Personally I don't think we went for this guy - it's more likely that the west London press linked us as we beat QPR to the signing of Bodvarsson which upset them and this makes them look better in the eyes of their fans. We are now being linked with just about anyone and everyone. Talisca is on his way very soon. Hopefully a couple more at least will follow this week - winger and a defensive central midfielder would be the first two I'd say we need. Thereafter maybe a centre back and another striker.

Ikeme has never been the best commanding keeper with great distribution to get moves going from the back or midfield - we need better
You watch him and see how long it takes him to release the ball to get us going
Or how many times will he ping a 50 yard cross field half volleyed pass directly to one of our midfield players
He always looks like he's smoked something before a game and he's way too quiet
Just my 2pence lol - can you tell I'm not his biggest fan.

I agree that from the old squad Dicko, Graham and Zyro are good enough but I'd also add Ikeme, Iorfa and Hause to make 6. Shame only 3 of them are currently fit. Iorfa should be played as centre back alongside Hause.

Ikeme is good enough for the bench at best, I've followed him his whole career and would he be your number one choice, he's not crap but sorry he doesn't and has never been able to think fast enough
If he's that good let's see how much longer her lasts because trust me Zenga was world class for Inter and Italy and there will be no one better to decide on that position
I like the guy but nope not no.1 for me.

It is not a position we need to strengthen anytime soon.
A new centre back yes but not for Batth. I agree he had a bed spell end of last season. But we where so toothless when your are constantly defending cracks appear. Not totally down to his ability.
In any good side re-build or not needs a good solid spine.

Yeah Ikeme is just a international keeper and well regarded. As well as keeping us in many games. Same as bart.
But tell me after we reach the FFP limit what will we do when stuck with a team of individuals?
You want us to be a man city. When we should aim for spurs or Leicester. I want a good team not a bunch of mercenaries and egos.
To any future player. Sign for baggies or villains. They will treat you better and won't turn on you at the drop of a hat.

Till we see all the new signings in action it's hard to know how last season's team works with them or maybe they are not dead certs themselves either
I want Price as defensive MF I think he will adapt better than Evans or Coady to whatever Zenga wants.
We are not going for a total clear out most of these players will be with us all season so let's not get fussy.

where's this reported? He used to be quality for this division but has lost a bit since having a couple of long-term injuries - if he can get back to what he was he'd be quality but it is a risk and wages would be quite high unless he takes a pay cut.

I'd personally take Alberto from Liverpool over Mutch, if Palace want £6m. And I'd definitely take Sako over Mutch. The Palace fans don't rate him at all and this concerns me, tbh, not to mention his horrific injury record. No, please leave him.

Jordan Mutch is a very good player at this level box to box midfielder, Sako and Alberto are attacking players so can't really compare.

^^read what Palace fans think and you wouldn't say that. As for Alberto and Sako, I was talking from a money point of view, not positional. Gokhan Inler is a better player in this position, in my view.

When Cardiff were in Prem Mutch came close to winning the player of the year - I'd rate him just as good as Inler (except for his injury problems which mean he's a gamble now - and 1 I doubt we'll take) .

Maybe the mighty Rotherham were inspired to play out of their skins by their Manager who galvanised them with the fact Mendes was there, and they were all keen to impress? I think we're bringing in so many loan players because we're feeling our way. If we wanted to spend big on permanent signings, FFP wouldn't hold us back, we'd just do what the likes of Bournemouth did (ignore FFP and pay a paltry fine) . Also, FFP is more relaxed now and takes a 3-year view. No point in making big signings unless they are absolutely right. Also, big signings won't want to come to us unless it looks like we will go up.

It does make you wonder why Fosun aren't spending massively (other than the Tulisca rumour) and are signing players like Bodvarsson or this Metz chap. Especially when you consider how much they want to get into the Premiership this season.

Perhaps at the moment, the league we are in., we aren't a big enough prospect to attract players on 3 year deals? We could be getting these players in on season long loans and contracts, with an agreement to extend if we have a successful year. I may be wrong, just an idea!

