Speaking to Villa fans, most genuinely feel that if was given the resources by the owners, Lambert would have established Villa as a top half Premier League team. It is clear that our current squad has a number of talented individuals but certain areas (defence) need strengthening as a matter of priority. We should all now get behind Lambert and let him instill his ideas until January when he can add players and move players on and really start to shape the squad to his preference.

I wish lambert all the luck in the world but I also hope he changes our formation to 4231 with Costa bod cav and dicko in the 4 forward positions, I think we would create more with this formation but at the back sorry Danny you need to go just not up to this level.

On paper those should be the 4 leading the attack but the player knocking them in is Edwards he wouldn't be as good in defensive midfielder position which would probably be from Coady, Said and Prince but I want to see Price brought back.
We always do badly when Price is out of contention.

Well we have one new manager and his assistant. Everything else seems to be status quo. Do we think everything is going to change on that basis?

We have to sort it out, back four needs changing or working on in the international break, like a Sunday morning team Rob Edwards no were ready to be coach/ manager yet seams a long way off to me with is team selections.
No excuses got mullered first half, but have to admit Mclaren had Derby very well organised and back on track.
All we hear of our players that we will change it round but it never happens, glad we have a new man in charge hope Lambert can get we organised and winning like he did at Norwich because nice guy that he is sorry but Rob Edwards is no were ready to run Wolves not strong enough for me and as far as him saying he would attack more then ROB HAVE A LOOK AT THE FIRST HALF OF MATCH, DID WE DO ANY MORE ATTACKING DON'T THINK SO, ALL TALK AS USUAL, WAS LIKE MEN AGAINST BOYS be more worried about relegation if he was still in charge.

Lambert will do very well to keep us up this year. It's hard to be optimistic. Thank heavens we have access to funds for the JAN window- which must feature top defenders. Time to loan DB to Shrewsbury Town arm band to DE.

Everyone saying Dave Edwards the armband? he's part of the problem along with Ikeme, Batth and the rest with four or more years. All have been here since KJ rebuild and how far have we progressed? It's like a game of snakes and ladders but we always land on snakes! Similar to when KJ started I believe there's currently a split camp. Old brigade and new players in a new regime. Need a clear out KJ style we moved on.
On another note Edwards doesn't need to take every opportunity to praise of welcome the manager. Two weeks ago he was backing Zenga in the press then Rob Edwards last week and now Lambert. He needs a new contract so maybe that's the reason for the brown tongue.

Ajwolf, who would you have as captain then. You can't have Jack Price because he has been here more than 4 years and therefore falls into your problem player category.

TBH. I don't know the answer otherwise I'd have applied for the job. IMO We've turned into a team of finger pointers. Edwards, Batth, Coady, CBJ and even Doc were pointing for others to do things that they could have done themselves yesterday, the second goal was just that with both coady and Batth not taking control of the situation prior to the ball going into the box.
I do like a CB to be captain, Batth has it ATM rightly or wrongly and I don't see why Edwards justifies to change it by running around like Forrest Gump and getting an header now and then to ice otherwise 'average' performances. I'd take Price over Edwards every day of the week but again what have we achieved with Jack playing regularly.

If Batth is dropped, I'd give the armband to Oniangue as he has the experience as he's the captain of his country. Mind you, he's got to be selected first.

Well now we know what's happening let's all get behind Lambert and the team. There is some promise in the team Costa, Doherty, Duracell Bunny Dave Edwards, and Cavaleiro is playing himself into form. But when things aren't going so well does it do anyone's confidence any good to boo our own players while play is in progress- really? Confidence is a big part of success and we can be part of the problem or part of the solution. I'm sure Fosun know they've cocked it up so far so let's hope they have got it right this time.

Talk about your game of two halves! Dave Edwards fantastic all game once again - a real leader of the team. The first half was brutal but the second brilliant. Cavaleiro showed terrific character, Lonergan pulled off some brilliant saves and I hope to God we can keep Costa - somehow I doubt it!
How that was a penalty I'll never understand - clumsy but so, so soft. Also, if he gives one to Ince, he has to do the same for us about 30 seconds later. Overall, proud of the performance second half.
I know I've brought a lot of negativity about the appointment but in all seriousness, best of luck to Lambert. Must accept the decision and support the team. Come on you Wolves!

Come on Wolves fans get real first half was rubbish damage was done, how we was not 5 down I will never now ROB EDWARDS TEAM SELECTIONS ALL WRONG AGAIN.
Derby didn't have to break sweat bit harsh with penalty decision but they deserved it.
Hope Lambert can get we organised like Derby were first half under Mclaren, seamed to me like it was men playing boys all credit to them they deserved there win, pleased with our keeper done some good saves to keep score down although could blame him a little for first goal, but if it had not been for him they would of been out of sight.
GOOD LUCK LAMBERT YOU WILL NEED IT, IF YOU GET IT RIGHT YOU WILL BE WORSHIPPED.

From today's showing, Cavaleiro, Costa, Coady and Edwards must start every game. Ikeme when fit should be the number 1. Batth and Iorfa must be dropped as soon as possible.

Edwards again a leader on the pitch and needs to wear the armband. Gives 100% every game. New manager needs to sort the defence out and as much as I got annoyed by DB's game today, I cannot support a Wolves player being booed by their own fans. The same amount of booing was afforded for the cheating Tom Ince!

Fully agree Jas. We need two new central defenders urgently, and one of them needs to be a leader which is something we need desperately. I think Doherty looks very good when allowed to go forward and I also think CBC will be good if we persevere with him. There were some good perfomance in the second half and there's no doubt we have some good players some with considerable flare ( Cav and Costa) . I don't think the team needs major surgery (as suggested by Don Goodman) . We clearly need another good Championship striker and the central defenders I mentioned earlier. Other than that the team needs good Management and tactics and they need to find a way of performing for the full 90 minutes. Paul Lambert and the owners have plenty going for them let's make it work. UTW.

Yep. Said some time ago that Danny boy was div1 standard and got lambasted on this site. Today central defence was a joke but also there left wing was given far to much space at times. Lot of work to be done and as stated a couple of centre backs needed in Jan`.

Smack on Paul could not of said it any better, Lambert as big job on is hands, hope Thelwell and SHI give him the players HE WANTS NOT WHAT THEY WANT, NO EXCUSES NOW WE HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT AND GET THE RIGHT PLAYERS IN JANUARY WE ALL NOW WHAT WE NEED SO LET'S GET THESE PLAYERS IN, IF WE HAVE THE MONEY WE SAY WE HAVE AND STOP PLAYING ABOUT.

So many pundits say that Iorfa has the potential to be a top class defender. I'd suggest that after yet another error strewn performance, we let him go to another club and realise his potential whilst we replace him with someone who can actually defend. Let's no forget how Tony Adams had potential at the same age but was actually a good player. Batth and Iorfa must go in January. Come on Lambert, get it sorted.
