an icelandic int midfielder set for a jan move, been at millwall 4 look around but prefers us . he plays for sapsborg 08.

Not sure on this, feel we need other area's of squad strengthening 1st before CM as i'm happy with our mix of McDonald Edwards Evans Saville Price, then there's obvioulsy Rowe (who i'm not keen on) that Jackett likes

IMO we need centre half, centre mid and centre forward, but they must be of championship quality at the very least and not Div3.

I'd rather Pritchard

This kids decent, good on the ball, very skillful and has a cracking left foot, takes all the set pieces for his team

Think he's cover for Sako @ ACON if it goes through. And he'll probably not be too expensive either.

Hes a free agent

Looks a good player. Good technique, strong on the ball. Looks for the ball as well with nice movement. I think we're heavy in central midfield, this guy looks like he could play in the number 10 role or the deeper role. Takes a decent set piece as well.

The man's name is Gudmundur Thorarinsson, swansea. Was there some reason it should be a secret? Just asking, like.

19 Dec 2014 20:10:03
No secret couldn't be bothered to try and spell it,

A couple of players we could poss sign In January we have expreince of the championship and good enough at level

Paul Mcshane experienced and played most games for hull when they got promoted

Stephen Quinn same again exprienced and good on the ball to play along side Kevin McDonald and played most games for hull when they got promoted

Scott Sinclair helped Swansea get promoted plays left or right mid good enough for this level and fairly exprienced

Danny graham he's exprienced good hold up striker to link with dicko or van la parra as we know all we need to do is agree a fee

Liam trotter played at millwall with KJ good on the ball at this level exprienced tbh at this level could be a option as he don't play much at Bolton

James Vaughan very good striker at this level knows we're the net proved at Huddersfield would be great player to replace dicko while he's away

Armand traore his quick plays left back as I think we need cover for golbourne as feel Hause well be a CB rather than LB and ricketts time is up I think so I wouldn't mind him as cover for golbourne plus he can play left mid and had 2 season with qpr at this level

People moaning at drawing with brighton this is my point from today:

Have any of you looked at the table we're up 10th now okay we drawed with Brighton who had 10 man we had our chances did we take them? No so u move on to next game against Watford tuff place to go at 530 but I have every confidence in kj he will get it right bring price dicko and Jacobs in for Edwards graham and Henry and go back 4231

Like the idea of Traore, Sinclair and Trotter but Vaughan lacks pace so he wouldn't be a like for like replacement with dicko and we would be stuck with three slow strikers, paul mcshane is experienced but not the quickest, our defence is pretty slow as it is

Going nowhere with this team keep telling you need experienced players urgently to play with these kids,, the players bought in are not good enough they are average players, k.j. needs to sort it out because there as been no improvement to me and I don't think he nows is best side , repeat you can't keep playing in championship without a natural goal score r which I'm afraid we haven't got and to get one you need to. Spend the cash over to you Mr morgan

As I've said before, jackett is a mediocre championship manager, we won't get promoted with him and we won't get relegated! Two full backs yesterday were rubbish need Doherty and Scotty back ASAP! Good to see Jack Price back. Need at least 3 quality players in Jan and a manager who knows a plan B and can motivate players as well as play them in right positions. Also do people think Jackett can attract the quality we need? I don't

Paul Hause iorfa didn't preform that well because they we're limited to going fowrard because Brighton play 4231 but there full backs make the width so our full backs we're limited but as soon as dicko and price came on the game changed we had more of the ball and we are able to get forward more

Hause and Iorfa are centre backs playing as fullbacks of course they aren't going to be comfortable going forward, but they are both very talented for their age

As I said, Jackett playin players out of position. We still couldn't outplay Brighton when they were down to 10 men! Wish people would wake up and realise our squad is carp at championship level and the manager is mediocre

Paul "The future's bright, the future's Deano" Tamworth is back, prophesying doom.

Paul, I can't deny that we need a couple of players in. Especially with the impending disappearance of Sako and Dicko. But I cannot agree with you on Jackett, I think the man is doing a tricky job. We didn't need a plan B last season and now we've been found out a couple of times he's tried to do that.

I think he's the man for the job. And let's be honest, who on earth would you replace him with?

22 Dec 2014 05:46:03
Most of us predicted or even dared hope for round about 10th place so why are we complaining? We have come back from an awful run of defeats with a win and a draw and this team is still better than the teams from the last 3 seasons if not more.

Yes if Kenny has peaked he should go but I don't think he has yet and like you say who would we bring in? And those who say Kenny hasn't got a plan B well that's not true at all. We have seen lots of plans he is probably on plan Z by now. At least we're not shipping goals now so just need to get forward line sorted. Nouha please get fit asap.