I'd guess because their first choice Manager took the Spanish job, most of the already scouted and lined up potential signings were probably his choice and they've had to look at it all again. And then the deal seems to have taken longer to finalise than they seemed to expect, so have less time now than they probably expected in order to find their feet.
Talisca still seems to be on, but who knows if others were lined up but were then dropped because of change in new Manager? Walter needs to work out the team tactics and how he wants to play in the Chump, then get players in to fit with that. Our first 'proper' transfer window where we really know what we want / need may not be until Winter.
And while Fosun have stated their absolute desire to get to Prem and as soon as possible, I don't think it's realistic to expect that this season, we need to work so much out and let it gel first. We've not even had a proper pre-season, and are trying to take a threadbare squad forward that was only mid table last season, and is still hampered by injuries for a while.
Have to say I'm disappointed with some of the attitudes I'm seeing on Mol Mix etc, where people 'expect' promotion this season, like it's their right. It's like they are so frustrated at Moxey and Morgan not having got us anywhere, that it's overdue and so Fosun must do it immediately. And they have money so apparently we've a right for them to throw it around without a care, just to satisfy our impatience. It's not fair or realistic, Fosun aren't the ones who've failed us before, they don't deserve our frustration that belongs to Moxey attaching to them and all that unreasonable pressure.
We need to give them a chance, we should be supporting them with open minds, pushing them up, not applying unfair frustration and expectation on them that is likely to only be a weight and push them down. This season we should just enjoy it without expectation, show good will and good heart, if we do better than Kenny did last season and show some seeds of style and quality that can be evolved into the full thing, I reckon that's a positive start, and we can get properly serious next season once they are bedded in.

Agree with pretty much everything you say ulf apart from Lopetgui was not Fosuns first choice. He was taking the position if we were taken over by Robin Li not these guys so I wish everyone would stop keep saying our first choice took the Spain job and let us down. Who knows Zenga may have been first choice for Fosun but what we all need to do is get completely behind the team and manager, quit the negative comments about the new signings just because we have not heard of them. Remember we had not heard of Sako and he did alright. On the other hand established names don't always work at a different club for example Robbie Keane has done fantastic at every club except Liverpool. I am however a bit peed off that we have not gone after proven championship players as well such as Pritchard and McCormack but for all those wanting Alan Judge I don't think he would pass a medical with the badly broken leg suffered at the end of the season. I think Lopetgui has actually said since Fosun took over, that he was their choice but had to pull out as couldn't turn down the National Spanish job. There's an interview on E&S about it, he even said he respected Kenny for putting up with it all and staying professional.
I think Robin Li was just a smoke screen and was never involved, at least as a front man, Lopetgui was Fosun's man. I'm glad though that we got Zenga instead, I think he's a perfect fit personality wise, just need him to make it work on the pitch.
I agree though with everything you say, would have been good to get some solid quality Champ experience in, maybe some players like that will turn up before window closes, or if not, maybe they'll learn we need them and do it in the Winter window?

Talisca isn't a winger, he plays centrally behind the striker or can also be as the left sided striker. Costa is a left winger as is Graham and Zyro.
The right wing is the problem as we only have Henry in this position, thus the reason for us enquiring about possible loan deals for Macmanaman, Janazaj or buying Ngbakoto - not a bad difference, I know.
I also read that we want to bring in a 32yr old Swiss midfielder (was once rated at £15m) called Isler to either play with or instead of Teixeira, who needs time to adjust. Therefore, front six would be; Dicko, Bodvarsson, Costa, Talisca, Isler and Ngbakoto (? )

Yeni Ngbakoto - maybe right footed and able to play either wing or as a striker but having seen him on youtube he looks much better on left wing with the option to cut inside, can also go outside and cross with outside of right foot (never seen anyone do it so well and at speed before) .
His youtube looks as good as Teixeira's!
Strangely gazzumping QPR again and seeing off Burnley would definitely show intent.
