Ed 001 just wondering if you can help. Any idea if there is anything to the Bruce reopening negotiations rumour picked up by the national media? Or putting it another way, is all well between Jez and Steve Morgan? Seems to me that differences are emerging between the two and if Morgan stays there will be only one outcome. Anything stirring in the underbrush that might have caught your attention? Thanks. {Ed001's Note - actually I think the story came out about him being of interest because Morgan was testing the waters. When Curbs turned it down, Bruce was his next on the list but the fans were so vociferous about not wanting him that it was decided to forget about him. With there being no one else who impressed in their interviews, Connor got the job, but it is not going well. I have been told that a few players have spoken privately about being unhappy with Connor taking charge for varying reasons. Certainly it is likely that Connor will not see out the season, though Bruce's chances come down to getting the fans' backing him. Morgan knows the club need the fans behind it right now, it was thought by Moxley that Connor was well liked and would get fan support, hence why he was the one chosen. This is what I am told anyway. I have no evidence to back it up though, so I will stand to be corrected either way, if anyone can back this up or dispute it.}

It's funny the way this thing is getting circular. At the time it appeared that it was a decision between Curbs and Bruce and many fans voiced a pro-Curbs stance and could be seen as anti-Bruce. Also a number of fans saw Bruce as a Sunderland cast off and not much better than Mick who they were happy to see off the premises anyway. To be honest those fans right now would probably take Bruce's pet poodle let alone Bruce himself as manager. Fickle, no of course not, but certainly an about face. The bit I don't get is this, if Curbs was Morgan's no. 1 how the heck did this not happen? There was big support for Curbs. If he had been given the job not only would it have been a popular choice but the chairman's standing would also have risen massively with those same fans.

Fan power stopping Bruce getting the job? Ok plausible, but Connor as the oil on troubled waters who came up with that? 2Ms or just the one? Because if Connor goes, and I agree with you he could, would that not have implications for the person who appointed him in the first place? If you had a view on this I'd be interested and thanks for your earlier reply Ed 001. {Ed001's Note - Curbishley wasn't happy with the vision for the club presented to him ie he wanted to go out and buy players for now and have full control. The club are looking for someone who will work with the youth and try and build a long term platform for success. I think he was wanted because of the way Charlton's youth policy has flourished in recent times. I was told Moxley thought Connor would be a good idea, though Morgan must have agreed to appoint him, even if it was just desperate times calling for desperate measures. There isn't really a lot of available top class managers around, I see people talking about Lee Clarke, but he spent fortunes for League One and has got Huddersfield nowhere really. I have to be honest, I don't think Moxley's position will be under any kind of threat, as of yet. Even if the Connor appointment turns into a complete disaster of biblical proportions.}

Cheers Ed 001, you know this one is going to run and run. Leave you with this thought though, Curbs wouldn't have been in a position to buy anyway, as it was post-window. He would have had to get on with with job till the end of season, so no money issues there. And given our investment in the Academy, youth development would not have been a problem either. Had to be something else. {Ed001's Note - good point, but I believe it was summer spending if the club stayed up that was being referred to. Only way we will ever know for sure would be to speak to Curbishley and get his side, as he is the one that rejected the offer he must know why!}

Well I heard a little rumour as well all this thing with conner could blow up in the next few weeks maybe even after Sunday one I really don't think all the players are happy like ed said n you can see there's no passion in the team surly the only way is to get a experienced manager in now before we are mathmaticaly relegated n try n survive

If you believe the press, then Gary Megson is been linked to the club. Posted in the mirror, what the hell is going on, is it a new stand we are building at molineux or an underground bunker to hide the board???? Tell me the Megson news is rubbish.......

Thanks Ed. All makes sense apart from why Morgan thought TC would be a popular choice. Certainly the converstaions I have had during the Mick days suggested that the backroom should go rather than replace Mick.

Speaking of cast-offs, I think fans could have been won over to Bruce. (Not Warnock, though, and he found another job anyway.) Many were disappopinted Curbs couldn't be accommodated and after that fans were clamouring for an up-and-coming manager (Poyet, Clark, McDermott) rather than an experienced stop-gap (Benitez, W Smith, Souness or even Keane) given that it was late in the season anyway. Look how Mark Hughes has failed to lift QPR for an example of how that strategy fails.

So we have to get over Curbs and look for someone new. Clark is available but the other two still have an investment in their teams' seasons. If you're right and TC could go before the end of the season then this points again to Clark or Bruce being in focus.

Megaton is not coming to wolves dw wolves twitter said its rubbish

Why is it all the fans even ones that don't understand football like my wife can see no passion in the team but morgan can not see this

Here we go again we dont megson we dont want bruce years ago we didnt want graham taylor wake up to facts we need someone to come in for ten games to motivate this team to preserve our premier league status a new man its got to be forget megson was at the albion drop these petty predjudices and lets get on with it if it took megson to do it then so be it

Gents some of you are wide of the mark. after attending a Steve bull night in Ludlow friday he stated the job was only offered to one person besides Connor. And we all know who that is.
he offered his own services for the last 13 games as well.

He also said he wouldnt have connor as coach!And Ince would have done it but again with his own coach.It seems to me the big sticking point is connor and I have heard rumours connors wife is related to moxeys wife!Who ever came in would have to work with him.Come on Morgan grow a pair and get who you want not Moxey!

Also heard this about relations in the management at Wolves-Nepatisum is a dangerous, sorid world.

Love to see bully and connor in charge for the rest of the season,t.c and his clipboard and bully with his colouring book and crayons,haha priceless.

Mail is reporting that we're going to go back to Steve Bruce to replace Connor.

Best manager you should go for in your situation is Lee Clark outstanding prospect as a manager and good backroom staff even if you go down which looks likely the way you are playing he has the ability to bring you straight back.

Agree clark much better choice

I agree why are the two m s frightened of clarke he seemed the obvious choice to me
