Craig Gordon would want silly money, I could never accept Titus Bramble at the club. We need to look at some of the youngsters. McAlinden from the u21s/reserves is a class act, bangs them in regularly and would have something to prove, Danny Batth in defence with Johnson, sell/release Berra, recall Zeli and send Pennant back to Stoke. Recall Leigh Griffiths for Hibs, he can't stop scoring north of the boarder.
My team for Friday would be:
Gk: Ikeme
Dr: Foley
Cb: Johnson
Cb: Batth
Lb: Ward
Lw: Sako
Cm: Doumbia
Cm: Henry
Rw: Zeli Ismail
Cf: McAlinden
Cf: Griffiths

Offload Berra, Zubar, Blakey, Stearman, Pennant, Peszco.

Go shopping for a new left back and centre mid and forward. {Ed011's Note - That team is far worse than what we're playing as a first team now. Ismail isn't good enough yet, Griffiths will never play for us again, McAlinden needs to be eased into the first team, perhaps go out on loan too.

No peszko? crazy fool

Just been catching up on all the days events, watching the press conference and various videos, interviews and posts etc, and it makes for very interesting reading.

I am impressed with the way in which DS talks and from what he says he won't acept slackers which is great.

At this stage of the season above any tactic or system we need a motivator to pick up the players and make them believe in themselves.

I believe, just as many of you have stated that the dressing room is rotten. The once young hungry players that got us promoted need to prove themselves again or move on. Its time the bad apples were routed out.

I feel sorry for SS as I think given an opportunity he could do well, but I agree with another post I read from another site, who stated that SS may be better suited to a lower league where he can build a team from scratch. HOWEVER whatever any of you thought about him as a Manager you cannot knock him for the manner in which he has handled himself. I think he has been short changed by the existing set of players, and believe fully had Pezko and Boukari been fit he would still be the Manager today.

As for our fans, well what a miserable bunch of gits! I've been reading posts and people are already slagging off DS and obviously still MM & JM.

DS spoke very clearly of his intentions of getting us back in the Prem, that's his remit from Morgan. Morgan sacked SS cos we were going backwards not forwards. Millions has been spent on the accademy, on the appointment of new staff and I suspect as DS seems very much to be a coach first and foremost we will see before too long the appointment of a Director of Football. You don't do all this and build new stands which you want and NEED to be filled if your happy just breaking even! It seems to me that MM is doing exactly as he has done at Redwood and is having a rebuild to turn around the fortunes of his company. This man did not get to be as succeful in business as he has without being ambitious. His vision for wolves and the way he goes about the directorship of the club is his to make, he is the owner! We may not agree with him about how goes about things, but how anybody can honestly say he doesnt care about Wolves is beyond me! Because as sure as 2 plus 2 makes 4, then success at Wolves means money and in todays game its lots of money for a well run Prem Club.

As for some of you on here Tamworth Paul for one, you make me sick. From day one you accused us positive normal lets get behind the team and manager supporters, as wearing Rose tinted glasses and being happy clappers. Well I'd rather be an optomistic supporter any day of the week than being back stabbing, hypocritical, contradictory, condescending fickle persons like you.

None of us really know how DS is going to fare, NO management appointment is a certain recipe to succeed. There been far more experienced succeful managers fail at posts, than those that succeed, its why the merry go round moves so fast! Theres some great gems to be unearthed as players and in management lets trust that DS is one of those gems. Lets give him our FULL backing for once. Lets unite as fans with ONE voice of support for the club. There's no losers if we are victorious. Its not a sign of weakness to show your support when times are bad.

