Not happy with the performance today but we have to remember we are a work in progress there is a lot to rebuild after the horrible season that just passed I personally don't think we will kick on until the winter but we will be up there don't worry in stale we trust keep supporting it will come right in the end !

A bit early in the season to assess SS. Managers ofteh get sacked if they haven't made an impact after 10-12 games, though. And if there are no more significant wins by end October then he'll go.

I think most of us are optimistic, though. The signings look promising. The bit we don't understand is why they're not playing given the ineffectiveness of the incumbents. I guess we need to trust his judgement here, no matter how much we recall Mick signing players from abroad and not playing them.

Remember the que serra were going to barnsley at the end of last season vs city?THE ONLY REASON SOME OF THEM WERE AT BARNSLEY WAS BECAUSE THEY HAD A FREE TICKET! 21,000 at derby and there will be about 17,000 at lecister in a fortnight but i can be sure to say i will be there supporting my team from the off till the final whistle!

Ed what are the chances of getting Kevin Pezzoni, a 6'5" defender, who can also play in midfield, has just had his contract cancelled by mutual consent by FC Koln. He is 23 and has German U21 caps.

Pundit {Ed011's Note - I think it'd definitely be worth a try, who knows he might be quality. Solbakken would definitely know him and that could help him get him, it depends on whether Solbakken would think he's good enough, but hell can it get any worse? It's awful what's happened to Pezzoni and us as fans could have to play a part in him playing well I think, for those of you who don't know a group of Cologne fans attacked & threatened at his home last week and he's been at the centre of a lot of hatred from the fans for a while and he's recently quit the club as this guy said.

My father had a theory that for years players would only come to Wolves for the money. We ended up with lazy players rather than hungry players. In short, let's not fall into that trap again by signing players simply because they are available and have a good reputation. Make sure they have something to play for too.

I dont think SS will get us promoted this season but neither did Mick mccarthy in his first season so we just hav to be patient with him and it will be harder for SS because its a different type of football compared to the Super Liga

Re keeping MM till end of season - they knew they wanted SS soon after they fired MM but he wasn't available till 1 July presumably something to do with the terms of his contract from FCC. And we were heading for relegation anyway. Better to let him go - something which should have happened before Christmas but never mind. They tried to get Curbs short-term (and then possibly Walter Smith) but he wasn't interested.

Stop talking bout ED he's a good editor and DOOM DOOOM DOOOOM is more of a sensible reply than stale out

Hey guys. Don't you just love the championship. Last week Cardiff lose 4-2 to Bristol, who today beat us, but Barnsley beat Bristol. Yeah we played bad but I'm sure it was an off day. As I said before we are still trying to learn how to play together so let's be patient and get behind the boys. Sure some loan signings will be brought in. I know Stale won't be happy and be screaming murder at them all. Hopefully the players will buck up their ideas and know that the fizzy pop league is not as easy as some of them might think!

Thats the Championship 4 ya m8. So unpredictable and anyone can beat anybody on the day. Always suprises in this league.

how many loan signings can we make? I'd hope we do the same thing we have done with doumbia and peszko and sign a left and right back with view to permanent, frimpong just on loan to regain fitness, the man is class. a loan signing of a striker would be a bonus! live in hope! coyw

{Ed011's Note - Being a fan should is more than just being about the team and the owners, it's about the club. The people who say they'd swap who they were a fan of aren't fans. A real fan would stick by the club no matter what. I'll be at the Molineux through the good times and through the bad times and I'll always be a Wolves supporter no matter how testing it gets. We were bad today, very bad, there are things that need fixing no one is denying that but if you're prepared to stop being a Wolves fan after one defeat you aren't a Wolves fan. I'm not saying that you're saying that by saying you won't be attending Molineux again mate and I'm sorry I've used your post to say my piece but when I say Forever We Are Wolves I mean forever.

Again new squad needs time to gel. Give them time will you ffs.

But as a fan who pays good money for decades now to watch em, i'd of hoped they would of spent 20 million of the 28 recieved not 8 million !

