Shortlist whittled down to final 3:
Nigel Pearson, Paul Lambert and Tim Sherwood.

31 Oct 2016 17:15:49
God help us if we end up with Sherwood.

31 Oct 2016 17:17:27
So I have heard.

Three managers who know the English game at this kind of level and have worked with a diverse team like Wolves is now. Don't know which I would prefer. They all have mixed records. Just have to hope we're one of the successes.

31 Oct 2016 17:27:49
If that is the final 3 il take any of them rather than our last two managers and interim manager! Some Wolves fans need to look where we are and not live in the past! At least Big Jeff has realised we need a British manager, with experience. šŸ‘ If I had a preference it would be Lambert, but would back any of those 3.

31 Oct 2016 17:29:39
All three show a total lack of ambition.

31 Oct 2016 17:51:20
Really not sure who would be best but no-one has mentioned Graham Turner yet!

31 Oct 2016 18:03:33
I'd honestly be giving major consideration to giving the job to Edwards.

31 Oct 2016 18:13:33
Edwards! You did see the cack served up at Blackburn didn't you, tell you what let's get Saunders or Conner back in.

31 Oct 2016 18:34:25
Sherwood has done nothing but get sacked twice. Where is the experience of success in that? Pearson has the recent track record but seems to blow up under pressure so of the three I would prefer Lambert, however it just shows there aren't many good British managers any longer. That's the sad truth.

31 Oct 2016 18:56:15
Cmon let's just look at who's available at the moment. We've notngot a lot of choice and maybe Jeff should've listened to us all when we were asking for Bruce. For me Sherwood would give them a good kick up the arse. He didn't get Villa relegated and took them to FA Cup final so let's give him a go.

31 Oct 2016 19:00:04
Ideally, Paul Ince will get a management job elsewhere, prove himself and then take over here in a few years time. He has the drive and passion but we can't take the risk of his inexperience hindering us.

31 Oct 2016 20:19:04
Think Sherwood is the best of that bunch nothing would have stopped the Vile going down. If we don't have managers who have been sacked then we would ended up with no one. Fan power lost us Bruce last time sure we wouldn't be bottom half of Championship if he'd have come look what he's done at the Vile.

31 Oct 2016 23:05:33
Lambert now 4/ 9 favourite. Pearson 5/ 2. Sherwood 11/ 2.

31 Oct 2016 22:35:19
People need remember Sherwood got Spurs to 5th in premium league finish. prior to pochitino only Redknapp had done that good. Villa had been shite for ages. they were beyond help.

31 Oct 2016 23:39:54
Of the 3 I'd prefer Sherwood. He's younger and never been given a chance to establish himself. He would also bring in a backroom staff of Chris Ramsey and Leslie Ferdinand and possibly Ray Wilkins which will only benefit us. He wasn't allowed to bring Ferdinand and Ramsey with him to Villa and they really suffered coupled with a chairman who was unwilling to invest in the team. Sherwood is an excellent coach and highly regarded and could do a good job here if given time to imprint his vision on the team.

31 Oct 2016 23:55:14
Lowwolf, is being the Premiership champions showing a lack of ambition. Since it was Nigel Pearson players who achieved this event.

01 Nov 2016 00:22:43
I'm sure Vardy didn't play much under Pearson, or Drinkwater. And it was Ranieri who signed Kante. But to be fair he did sign Mahrez.

01 Nov 2016 00:38:10
Also, it was Ranieri who bought in Fuchs and Huth. Pearson hardly played Drinkwater, Mahrez or Vardy.

01 Nov 2016 08:54:37
Isn't life funny? We would have been better off keeping Jackett after all of this.

01 Nov 2016 09:08:57
Leicester fans accused their club of lacking ambition by appointing Ranieri. ManU on the other hand have gone for top names and haven't really done better than the tired team Moyes managed a few years ago.

It's partly luck. Sometimes the team gels, like Leicester did last season or the Spanish national team did for a few years. Sometimes it doesn't, like the "superstars" that Mick managed for us.

We might as well re-appoint Jackett or McCarthy as they haven't managed the players we now have at our disposal. There's no reason why either will do worse than the three names in the ring.

I am warming to Lambert at the moment. Sherwood might be a one trick pony and Pearson seems too much like Zenga to me.

01 Nov 2016 09:19:48
I don't agree, how often do managers achieve success everywhere they go? Remember Mcghee? was supposed to be the next Fergy. I believe in horses for courses. Would any of you take Eddie Howe? thought so, yet his previous job for Burnley his win rate was not good. We need a change in direction, Edwards just played the Zenga way which wasnt working. As for sticking with Jackett, don't make me laugh.
Lets get behind whoever it is, pearson or Sherwood for me.

01 Nov 2016 09:44:57
Good comment coolerboy, even great managers like clough, Stan cullis, mourenio pardon spelling got the sack.
Looks like we are going British and we can only pick from what's out there, so let's get on with it I would not choose Rob Edwards is team selection against Blackburn was a surprise to me with the team we were playing against and the form they were in, not positive enough for me with the team he chose that day, but that's not to say he will not be a good manager but for me no way at this present time.

01 Nov 2016 09:45:48
For anyone who's worried, I'm sure Shi knows what he's doing. I don't agree with Sherwood, either, but the reason is because he brings very strong back room staff. Pearson has the best win percentage (42%), Lambert (38%) .

01 Nov 2016 10:00:24
I have to agree with Paul Tamworth and others. Any one of the three contenders could work as long as they have full authority and give us 100% commitment. No point in dreaming about Big Sam or Eddie Howe. They are NOT interested. Get real.

Zenga was disappointing in the end, and he only had himself to blame. Commuting from halfway round the world, and not interested in the youngsters in the academy. Very cavalier. Our next manager must be totally and utterly immersed in the club.

01 Nov 2016 10:14:05
Pearson has done nothing on his own- witness Derby in the very recent past. For those of you shouting out "what about Leicester " I'd say that their success was probably more to do with Craig Shakespeare who is still there and doubtless had a major impact on the title winning side. These days the second in command or first team coach has to be looked at too because success or the lack of it isn't just down to the figurehead.

01 Nov 2016 11:29:49
Now that De Boer has been sacked I would like to bet will be linked with him now.

31 Oct 2016 13:31:41
don't worry guys paul ince is only being interviewed because wolves have agreed to the rooney rule implemented by fa.
I think paul lambert is going to be our next head coach and he will keep rob Edwards on as his assistant.

31 Oct 2016 14:28:39
Not Dougie Freedman?

31 Oct 2016 16:44:29
They are as both as bad Pearson lambert sherwood top 3 favs premier league lmao.

31 Oct 2016 17:28:50
But all better than zenga! I thankyou šŸ˜Š.