Out of darkness cometh the light

You know what...this season has wounded me, I was upbeat when Morgan took Stalle on, never heard of the Bloke but in fairness taking his comments into consideration;I thought'nice one, someone who wants to play good, passing, possession football, let's play our way into the prem instead of bullying teams.
Then the realisation that the squad weren't up to the technical aspect of the game hit home...as im sure it did with SS, "MORGAN&MOXEY"
The ringleaders at the club, and we all have an idea of who the main"boys"are, then decided between themselves to shaft Solbakken'royally...by arguing and bitching to board members, and not taking on board what he and his coaches wanted, except from what I've seen, Johnson and Stalles signings,
So the powers that be, had the chance to get rid of the dead beats at the club, the ward's, henry's, edwards, blakes etc, basically, micks babies...and what have the spineless decided, get rid of a bloke who promised to do his bit and move the club forward, regardless of pressure and criticism it would seem, and keep half a team of idle scheming no marks because, short term its a cheap option...
Now instep's Saunders...I'm guessing 99% of wolves fans can't believe what's going on, as i am...backward step I'm thinking, but having seen the interviews on tv, I'm thinking...as long as he ain't buttering up the fans with passionate sound bites about getting wolves into the prem and kicking players out who won't put the club 1st, give him rope, if he fails to deal with the 'clique at the club he will be on borrowed time soon enough, so back the bloke for now, cause if he doesn't deal with the problem "children" in the team they will hang him with the rope we give him now.MFA

Good post I agree with that 100% {Ed011's Note - Going along with percentages I don't think anywhere near as high as 99% of fans can't believe we've got Saunders. He's been very impressive in interviews etc.

Just saw this guys post saying Mouyokolo, Bathh and
Margreitter don't have either the ability or the hunger. you mad?? Bathh has had rave reviews at both Sheffield clubs. SWFC are crying out for him to be loaned to them or sold. GM has not really had a chance due to fitness and injurys. SM has been injured for most of his wolves career but saying that when he has played he hasn't really had a bad game and if he could get a good run in the team would probz be better than berra. You then go on to say that if both DB & GM was any good "solcrappen" would of picked them over Ward. As well as saying you could do a better job than most on here but you don't seem to know the difference between a LB and CB cause if you did you would know DB and GM don't play LB.

Anyway just thought I would clear that up first, before I get into saying the team i would like for Friday cause I know how much you all love to see that sort of thing -_-

4-4-2
GK obviously Ikeme
RB Foley (may be better under DS)
CB Johnson(captain)
CB Bathh or Margreitter
LB obviously ward as we have no other LB
RM Peszco
CM Davis possibly Frimpong if we could get him
CM O'Hara
LM Sako
ST SEB
ST Sigurdarson
Realistically that team can get us at least mid table. I have left Henry and Doyle out as both of them have been poor recently and maybe just maybe SEB and BBS can get a partnership going.

Sorry Batth not Bathh

Reading, Leicester City, Hull City, Burnley and Wolves are amongst the clubs believed to be keen on taking Tunnicliffe.

07 Jan 2013 21:46:16
deano also said that were not scoring enough goals could be ebanks a nd cassidy on fryday with doyle on the bench

07 Jan 2013 21:10:52
just heard them talking about DS on 5 live...they seem pretty positive saying he work 100% to bring 100% out of a players. he's also really likeable which will help relax the players...lets just hope he's given a chance unlike SS!

Lets face it, we were going down with SS so we got nothing to lose with DS

07 Jan 2013 21:06:12
if you listen carefully to deanos press conference he refers to himself as the coach weve got a recruitment officer and a team of proffesionals who will have a big say who gets signed and people who will leave it will be his job to pull it all together on the pitch

07 Jan 2013 20:14:11
Kenny Hibbit saying wot iv'e been saying for weeks Player Power got rid of S.S. Deano needs to get rid now. P.J.

Where did you hear that about Kenny.

Express and star

If Kenny did say this then the Express and Star have slanted it. The other day on the radio he was acknowledging that Stale had to go because of the play.
Said good things about Saunders.

07 Jan 2013 19:57:25
Ed what is Saunders like for bringing through youth? {Ed001's Note - from what I have seen of him, his ploy is to get older experienced heads who have dropped out of the Prem and can't find a club. That might have been necessity though, Donnie's youth policy isn't top class.}

07 Jan 2013 20:38:36
What does every one think of tom pope from port vale? Maybe worth a gamble, seems to be scoring goals

Work with a few Vale fans who say he is just a big lump who is great for that division.