Its blatenty obvious that the deffence is terrible, we havnt kept a clean sheet since ?? and this had been a MAJOR problem for seasons now, the fans see it, the pundits see it, why havent the people who run the club seen it ? i could understand if we were skint but the moneys there, yet we still ignor the fact we have to SCORE AT LEAST 2 GOALS to win a match AND ONE JUST TO DRAW !!!!!!!!!!

This i found a total disgrace and an insult to the fans whp spend there hard earned money on the club.

MORGAN, MOXEY, ADMIT AND FIX this glaringly obviuos problem or clear off and sell to someone who will.

Ed, You seem to hold the distinction of being a fan above all else, and this blind faith gets in the way of rationality.Surely if you are devoted to someone,something and you see something wrong then you should point this out and seek a remedy,otherwise the thing you care so much for may well fall into decay,and your crime will be that you said nothing. {Ed011's Note - I agree that's somethings wrong, maybe I am papering over the cracks too much because it was clear from the first game that Blake and Doyle aren't suited to playing together and that the defense needed a complete overhaul and we're still dicking about with both. Maybe I'm going through a paradigm shift because I can't help thinking about how we didn't get Demidov because we didn't offer him the wages and look at us now. Back when we were in the Premier League McCarthy wanted to sign Craig Gardner and Kenwyne Jones but he wasn't given the financial backing; that's fact and I think if we'd have signed those two players we'd have challenged survival much more than we did. That was Moxey and Morgan's fault, and then they hashed up replacing McCarthy. I will say that I think if we'd have tried to bring in a Director of Football things might have been different but if I had to blame someone it's Moxey more than Morgan. I can't fathom why his wages are so high and he is our Chief Executive and Stoke fans hated him, they got rid of him and they've just kept rising. I wanted a Director of Football because I wanted Moxey to take a step away from the football side of our club but maybe it's just time for Moxey to go.

Two years ago we survived last day to stay in the premiership not because of our great play but because others where worse, we had a terrible defence so what did we do signed one defender in RJ, last year we had the worst defence in the league hence we got relegated so what do we do ? We buy one defender , now tell me it isn't rocket science why we have not brought a new defence instead of a new midfield, and we play Berra who is the worst defender ever to play for Wolves and wants away anyway , I'm disalusioned already to be honest .

Agree with all the forever Wolves stuff and I have been in amongst 3 thousand against Rochdale. However this man Moxey needs to be removed. He may balance books but only got current market value for Jarvo and Fletch nothing more nothing less, big wow.
How many will be there next home game, just about 20,000 i recon. Then see what happens to his yearly profit if this trend continues. The gate against Derby was poor. Don't believe we are to big for a relegation battle, it looks more likely than a promotion one and has happened before. Those that don't realise this are either to young or they walk around with Wolves blinkers on. Get Moxey out. Started the trouble with the appointment of TC with 33 points to play for. You're right Ed. I'll support Wolves whatever happens, as I have done for the past 60 years. Even so, we must be allowed to have a moan if we perceive weaknesses in the side, which should've been remedied at a time when we could've done something about them. I know that we did not sell SF and MJ until the transfer window had nearly ended but we were solvent and we could've afforded to buy quality replacements without that income (which was bound to come in anyway). It beggars belief that we have not seriously addressed a glaring weakness in our squad in spite of it staring us in the face for years. Yes, it will take time for the squad to adapt to the new regime and for th eplayers fully to come to terms with the different tactics and formations. But, what are the chances of progress if we are not tight at the back? What's the point of trumpeting how much we have made on sales and saved on buying expensive home-bred players by shopping abroad for inexpensive midfielders, if we continue to ship goals and consequently shed points through the holes in our defence. It's not SS's fault because he does not control the purse-strings. If we are not careful, he will quickly get disenchanted with the situation at Molineux, rubbished by a section of the fans who blame him for something that is beyond his control. SS came to us as a breath of fresh air after the stagnant atmosphere that pervaded the place under MM and TC and I buy into his philosophy. But, he needs the funds to bring in the players who can do the job. It's not as if we cannot afford them. We could lose him and with him the prospect of progess that he holds out.