Jackett reminds me of Graham Turner, a safe pair of hands. You won't get relegated out of this division but u won't get promoted either! If your ambition is to stay in the championship Jacketts your man! Now I couldn't stand McCarthy but Jackett can't lace his boots in this league.

I'm bored of saying this. Our squad is very young, they're still learning, anywhere between 12th and in the play offs this year will be an achievement, let's not get on the younger players backs, let's support them let them grow into their potential and then maybe, just maybe we will grow as a club. Look at Southampton how well they're doing with a successful youth system. I don't want some of our fans moaning to cause the board and Jackett to panic into buying players that aren't young and hungry like ours are. Price was brilliant and I feel like we had missed his simpleness. He didn't misplace a pass again much like last season. Price is the player to allow McDonald the freedom to influence a game. And whoever said our fullbacks were poor is being very Harsh on 2 under 20's who are CB's and played very well, Jackett isn't playing them out of position as they can play as fullbacks, agreed not their strongest position but he saw that we were conceding goals for fun changed it introduced 2 young strong players and we've conceded 1 in 2 with them playing. I don't see a problem and I am still very optimistic about this season and the future. In Kenny we trust, COME ON YOU WOLVES

I agree about McDonald and Price as our midfield but our best fullbacks are Doherty and Scotty. Jackett won't get us promoted to Prem if he's here another 10 years! As for quality youngsters comin through, if their any good they will be sold.

Still not convinced about Doherty's defending though

He's the best right back we've got.

@paul Foley is the best rb we have who imo has been very unfairly treated by Jackett as Foley has done nothing wrong, I think he is on loan somewhere now isn't he?
To me I think Jackett is still learning in the Championship it is not our right to be a Premiership team we have to earn it, the fans giving the team grief need to get behind the team as someone already mentioned they are a young team who are still learning.
We will not get promoted this league but realistically I don't think any true fan expected us to be promoted anyway.
Give Jackett and the lads 2 or 3 years and see where we are then, I for one do not want Morgan to go yes he has made mistakes but at least our club is nicely in the black, some Championship clubs have had transfer restrictions placed on them recently, we should be grateful our club is secure and financially safe.

Have to agree with Paul, was a bit worried about k.j. saying we are only 11 points of top and 7 of play offs he forgot to say we are only 12 points of bottom and he also says we are fine up front which I think we are not by a longway we need to buy a 15 to 20 goal a season striker, we are wolves f.c. with gates at home of 20,000 crowds or more and I think we deserve more than what we have been getting with the players bought in this term no improvement what so ever to the team if we keep shopping at pound land we will never get to the prem. Which is were I want to be and every wolves fan I hope

How many of our good youngsters have been sold so far? There's no facts to back up what your saying, We still have Evans Doherty Batth Price Ikeme(from years ago) Iorfa Macca Hause Zeli Cassidy, They're all being allowed chance after chance and it can only be good for us and good for their development

All them youngsters you've mentioned IMO r not premiership quality! U may not agree but I bet no Prem side will come in for any of them in Jan! Our squad is mid table championship at best! Which suits Jackett

Also stuucorbett u can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear! Basically means these players u mention can play 500 games and they still won't be good enough for the Prem

I'll take a mid table finish this season but next season is the one where we need to push for promotion, I'm just not convinced that the squad and young players we have will get us promoted and I don't know whether Kenny will improve us and get us promoted

There not and he won't

They're not Prem quality yet, but with the right guidance and faith in them they will become Prem quality players. They all have the potential. There's a lot of players at the ages between 18-22 that weren't good enough for the Prem, but with age they developed into Prem quality players come 25/26

Jagielka, Clyne, Williams, Ward, Lallana, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Snodgrass, Adam, Jarvis, Lambert, Austin, Ings - Just a few players that were young in lower divisions and have enjoyed or are enjoying very good spells in the premier league

I've seen nothin that makes me think they'll be Prem quality, they may become championship quality but that's it.