At 26/27 is he no thanks

07 Jan 2013 19:50:50
As someone who did not want solbaken to go, I have to say I was impressed with saunders press conference. He seems aware of what he's taking on, and appears to know there are weaknesses.I hope he is astute enough to know he has to get rid of the lowlife that lurks in the club, who set out to cynically get rid of a good man.hopefully saunders will keep us in this division, get rid of the lowlife, bring in fresh players, and go for it next season, this season survival must be the priority.

In fairness not many people like Moxey but it seems that in business he does the best by people and has no appetite (no pun intended) for the awful elements of the job ie sacking someone. By the sounds of it he was put in an awkward situation the other night when Stale called him to discuss the team.
I say this as from the press conference yesterday I got the impression that DS has been tipped off regarding the dressing room and is under no illusion as to who causes the trouble. One wanders who from?

07 Jan 2013 19:11:47
Like the sound of saunders hit the nail on the head just needs to get these players playing

Danny

Agree Danny.
I will never ever like Moxey, and continue to believe he does nothing more than balance books and is poison, however i will always support our manager whoever it is and have done so since John Barnwell's days . DS seems ambitious and wants to manage at the top level. We might be a partnership made for each other.
I think he will sort the rubbish out but please please let him get the backing from upstairs and not have to do things on the cheap.
GET MOXEY OUT.

It is cclear morgan makes all the big decisions and moxey fronts the flak. He never wanted MM to go but morgan and the board insisted - not saying moxey is fantastic but my doubts are around morgan who seems to treat the club like his toy and makes knee jerk emotive decisions

07 Jan 2013 18:31:56
I still think that m&m would have done wonders to get mike bassett in as manager with his valuable experience managing england bringing in the likes of benson and hedges or lambert and butler can't remember exactly which two they were

07 Jan 2013 17:09:18
Words are easy lets see what d.s can do on match day, little sceptical about his appointment but we will see and hope I'm wrong, but I also felt the same about s.s when he was appointed, and I weren't far wrong with that, along with a lot of realistic fans....hopin for the best, w.f.e Worcester wolf

Words are easy. Stale proved that.

07 Jan 2013 17:06:19
It was almost worth getting rid of Stale just to cheer Paul Tamworth up!

Nothing wrong with Paul his heart is in the right place

07 Jan 2013 16:32:14
I've been looking at Doncasters goals this season on the etc just trying to give me hope and get me positive about this appointment, see the brand of football that Saunders like playing! But I'm sorry to say there's nothing positive to draw from it so don't bother! Those that have said he plays attractive positive football are deluding yourselves! You will soon get fed up of the full backs launching the ball forward aimlessly! Today is an absolute disaster in the history of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club!

Morgan should sell the club as he has no idea about football! Morgan and Moxey OUT!!

What a little ray of sunshine you are!

How about you chose another team to support. the idea of being a supporter is to support through thick and thin and giving support to the club. The blames is not the two MMs its the players, by the way I am a season ticket holder who have watched that lot get rid of three managers now.

You clearly don't know the lower div's, can you tell me a team that plays attractive football in the championship to div2.
In these divs you scrape for your life and stuff attractive football.
Saunders is probably we need and hopefully he will pull it off {Ed001's Note - is that not because the ones that play attractive footie tend to get promoted out of it? Such as Southampton and Reading did last year.}

West ham played scrapy footy last season to get up and they are not struggling in prem but southampton and reading will probably go down

Oh I have supported through thick and thin! I was on the South Bank before and after the Chorley game week in week out! Season ticket holder for years although I live in the South West now so don't get to every game! I will support the club, team and Saunders but I'm telling you now its not going to be easy on the eye! Even if we get up with him there's only one way it will go thereafter! Like I and many have said "Short sighted!"