I also think the dof wasn't appointed as this will make Moxey feel his position is under threat. I regret not posing a threat to Moxey when i bumped into him outside Hednesford Town in a pre season friendly about 6 years ago. Could of done us all a favour.

Wow wow wow! Don't you think you are all over reacting slightly we are only 4 games in and yes it's not looking too good. But weren't Reading in a worse position than us last season? We have a long way to go and yes we all knew it may take ss a couple of seasons but so be it. Throwing money isn't the answer we tried that before when the great Sir Jack was at the helm. Throwing money at a problem concerning weaknesses in the squad DOES materially improve our chances of solving it. It is ridiculous to think otherwise, though it suits JM's penny- pinching policy to propagate the myth. It's also wrong to use the analogy of Reading because the situation there was different from ours. Our difficulties stem directly from a woefully inadequate defence and, if we do not bring in players who are up to the job, we will never challenge for promotion this year or any other year for that matter. If JM genuinely had the interests of the FOOTBALL club at heart rather than as a CEO of a property company that incidentally had a football team as part of its portfolio, he would instantly have made the money available. It's not as though we cannot afford it.

Same old usual Mills Wolf reaction. Looking forward to reading the platitudes you'll be writing when wolves win a match, and then the over the top reaction when they lose again.

I'm a realist not a glory hunter nor happy clapper nor doom monger, i say it as i see it good and the bad.

When they play well or i see positives im the first one to recognise it and applaud it.

When i see problem areas that should be dealt with which havnt, then i'll critises it.

I spend enough time and money watching Wolves to have a reasoned opinion on the club i follow closely.

Clearly your just a happy clapper, who proberly watches the odd game on telly when its on, or very occasionally visits the moleneux to get your token wolves shirt.

My reactions are not knee jerk, as if you look on my post above, i state the problem of the deffence being there too long to be a over the top knee jerk reaction.

Sounds like mills wolf is another one of these 'fans' that spends their entire life and savings obsessing on football and thusly believes that they, and their opinions, are better than anyone else! The stadium holds approx 30,000 people, so are you saying that only those that have season tickets or attend every match can call themselves fans and have opinions and have to endure the drivel you post all the time? It's the fickle fans and boo boys that give wolves a bad reputation!

Im stunned that we still have not sorted the defence out yet after 3 seasons.

one person i think could of been a decent LB for us was scott malone im still surprised we sold him and didnt give him a chance to shine

Just been thinking the same thing! Although I think he did have a future with us but decided he wanted to move.

I think he could of given ward alot of competition for LB but he wanted move so u cant blame him wanting to go somewhere where he would be in the first team

Few pointers from this mornings papers firstly great to see jake Cassidy bagging a hat trick to send tranmere top, Jamie Ohara bogging up jug ears then saying cant believe WE SOLD HIM we needed to keep our best players Jamie he couldn't get out quick enough perhaps a re tweet showing the same commitment as Sir Kevin Doyle whatever your thoughts read his comments.in the last month where money has most turned so many heads how refreshing to read doyles comments on loyalty and he has a debt to pay to his employers and it's fans.and finally seems west ham have a surplus of wingers perhaps a cheeky loan bid for one of them or should we stick with bakery and his hammer of a left peg.utw

Interesting still no club for Michael Owen.we were in the mix to sign him.

I've often thought the same thing and we should've given him more first team experience. But, under MM Malone wasn't the only youngster of ours who felt that he wasn't being given a proper chance to prove his worth. Of course, in struggling PL teams like ours there were no soft matches in which the manager could've given the youngsters a run-out, apart from cup matches. Moreover, as in the example of Elliott Bennett, it would've been difficult for a player to force himself into the team because of the quality of those occupying his position. In Malone's case the gap was not that pronounced. We could've made better use of him and we should've done so.
