Think we all need to say a word for Doyle what a professional on and off the pitch never causes problems gets his head down and gets on with it his performances have been top notch top lad and top player

Doyle is a professional but the fact of the matter is he is not scoring and we need 2 strikers who score to get out this division. just hope he gets his act together soon

Get his act together? Been our best or second best player for 3 games on the trot, he's creating and has been unlucky with near misses and hit the Sunday roast a couple of times, maybe show a little loyalty to him like he has for us?

Not many haters shouting off now!,, where they gone

Haters? bit silly that.
We have a hard october coming up just hope we can do as well.

Is it me or does this division seem rubbish compared to when we were here last time

Still prefer this division to the premier though. Probably cause at least we can win in this one.

Craig De Wolf {Ed003's Note - slow down tiger ;) }

I agree there i like this division but we had super negative manager in the prem, stale could be different

The original post is spot on. He may not be clinical but i'll have him all day over glory boy Fletcher. Hi loyalty, workrate and team ethics are second to none and i still believe the goals will come.

As a striker, you would prefer Doyle over Fletcher ?
That's like saying I prefer Emblem over Scholes.

No it's not. Scholes is a 1 club player. Could of played for anybody in the world. Fletch chases glory and I hope he falls flat on his face.

Don't think you understood what the previous poster was tring to say! Try reading it again. Personally, I think all the hate towards fletcher is silly - it's football - players move on, ...get over it already!

There is a huge diffence between Doyle and Fletcher.
Fletcher scores goals
Doyle doesnt

goals gets wins not loyalty

Fletcher gets the goals agreed but Doyle sacrifices his goal scoring opportunities by holding the ball up and bringing other players in. Yeh Fletcher can bang them in from 10 yards but his assists are not as high as Doyle.

Goals get wins- well Fletch won't be scoring many for us this season will he.
All top scorers need a partner to link things up. Linekar ( spelling ) had Beardsley, Shearer had Sheringham, Rush had Dalglish even closer to home i think Bully always looked better with Mutch in the team. This is the role Doyle will always play but as all the previous mentioned he won't get the recognition.

I'm really pleased with the result because it shows that the team is gelling and that the players are beginning to adapt to SS's way of doing things. Watching the WW blog, it was clear that we dominated the game and that we were playing with more confidence. And yet, until Siggy scored his debut goal in the 83rd. minute, we still could not score in open play. Supporters at the match might argue that we were unlucky to put away our chances but I wonder whether we should think about starting with Doyle and Sigurdarson up front and drop SEB to the bench. Given the quality of Doyle's game, he cannot be dropped and his head on to Siggy created the goal: a well takeen one too. On a related point, the blog suggested that Sako pumped numerous crosses into the box but to no avail. Where were our strikers? This is where we miss Fletcher. Siggy might be tall enough but he tends to play in the pocket. The only person in our squad who is tall, fast and willing enough to do the job is Nouble but his ball control is somewhat lacking. SS is clearly still permutating members of the squad to find his ideal formation and I hope that with all the pressure we are exerting on the opposition the goal will come in greater numbers. On a completely different point, I hope Foley is fit to play becaus he stabilised the right flank.
