All the recent injuries have reduced the chances of us signing anyone. Prior to the injuries, we had a slight chance of making the playoffs, now even with 2 or 3 new signings, we have no chance. The board will not sanction any serious spending this season. Instead the money will remain in the bank account for a new chairman to invest or some of it will be spent in the summer regardless.

Nigel Adkins, the Sheffield United manager, has addressed Che Adams’ situation at Bramall Lane after confronting reports the youngster is being monitored by several Premier League clubs.
Adkins, who refuted claims Manchester City and AFC Bournemouth made approaches for Adams before Saturday’s game against Swindon Town, reiterated United do not plan to part company with any of their leading names during this month’s transfer window.
