Barnsley have expressed an interest in signing David Davis. Davis has been left in the West Midlands while the first team tour Ireland, in case a fee is agreed for the player.

What are people's thoughts? I think price and Evans are better players and if he does go we may look at bringing someone else in. What ever happens to the rumour of the young cdm Liverpool player was he called coady?

Matt

Good luck to him, didn't quite come up to scratch with Kenny so best he moves on. We have plenty of cover.

Best for both parties in my opinion. Give Price the number 8 shirt.

I think everyone is forgetting about Price, last year he was probably our best newcomer and formed a good relationship with McDonald. Very underrated and for me better than Evans

I agree about price but championships a big step up and if him or McDonald get injured we would need better cover than Evans that's my concern that we need someone who can challnge price and McDonald for cm and compliment them was my point

Matt

Davis an adequate Div 1 player, not good enough for Championship.

Ok for Div 1 but need better quality for Chamionship to complement McDonald.

To the above post, for me Price is more a sitting player breaking up opposition attacks where Evans is more attacking forward midfield player. Don't forget Evans gets in to the box more and scored a few goals last season. having said this both every good player

Only advantage Evans has over Price is strength, pace and height other than that Price is better

Davis is currently miles away from McDonald price Evans Rowe to name just 4 add Edwards and Jacobs as attacking midfielders and to be fair to him should be allowed to ply his trade elsewhere and in turn develope as a passing midfielder.the next academy graduate to break through will also be a holding midfielder in Declan weekes.onto the debate of price and Evans they both offer differing qualities.price will break up the play and keep possession and Evans is more forward thinking ala Edwards and Jacobs.i think their game time next season will be very similar and jackett will improve them as players and use them both in game time situations, they will both have dips in form and peaks when they will play starring roles, but the one sure fire thing, jackett and Gallen will nurture them and make them even better players as they will with all our young cubs.the realist oh and a little ps we have given up on McGuire.the fella we signed from Wycombe is coming on leaps and bounds.joleon who.

Both played well enough tonight in their respective roles in the 4 - 1 friendly win. Jackett will be able to mix and match the midfield options as he goes. He won't have the same luxury in the back division though - there's an appreciable gap in quality between a CH pairing of Batth and Stears vs Ebanks-Landell and Hause. It's risky not to strengthen so I hope we haven't entirely given up on Maguire, Fulham's interest notwithstanding. wolfshead.

Ricketts would be the go to when it comes to replacing 1 of the CBs.
Doherty would fill in on the right.

I do rate Evans & agree he is a more attack minded player. Price allows McDonald to be more effective in my opinion, breaking forward from deep and getting involved further up the field. I do think we may struggle if McDonald, Batth or Dicko get injured next year. Our replacements are good but nowhere near that quality. Weeks will be a player, seen him from a young age. Academy player of the year last year. TJ