Exactly Ed! Very well put indeed! Just out of interest how come he didn't keep Doncaster up last year? {Ed001's Note - he took over a struggling team, I wouldn't judge him on that to be honest. They had an initial lift after his appointment, but then his journeymen proved unable to sustain it.}

07 Jan 2013 14:45:19
"Saunders spent one season at Galatasaray, before he returned to the Premiership with Nottingham Forest in 1996 for £1.5m. His only season at the City Ground was a disappointment with a shortage of goals which contributed to Forest's relegation before joing Sheffield United in Division One. Whilst at Sheffield United he is remembered for an ingenious passage of play which resulted in a cheeky goal for his team. In a game against Port Vale, Saunders chased a long ball down with Vale keeper Paul Musselwhite, Musselwhite won the race and knocked the ball out for a throw in, only for Saunders to quickly pick it up and throw it onto the keeper's back, and then proceed to curl it in from 25 yards.[4] He remained at Sheffield United for two years before another spell abroad with Benfica (again under Souness) before moving back to the Premier League with newly promoted Bradford City. He remained at Bradford for two years until he finally retired in the 2000-01 season, when Bradford were relegated from the Premier League. It was the eighth time in his career that Saunders had been involved with a club during a season of relegation."

And what dies this have to do with anything? He was playing not managing!

07 Jan 2013 14:18:04
You need to play Dexys Midnight runners "Oh Deano" (Gino) for him! Used to give me goose bumps when he came out to that!

You must be a villa fan?

Or John Lennon - 'all we are saying .... is give dean a chance!'

07 Jan 2013 14:17:51
Just watched a clip of Solbakken at compton today, he genuinely looked gutted, this guy turned round and said he carried no bitterness, he showed no malice...he said he understood it was results driven, that he enjoyed every bit of his time here, not once has that guy pointed the finger at the players, who if we're honest have collectively got this completely honest and decent bloke sacked, they should be ashamed of themselves...heads should roll at the Molinuex now, don't just leave it squarely at the feet of Stalle, given a fair crack with willing and able players I'm sure he would have done alright for us, the wrong people have been shown the door, this will become apparent in the coming months.
Good luck Stalle for the future, you are better off out of it, the club is rotten to the core.MFA...

Hit the nail right on the head. I said a while back it needs a complete overhaul. SS wasn't given the time nor money to do this. Fergie, Wenger, Mancini wouldn't get this lot performing. Good luck DS you are going to need it.
GET MOXEY OUT.

Awesome post! I wish him every success in the future. Those of you that wanted him out just remember what you wished for in the seasons to come!! Short sighted doesn't do this whole situation justice!!

A post i agree with solbakken has been asked to do a job with both hands tied behind his back.im sure when he mulled over those dvds he would have thought he had got 5 possibly 6 players of premier standard ie a good base to work from.we arrive at seasons start with kightly fletcher gone jarvis close to his move which left hennessey n ohara both unavailable to him so of 6 players he was left with doyle.around 25 million in around 7 million spent pathetic.i fear that pinky n perky are the reincarnation of the bhattis just asset stripping so mr saunders welcome to the poison chalice that is wolves good luck ya gunna need it

Stale is a likeable guy but the style he tried to introduce and stuck with was not suitable for the champ 3 big mistakes he should have got involved sooner when he got the job secondly he should have insisted on a british no2 thirdly those dvd s he saw should have told him we couldnt defend its like deano says clean sheets win matches to me row z not fancy if its called for

07 Jan 2013 13:59:59
Just watched the"Wolves boardroom" video on YouTube-brilliant...............somebody send it to Morgan

{Ed011's Note - Here it is again in case you missed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ei7-pzNGU9I

That is one of the funniest things I have ever seen!! Absolute comedy genius!

07 Jan 2013 11:27:07
Well its dean asunder we all know it is another cheap option. Once again no ambition from mr morgan. We the fans however have to get behind dean and give him our full support! Starting friday newportwolf

If its asunder then lets hope it will be a good marriage.

