Wolves are about to put a bid in for Seattle Sounders winger Steve Zakuani.

He has just had surgery on a hernia problem, just after coming back from a broken leg.

Not going to happen.
Dave Edwards is our new winger.
You really can`t make this up

UTW

I know yeh haha

I rate Edwards highly, he's a good player but a winger he is not, not in the slightest in fact, he's an out and out attacking central midfielder. This is a mistake McCarthy constantly made, playing players out of position.

If Jackett is going to play all the other youngsters, why not just play Forde on the wing as it's his natural position and play Edwards in the central role with all his experience? I rate Jackett highly, but find his decision to play Edwards on the wing both wasteful and baffling.

Rio Ferdinand midfield to centre back
Steve Gerrard centre forward to midfield
Ashley Cole winger to full back
Sir Alex played Rooney on the left and Ronaldo up front, these are just a few I could be bothered to think of. Stop being so naïve and pigeon holing players. It may or may not work this is what he is paid to do manage players.

Because forde isn't ready to step up yet and neither is Zeli so were struggling on wingers both sides really.

And I think Davis and what I've seen of Evans and price are better cm than Edwards. So his only option to play really is rm

You can't compare Edwards to Rooney te reason they are world class players is because they can play in many positions. I'm a actually surprised you were able to post such a comment with such confidence. Not to mention the managers themselves knew what they were doing. Kenny is great, but Sir Alex, he is not. Don't play players out of position, it's simple.

Absolute tosh ManWolf. Many managers have played players out of positions that didn't work but continued to do so. Gary Gardner at Sunderland, Carrick at centre back, even Steven Fletcher was played at left midfield for Burnley. It's not about an individual talent but the teams success. Maybe Edwards for right midfield might be a good choice as for his willingness and hardwork to get back and defend. I personally think it's his best position as he gets to attack. In centre mid his passing isn't good enough. And the way this league is, it's practically impossible to play a plan A passing game. And worst case scenario he will be found out after the first couple of games and either forde or Zeli will get a chance. let's just calm down and not panic. Kenny Jacket is in charge not us. let's just cheer the team and hope for the clubs sake it works out. We are Wolves. Bring on the Wurzels!

How can so many managers and coaches, with years of experience, be wrong. Jackett won't be the first to play some players in a number of different positions. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, personally I'm happy to go with the guy who has over 20 years experience playing, couching and managing in football. JT.

Its a joke already the selections, if we lose to walsall, that's it, but they look pretty good to be fair,,,, edwards on the wing/

All in saying is, look what happened when we played players out of position. Why risk it now when we have players to fill those positions? Especially now when things are going so well. We don't need to try and put our best players on the pitch, just the right ones. I just think people are getting carried away with what we as a club can and can't do. It's still not going to be an easy campaign, we've lost our 'best players' and don't have a clue who our best players our now. We have a league one team, not a championship one. Risks like playing players out of position is a big mistake in that respect.
ManWolf

And hang about? Aren't those another three premier league players?
ManWolf

'Stop being so naïve and pigeon holing players'.

What a strange thing to say, this isn't a naive comment in the slightest it's actually quite insightful. Players have their chosen positions for a reason, they spend their time improving their abilty in their chosen positions so why play them out of position when we have Forde?

Edwards is effective in central midfield and he also scores goals there, what has he done on the wing?

Jackett is a great manager but playing players out of position just isn't the way forward.

Steven ward is now training with the first team.
Don't know why but this is 100% true.

To be fair as much as I love elokobi I think he is are weak link in defence from watching highlights of all three pre season games.

I'd play rickets at cb with bath
Doherty as rb and lb I'd play stearman or sign someone new

However he may be thinking about putting ward back in as lb if this is true

But there was a report earlier saying all four hasn't been given squad numbers? So if your right why did ward not get one?

Do think lb and lm if sako leaves need someone for both positions or use stearman, record haven't seen either of those play though

Hope not! Paul Tamworth

Don't bite! There are more wind ups than real posts at the moment!

Even after KJ's comments in today's paper about the transfer quartet not getting a squad number?

This is a cruel and nasty lie how could you stoop so low as to say things like this

Unfortunately, I actually see this as a believable story. Out of the four transfer listed players I would see Ward having the best chance of getting back in to KJ's plans.

Maybe KJ, Moxey & Co are realising that we aren't going to be able to offload these players?

In express and star tonite it says jacket has comfirmed ward and all the rest of the 4 on transfer list are not in his plans and have had there squad numbers removed

Completley agree

Sheffield Wednesday have made an enquiry to Wolves about the sale of Roger Johnson.

Fingers crossed. Don't price him out of a move though Moxey!

wolves have made a move for swansea striker luke moore

19 Jul 2013 11:35:15
dont want striker, want wingers to provide crosses!

He can play at right wing or CAM, would be a great signing for this level

Endless talk of new strikers? Cass Sig Griff Mac, surely good enough for this level. Just possibly a bit lightweight, we need to be looking at a bit of brawn if anything to come off the bench to mix it up. --Mikey in Malvern--

If all these rumours are true, we're going to end up with about 10 strikers in a couple of weeks!

Ex Sandwell. Not very good.

Griffiths, Donaldson, Siguardson in a three pronged forward line, now that would be the envy of most Championship clubs let alone Div 1. McAllden will be used freely from bench this campaign, Cassidy won't be a Wolves player in 12 month. Only question mark is what if Doyle, Sako or both stay? When will we say good bye to the no goodness Johnson, Ohara, Henry and Ward?

Dont believe everything you read wolves fans, k. jacket has told you he will not talk about players to sighn unless he his 100 per cent sure of sighning them, then he will tell you. wolfy
