe a big defensive player to keep boly coady and sais on there toes but overall I'm happy if nuno is he ain't done us wrong took us to a new level.

02 Aug 2020 14:55:55
From SKYsports

Wolves ended the season with fewer than 10 league defeats for the first time in the top division since they last won the title, in 1958-59 (with nine defeats in 42 games) .

Based on that how can anyone be negative about what we have achieved?

02 Aug 2020 15:20:25
Agreed. Just need to turn draws into wind.

02 Aug 2020 16:40:40
Agreed, early draws in the season were a sticking point. But season after season since Nuno became manager Wolves have improved. That's no fluke.

02 Aug 2020 17:51:30
Good post RKO. NigelT there is a joke there somewhere. 🤣.

03 Aug 2020 08:06:19
Bloody predictive text!

01 Aug 2020 12:07:27
Chelsea or Arsenal today who do you think would be best result for us today?
I'm happy either way if we want to be a top club we have to manage extra games in Europe and still maintain top league form. We have proved we can do that by being the best of the rest outside the top 6.
New signings a gem coming through the u23s will push us on the road to the top. There still loads of time to grow and progress in Fosun's 10 year plan.

01 Aug 2020 13:40:08
Arsenal please. we need a rest.

01 Aug 2020 14:46:54
Hope chelsea win, we need to be positive and if we are going places then we have to be competing with the best, and try and win something, what the games all about.
Fosun want us up there, that's why they invested the money
So let's be positive, let's face it on our day we can beat anyone, we are due some luck with refereeing decisions so let's hope we can get some luck in Europa and go all the way.

01 Aug 2020 16:25:57
Agree bigwolf, fosun have given us a super manager, who step by step is gathering a squad of immense talent. Maybe just like vista, cavaliers and co, were let go because they had done the job of getting us to that first phase, maybe their replacements have got us to next phase and it's time to move one or two on and fill there places with more class, potential class recruits. Coyw.

01 Aug 2020 16:29:59
Hoping that Chelsea win so we're guaranteed a European spot, we then win the Europa League so enter the CL and Arsenal miss out altogether.

01 Aug 2020 18:51:50
Chelsea please. Maximise European experience, more games means chances to expand squad.

01 Aug 2020 19:02:49
Well it looks like Arsenal are in the Europa.

01 Aug 2020 19:18:46
We will win it and get into CL.

01 Aug 2020 19:21:39
It's alright lads. We only have to win the thing outright now in the next few weeks. Easy job. keeps things nice and simple.

01 Aug 2020 19:57:07
Yes yes 👌 we will give it our best shot.
Lets make history 😊.

01 Aug 2020 20:54:04
Very doubtful.

01 Aug 2020 21:26:33
It's the Villa fan again. You do team talks too?

02 Aug 2020 08:50:34
If I supported a team that cheated pram survival by getting a clear goal against ignored I think I would keep a low profile.

30 Jul 2020 23:37:21
From Joe Edwards who I find more reliable than most and certainly a lot more reliable than talkingWolves.

Worth noting the Raul Jimenez stuff was a relatively throwaway line in those Portuguese reports. Bottom of story. Of course, there'll be clubs having a look. Wouldn't lose any sleep over it yet though. As for Paulinho, looking into it but not heard anything concrete yet.

31 Jul 2020 09:12:47
It's the story that the media want and you can sense them trying to push it over the line. It's easy to believe it because it seems to be coming from so many different sources, but truth is it's just one source which anyway was just an assumption based on an offer made for another player. Then the rest of the media follow like sheep creating click-bait.

31 Jul 2020 12:35:18
Exactly Victory mate, I take no notice of the media as it's well known Wolves do not and never hace discussed any transfers with them until they happen.

31 Jul 2020 15:52:33
To be fair the only thing interesting during the summer break is transfer gossip - but if it's treated as gossip it's a good laugh IMO. Except when it comes to the Brum Mail, they're awful. they merge two stories to make a tangible headline " Man Utd. Move sanctioned" read the story a former player or manager passes comment on a speculative transfer. Rant over.

31 Jul 2020 21:07:53
I think Paulinho is happening but that one source got hold of it put 2+2 together and came up with 5, Raul won't go and Paulinho will be bought in to take the strain of Raul a bit.