07 Jan 2013 10:53:32
Thanks Ed been really down, but just watched that think on utube and could not stop laughing everybody take a look .
Type in WOLVES BOARDROOM......

07 Jan 2013 10:42:06
Well Paul Tamworth you got what you wished for! I'm not going to argue the toss about why you were wrong but I want to know what your thoughts are now re the appointment of Dean Saunders? Are you happy with the appointment? I don't want you jumping on the bandwagon in a couple of months (Saunders should be so lucky) that you didn't want him and that the board are a disgrace taking the cheap option etc etc! Lets hear what you think so we can remind you of your thoughts and feelings on Saunders before the season finishes!

{Ed011's Note - He's already said he's happy with Saunders on the page.

Tbh i think that saunders is an improvement, the change that will be seen will cheer up the people who have been disappointed with the players personal efforts, the post on the wolves site gave me a little encouragement as to whether he has a true back bone, think the players will work for him and we will have an honest team again. not sure im happy about the comments that the transfer dealing capabilities aren't massive as our squad is 'too big' there really isn't that much on the bench atm so i would like him to be able to bring in a few of his own, particularly a target man. also i was slightly underwhelmed about the fact we could have had coyle or hughes but went for him, but im happy to give him a chance

07 Jan 2013 10:00:53
Gang of 6 got their way, watch your back Deano the 6 will do the same to you if you don't get RID NOW. P.J.

Pj you have been right all along about the poison that make up half our team... these players have got ss the sack... why? because they aint good enough and were not prepared to try to play football... end of.... now we go back to hoofball. pathetic.

I know he won't put up with the big egos, as a said in a prevoius post you might be pleasantly surprised, he will win you over, Deano was a model pro and is a good footballing man, think with some of the dross out there we might have unearthed a gem, really hope it works out. the realist

The second post said that they weren't prepared to play football, yet our squad boasts on paper good fotballers, stale style of play was dull and naive, it wasn't good football at all. people like doyle, ebanks and pennant are all good footballers and are capable of playing to a good standard so we should be fine under the right man.

The belfry boys who just want their wages and run things in the dressing room

07 Jan 2013 09:45:25
ron atkinson backs deano, sorce express and star ? jason wolves for life

07 Jan 2013 09:35:42
I heard Saunders isnt a managerial signing, but a player signing. As he'd have a better chance of scoring at his age than blake and doyle put together.

Except for Blake is our leading scorer with 10 goals. Hmmm

07 Jan 2013 09:24:23
to all fellow fanatics atfer this great site go to youtube type in wolves boardroom lol by the way best of luck d s no hard feelings stale you came over as a good guy

07 Jan 2013 08:53:21
Can't wait for the cheap option to fail just to see the change in Paul from tanworth

I agree. He will dig the knife into DS' back soon enough! Probably Friday night around 21:30

I will laugh though if we win! Paul Tamworth will be giving it loads about the appointment then! More faces than a town hall clock!

07 Jan 2013 08:27:21
time to splash the cash now morgan if you want your pal to succeed at wolves, no mickey mouse signings we need quality proven players and get rid off old wood [i.e most of the team now

Good post. We need to remember most of this team were the reason we got relegated without even putting up a fight. We are where we are because we are poor ( it's not all SS's fault ).
Back him with at least 15 million and hope he has an eye for a good un.
I don't think it will happen and I think DS could be on a hiding to nothing.
I really hope i'm wrong and want DS to do well.
Heard a great story about the type of bloke he is so really hope he is given a chance ( unlike SS ).
GET MOXEY OUT.

07 Jan 2013 08:23:55
west ham are after another striker ssn have a go on vaz te asap he will b a good striker in this league to go for

07 Jan 2013 08:09:22

Doyle needs to be dropped he is crap sorry.

