Second bit of information regarding neves. The fee was agreed late saturday afternoon. This then gave porto enough time to submit their yearly ffp accounts which were ok and ratified hence wolves and mendes getting them out of their mess. Neves wasnt at their 1st day of training today as he's expected to fly in to have his medical either today or tmrw and formalise the details.
His wifes also pregnant so would imagine he would want his family settled fairly quickly.

Couple of bits of news, firstly concerning neves. Porto have recalled nigerian mikel agu from his loan spell at vitoria setubal to fill the void in their midfield as with their money issues they can't afford to re invest the transfer fee they will receive from selling neves to us. Also looks like we've been scouting a 19 yr old striker from brugge called pierre fonkeu. This maybe a player thelwells looked at. Wolves are interested along with stoke and norwich. can't see him going to norwich as they have plenty of forwards and not long signed one.

If you want to see a big club in Championship - look at Villa signing Terry. Wolves might get Hart, if he takes a pay cut. But with Neves, Wolves are just a stalking horse to drive up price and demand. Same with Talisca one year ago. Batth will remain captain - not some B side player from Portugal who does not speak English. Only change is if Batth joins Terry at Villa for £2million.

It's looking likely, although still hard to believe. With Neves, Costa, Cavaleiro and Miranda we would have a Portuguese core that should blast through the Championship. Plus Saiss, Oniangue, Graham, Iorfa, Hause, Marshall, Zyro, Bodvarsson, Douglas and let's chuck Ikeme, Doherty, Batth and Edwards' names in too that's an exciting team. Then there's the younger players.

We're signing players that are in and around the Portuguese national team.
That is pretty impressive.
But if you think-Portugal are currently European champions.
It makes it even more so. If we were signing players in and around the England team people would be going nuts! But Portugal are a way better team.

England aren't great Ed but to call Portugal a way better team is wrong. They have one world class player and many good ones and hardly won the Euros through their scintillating football. They also looked very ordinary in the Confederations Cup. Time to judge acquisitions will be when we see them in the flesh but as yet we haven't added any much-needed flair players or goalscorer to the squad. There's time for that to happen of course.