01 Aug 2020 09:53:35
It’s all click-bait to generate advertising money. They can say they get “x volume of internet traffic per day” and charge for advertisements accordingly.

01 Aug 2020 13:50:06
Brum Mail gets paid for clicks. Click on an advert and they earn from in. Pretty standard. That's why you get those ridiculous headlines such as "Wolves Sanction Transfer", only to find, amongst all the adverts, that the Wolves tea lady is retiring to live with her family in Wales.

30 Jul 2020 16:56:09
@talkingwolves have tweeted that Jimenez is 'on his way' to Man Utd. Reading the replies it states that their source is RTP who apparently never lie.

30 Jul 2020 18:39:13
@talkingwolves later stated "Reading the article again, it seems like Jimenez moving to Manchester United is more of an assumption than anything"

30 Jul 2020 18:56:11
Hopefully there is no truth in the story at all. Dias, Vertonghen and Paulinho would do for me. I think we've got enough in midfield with Neves, Moutinho, Saiss, Dendoncker, Jordao and Shabani.

30 Jul 2020 20:48:47
Seems to be doing the rounds all over.

I think losing him would be a massive mistake. He offers more than anything we could replace him with. Would just feel like a massive step back. If I had to pick one player above all others to stay with us to the next stage it would be Raul.

30 Jul 2020 22:37:11
I agree Tom, I think almost ANYONE else is replaceable! Strikers that score a consistent 15-20 in the Prem are like gold dust, Strikers that can do that and will come to us even rarer! So if we did let him go it better be for an absolute fortune! COYW.

30 Jul 2020 22:50:52
RJ has the best hold up play in the PL, losing him would be a massive blow.

30 Jul 2020 23:35:12
The Beeb is reporting the same story now (quoting the same source too, via the Express)

31 Jul 2020 00:44:07
He would be a massive miss from the faithful if Raul leaving is true but I'm not convinced we are selling our assets is the new wolves way under Morgan I would believe anything but under fosun we are a different beast they have made us much better outfit and they have long term plans so I trust they know what they are doing but that palinho looks excellent little player and the prize is not half bad I'll take him and our nuno likes him a lot.

31 Jul 2020 05:59:17
I am hoping its total rubbish. News outlet she's us going for Paulinho. Jumps on the story 'Raul must be moving'like a dog on hot chips.

Seems to follow form anyway. Think we all hope its rubbish.

Paulinho I'd be happy with though as as a backup.

31 Jul 2020 09:18:02
Come on Jimenez is going, I reckon the reason for his lacklustre performance against Chelsea not all down to new baby, was he had its on his mind, hope Nuno stays, but if we do offload our top players. Who knows. Worrying times,

31 Jul 2020 10:15:50
Meant United on his mind. Bloody predictive text😁.

31 Jul 2020 11:31:26
Can't agree about the midfielders, Jas, because to more up to the next level we need a midfielder who can score regularly. Good as our midfield is, it is lacking when it comes to regular goalscoring.
As for back up for Raul, watch out for discussions on Brentford's Ollie Watkins if they don't get past Fulham in the playoffs.

31 Jul 2020 14:06:14
I know what you're saying Old Wulf. Looking through our squad list, we have Dendoncker who we all know can score but we also have Meritan Shabani who is an attacking midfielder but because of injury, we haven't seen much of him. So although we do need a goalscoring midfielder, I would prioritise the defence and attack first.

31 Jul 2020 17:24:55
If JR leaves then it will be curtains for us mark my words, you just need to look back at our past when we sell our goal scores (ie Keane and look what happened) .

31 Jul 2020 17:55:49
Can’t see Nuno sanctioning anything ahead of Olympiacos game. Incomings and outgoings would have a disruptive effect on team spirit, which is a key component of our success. Anything or anybody who threatens that cohesiveness is swiftly dispatched. Douglas and Bennett being examples of this.
Of course everything will change if we progress to next stage of Europa Cup, as that takes us much closer to start of next campaign. Options will be identified and bids lodged for a number of players. Success in Europa Cup and Champions League qualification would probably mean our number one targets could be signed.
All a bit boring for now, but good things come to those who wait!