07 Jan 2013 06:54:01
morning now the dust as settled, i guess we have to wait and see, how it goes, just might work out, small manager for a big club, see who stays and goes with players jason wolves for life

07 Jan 2013 05:26:52
Tamworth you are pond life... I read your posts and sometimes I laugh but generally I think what an person... "Clueless" you call SS, Got himself the sack!! You are a fickle deluded person, you are as poisonous as the yellow bellied cowards who wear the gold and black but have no pride. I am ashamed to follow such a joke of a football team and club and ashamed of a small minority of the fans who behave like animals and don't have any clue or vision. I personally hope that we are relegated and I really mean that. I will still support the Wolves but they like you will have ultimately got what you all deserve...

I agree with you buddy! Never been so down hearted about the way things have been going at Wolves and the fickle fans wanting instant results after Stale came in! Didn't get a chance and he would have invoked change making us better for the long term!

However I think the "I hope we get relegated" comment was a bit strong to say the least! Saunders will fail as the fans won't give him a chance and he hasn't the experience nor pedigree to sort this mess out that has been years in the making! I wonder who we will go for in the summer? Lets face it we can fire these managers at the drop of a hat on one year rolling contracts! The two M's haven't got the confidence to offer their appointments anything longer!

I admire (not support) the way Derby have bought into Clough's vision of a long term project! Very long contract and no demands of instant success! You watch they will be better than us in the long term because they see further into the future than the next result for the way they are doing things! As long as we have the Paul Tamworths spouting out their drivel we will constantly fail!

07 Jan 2013 03:55:20
SEB was very excited until he realised that he had misheard the rumour that Dean Saunders was on his way. He had thought it was Colonel Sanders and had ordered 2 family buckets....

07 Jan 2013 03:39:45
What you Wrekin going to happen with she signings solbakien brang in I hope the new manager gives them a chance due to to most being over seas if fans get behind manager fast and seeing wolves only 11 or 12 points of play ofs beings underdogs and having a big fan base and quality in team really think can do it as long as manager acts quick and mainly bring in a quality forward with them millions wolves brought in what you Wrekin eds they wil go and you Wrekin they still have a chance lil rod

What's going on up the Wrekin?? {Ed011's Note - haha I thought that too to be honest

Over the hill I would imagine lol

07 Jan 2013 01:53:24
I've been thinking that maybe Saunders has been appointed, not necessarily because of his managerial record but for his personality. I think it was clear some players didn't like or get along with stale and his personality so possibly Saunders can get the players playing for him because of his personality (of course I don't know him but just speculating) also let's remember that most of those "anti Solbakken" players are most likely on longer term contracts and lets be honest carny image anyone trying to buy them so maybe that's the thinking behind this appointment. I would like however to wish Stale, Lange and weiser good luck for the future, they seemed like genuine people who wanted best for the club and hope they don't come back to haunt us. Now I would like to welcome Saunders to our club and which him all the best. I will be behind him 100% just like I have been with Solbakken up until peatorbourgh game really.

Unfortunately you may be right we are back again to MM style of having a personality who people like. I don't give a monkeys whether the players liked SS personality, most people don't like their boss and to sulk and refuse to accept his authority is little short of pathetic.I would have sacked half the 1st team and played the youngsters, that would have made me unpopular no doubt with the mamby pamby wa****rs who currently call themselves WWFC players, they are culpable and they are overpaid babies whom I hope all disappear into the obscurity that they all deserve... SHAME ON THEM.

07 Jan 2013 00:18:46
If Saunders's appointment is a disaster, so many of you will be quick to slaughter Morgan!, ..but I wonder just how many of you will applaud him if the appointment is a success? ..not many, i bet!

Dont take it so personally Steve.

07 Jan 2013 00:11:28
I get the feeling looking at some posts on here some of you wanted Stale sacked for the wrong reasons more than the right reasons. When I say wrong reasons I mean because he is foreign. When i say right I mean results. Don't get me wrong I may just be overlooking things.

Hopefully Dean does a good job, its not the decision i would make. but now he is here he has my backing and i wish him well. Hopefully he will boot Henry and his cronies out and make Johnson captain. One other thing I will say though is I hope he don't bring in a load of has been's/older players or loans.

Good luck Dean.
