Hang on a minute I don't know how bad or good this new guy is but my issue is we have to trim our squad because it's too big and if any players were going to be signed it would be to go straight into the first team squad. these are words straight from Lamberts mouth.

Borthwick Jackson and Ola John have both left or are due to go imminently. I personally don't see what Duckens Nazon will bring to the team as his stats aren't particularly good. For him to go into the U23 squad is perplexing. Mind you that's probably the reason I'm not a football manager. Hopefully Lambert knows something that the stats are hiding.

Lambert definitely hasn't had a say about Duckens or whatever his name is. Don't be surprised if he's not Dicko's replacement. Today Mighty Wolves 2 villa 1 👍

Calm down Tim, it's a 6 month contract. They have seen some good points like strength and speed and have decided worth persevering with in training to try and improve him. Worth a shout as won't affect the real issues financially

Funny how this Nazon suddenly turned up the day Mendes flew to the Far East to sort out the Chinese Costa deal. He was no doubt getting around some weird tax law by offloading a crap eastern player to us in return of a favour with the Costa deal, or similar.

We have taken 2 forwards from the u23 squad in bright and ronan. It would make sense to bring in a forward until the end of the season so that the squad isn't short. Lambert is still looking at moving players out so be patient

I'm also guessing Bristol City will bid for Mason again this window (£5m), Newcastle will bid for Coady (5m) and West Ham with Iorfa (£5m) . Don't be surprised to see them go.

Wavidsmith, when did Mendes fly out to China then? I'd use another airline if I was him because Nazon has been training with the team for just over 2 weeks. I hear you can get to China in about 10 hours nowadays.

Calm down. Duckens is a red herring. He's not the top striker we need, not meant to be, and this won't stop us signing someone else.
Duckens going into the Under 23s indicates we are having a look at him. If he can't break through into the first team, we will release him in May. His stats aren't good but nor were Steve Bull's when we signed him.

All I was trying to say was that whenever Mendes has his finger in a pie (and I guarantee that the Costa / Chinese link has secretly been brewing for way longer than 2 days), a lot of weird things occur from the East (as he tries to fiddle the books, lol) .
Nazon has definitely come about from Mendes negotiating heavily with the new Chinese Super League who are pulling in players from the Middle East, etc. Why would Lambert scout a player from India?

Mendes spends his life on the phone. My own take is that he sorted Nazon to come over last month as his eyes have been lighting up over the Costa, and other multi million pound deals, coming to fruition.
The saddest part is that an agent's job was always to look after the welfare of their client, but now they actually try to unsettle them for their own gain. Needless to say Costa won't care when he's on £500K after tax a week, lol.

Thelwell was scouting the COPA America tournament where Haiti were playing. Nazon scored 2 goals for Haiti in this tournament I have read. So this signing has came from Thelwell

Don't know why people are jumping to conclusions based on Mendes being in China. He probably is, but Nazon has never played in China and has no links to Chinese football, he played in the Indian league.
We've signed him on an initial 5 month contract where he will go into the U23s on a recommendation from our scouts. If he's any good and what the scouts have seen materialises, we have a further 1 year option. We've taken him on a free and will be paying I would imagine, not a huge sum for his wages.
Stop looking for conspiracy, we've signed unknown players before e.g. Kightly etc and some will work out and some will not.