31 Jul 2020 20:16:43
What a game it will be if we can get thru to semis, and play man u.
See how Jimenez performs then.
Mouthwatering. Can't wait.

31 Jul 2020 21:50:59
Worrying times indeed.

01 Aug 2020 18:59:51
Depends on what you read and believe, reports from Mexico say he's happy at wolves and their source is allegedly a Mr R Jiminez. It's all just heresay whoever writes it, I'd much rather just wait for any announcement on the official website

By the way SQ, it's not worrying times it's RUMOURED to be worrying.

30 Jul 2020 11:04:50
Moyes after Gibbs-White? Doesn't sound like a West Ham/ Moyes signing. Are they trying to wind us up because we were sniffing around Antonio?

30 Jul 2020 16:25:39
He can leave asap for me. Flatters to deceive.

31 Jul 2020 07:51:19
He had a couple of good games when he broke into the team but has never consistently delivered I am not sure he's an international in the making but he should move on if another manager can give him a chance.

30 Jul 2020 10:20:41
Wolves have put in €30 bid for braga striker Paulinho 27.

30 Jul 2020 13:25:30
Seems a lot for a player valued at 4.3m.

30 Jul 2020 16:24:53
Victory V, you can't just make up a Value and post it as True Value he's Worth.
€30m is the Buyout Vakue in his Clause and Wolves have to Match it.

30 Jul 2020 17:18:20
I get your point. In all honesty though mate your figures coming from the Transfernarkt website they usually tend to be way off the mark.

29 Jul 2020 10:53:58
That Allan Saint Maximan rumour has surfaced again.

For me doesn't seem likely for a few reasons.

For one wingers is not really an area we lack. Jota/ Adama Podence/ Neto happy with all of those. Unless we loose a player.

29 Jul 2020 12:56:06
Linked with Jan Vertonghen according to @talkingwolves.

29 Jul 2020 14:39:21
Yeah saw that one Jas. Interesting I'd take him. Still has something to offer a top team.

As long as his wages don't break the bank.

29 Jul 2020 14:56:18
I'd be happy with Jan Vertonghen, he's thirty-three so not exactly a lame duck, plenty of PL/ Europe exp. so he ticks all the boxes (free transfer too, POTENTIAlLY)

29 Jul 2020 17:23:55
Apparently, he was on £100k per week, same as Moutinho is on. Offer him £75k and a decent signing on fee and see how it goes.

29 Jul 2020 17:56:44
Read that he wants a three year deal. Could be rubbish at 33 I'd be more inclined to offer 2 and see how it goes.

29 Jul 2020 18:05:42
Why did we not get Danny Ings. what a season he has had.

29 Jul 2020 18:06:35
Sounds like a plan Jas.

29 Jul 2020 19:04:28
We didn't sign Ings because he wanted to play for the club he supports - Southampton. One he knew they were interested and willing to pay the transfer fee he had his heart set on moving there. Very much like when we signed Dennis Irwin. Other clubs were interested but as a Wolves fan, he couldn't pass up the chance to play for us.

30 Jul 2020 05:23:54
Doesn't seem our bag to try and dislodge established prem players. The fees for one too high.

I only issue we have is finding a striker who is good enough but also willing to play a bit part.

Cutrone wasnt having any of it. Feel it's going to be someone either incredibly young. Or right at the end of their career.

30 Jul 2020 07:58:39
Maybe Campana will play some part next season.

30 Jul 2020 10:10:23
Agree that established prem players not really our thing. Good place to start is usually the relegated clubs and avoiding the obvious like Callum Wilson, David Brooke and Cantrell. We need a strong midfielder and experienced cover for Raul. Ideally Raul cover would be decent in the air, get in the box and able to lay balls off to the fast forwards. But also happy to play the last 20 mins. So how about Welbeck for a season or two. Nuno's coaching our medical team and seems to meet no dickhead rule. Midfielder maybe a bid for Lerner or Pilling at Bournemouth.

31 Jul 2020 07:54:30
Vertongen could be exactly what we need.

31 Jul 2020 11:32:43
Welbeck? Sicknote more like. Good player but his body can't take the rigours of ongoing training and playing unfortunately.