Not convinced yet of good young players you mentioned there agree with Paul, what about j.lescot and r.Kean they left wish we had them now even at there age it proves what I say stucorbit any good player wants to play at the top, wolves f.c. should be in the prem anything less is a failure for our great club

For god sake Paul tamworth, if you've got nothing positive to say don't say it! Every TRUE wolves suporter knew we weren't going to get promoted this year! Obliviously your not a true supporter

As we all know January transfer window is 9 days away just wanted to make a point on players I can see leaving and some who I think we should try bring in:

Players leaving:
Sam ricketts (loan)
Liam mcalinden (loan)
Leon Clarke (loan)
Michael Jacobs(hope he doesn't tho)(loan)
Declan weeks(loan)

Players we could bring in:
Tom ince (loan)
Scott Sinclair (buy/loan)
Liam trotter (buy)
Armand traore (loan)
Junior holitte (loan or buy)
Paul Mcshane (buy)
Matthew upson (loan)
James Vaughan (buy)
Jermaine beckford (free)
Stephen Quinn (buy)

We have a realistic chance of getting these players have they have been told they can leave in January okay some people and there wages we might struggle with but I'm sure they would take a wage cut to play most weeks

I think at the moment we need to be realistic. We've had a huge overhaul of players in the last 2 years, compared to 2 years ago our squad is barely recognisable. I'll say it all season anywhere between 10th and top will be an achievement this season, let's try and develop our youth players, If it doesn't work in 2-3 years then buy and buy and buy. We are in a great position here to start a project which could allow us to be a very self sufficient club (I.E Southampton), I also do see what people like Paul are saying, 3 years in the prem and then to fall like we did was very frustrating, we just want to be back there straight away. But we don't have a god given right to be in the premier league just because at some point in our history we we're one of the greats in English/European football doesn't mean that's where we should be now.

Wolf what is your definition of a TRUE fan?? I spend a lot of money on a season ticket and travelling away. I can't put down what I think of your statement as it wouldn't be printed.

Jack Price will become a wolves great.
Love him or loose him.
Would love to hear KMacs thoughts.

Results in the last 8 games have not even been mid table, and if k.j. is happy with our strikers then he needs to go to spec savers

Yes results in last 8 haven't but results from the start of the season are. Last 8 last 2 it doesn't matter about that all that matters is the last 46 games come the end of the season, like Stearman said, if we hadn't started so well and mixed the losses up with our good run, nobody would be complaining. Kenny hasn't said he's happy with our strikers, he keeps saying we need more the Express and Stir are putting words into KJS mouth, again as usual

Matt Locke, in reply to your post about the players we should bring in and let go…

Tom ince (loan)- yes for sure, he is class and been on the bench for forest recently and I feel that's a waste of talent, and with sako going in January for African cup of nations, Ince would be the ideal replacement
Scott Sinclair (buy/loan)-Again ideal replacement for sako when he's at ACON, Sinclair is a very talented footballer.
Liam trotter (buy)- possibly- think we could do better tho!
Armand traore (loan)- wouldn't mind him he would help add some pace to our defence and the composure we lack when golbourne is missing!
Junior holitte (loan or buy)- hoilett and Ince have got to be my two favourite players on this list and I think if we can get either one of these, that will already be such an improvement!
Paul Mcshane (buy)- we can do better
Matthew upson (loan)- too old! Decent shout tho
James Vaughan (buy)- again we could do better
Jermaine beckford (free)- past it now, maybe we just take him on a free to prevent him from signing for another championship club and scoring against us :D
Stephen Quinn (buy) - FINALLY, no we could do a lot better!

Our loan star striker 1 in 5 games D.Graham is wanted to stay on loan by k.j. big deal I don't think nothing to get excited about again in my opinion, what do you think wolves fans

I think Graham has got a good touch but he needs someone up front with him in a 442. Our downfall was not getting Wilson with his pace especially with Dicko bein injured. With Wilson up front it would of been like for like. We need a pacy striker bringing in with quality.

Can't believe I'm hearing fans saying let's consolidate for this year and try next year when there's so much money to be earned in prem, spend some money on experienced players and we might have chance, c.h., c.f. and mid. To start with then who nows, we are wolvese look at Brentford they gave we a right pasting no excuse for these pastings we had angst teams in last 8 games only bad performances by players who have been found out

Your wastin your breath Mooreroy, to many on here think Jacketts a God as he got us out of Div3. Jackett is a mediocre championship manager and Wolves are made up of a predominantly Div3 squad! It may take a season or so but eventually they will get bored of him!

28 Dec 2014 09:36:47
Not a god but you have to agree he turned the team around. The team he inherited wouldn't have got promoted and maybe even have been struggling to stay in L1. He was exactly what we needed and the records last season speak for themselves.

And who is a premier manager anyway? And when did Wolves last have one?

15 Jan 2015 23:02:25
Wolves are considering offering a return to Emmanuel Frimpong who has only featured 9 times for Russian Premier League side FC UFA. Also I hear Wolves are looking at signing Chelsea under 19's winger Tammy Abraham On a One month loan who has scored 3 in 3 in the Uefa Youth Champions League.
