Well. What a disaster that transfer window was. Wallace and Coady both strengthen our squad. No doubt about that. Personally I would drop K Mac for the Bolton game. Put Coady and Edwards in the middle, play Afobe up top with Wallace just behind him, 2 wingers and we have 4 to chose from in that dept. But KJ seems hell bent on this diamond formation and he seems hell bent on selecting Edwards in every game. In my opinion you can't play Edwards and K Mac in the same starting 11. Simply because Edwards is totally ineffective on the right or left of the diamond. So he is either going to have to play at the back of the diamond (K Mac's role) or at the front of the diamond (Afobe's role when Dicko was fit), I personally feel that we have better players to play at the front of the diamond, so that just leaves the K Mac role. I don't feel K Mac has been totally focused this season whether that is due to the transfer talk or his back injury I don't know, but that is my thinking on Edwards for K Mac, if as I suspect, KJ seems keen to pick Edwards in every game.
Without doubt we have to re enter the loan market when that window re opens. i'm worried about our lack of options upfront, but we have Afobe, Le Fondre (proven at this level, Enobakhere and there is also a young lad who is very highly rated by the club that will emerge this season and maybe push for the bench called Niall Ennis. With RVLP also able to play up top and McAlindon to return from Shrewsbury I don't think up front is our main concern. I that Centre Back is our main worry. I think a bit of experience and a bit of a leader is needed. We have Batth to return, but if i'm honest, I would have sold him and kept Stearman. So what options are there. I think we missed the boat with Michael Turner, 31, a leader, proven in the Premier and he has gone from Norwich to Sheff Weds for the season, for me he was perfect. So what's left, its hard to know really, so for me it would be Harry Macguire. Strong, brave, reads the game well and has experience at this level.
Oh well, I had to get all that off my chest and I feel better. Lol. let's get our chins up, get behind the lads and let's see where we get to. I have a feeling that this season is going to be a roller coaster!

You've not mentioned our biggest problem so far this season. Goalkeeping.

Tom I like your analysis yes wwe have plenty of players but which ones to play? Edwards is a conundrum because he scores so many but he isn't your usual centre mid nor your usual number 10 somewhere between the 2. Kenny says he builds his team around Afobe but to me it looks like he builds it round Edwards and it will continue now Edwards is captain. The only way that can really work is for Edwards to play deeper instead of kmac or coady or to play just one striker. With Dicko out I would go for one striker, Afobe or ALF.

Agree with Edwards being a conundrum and acknowledge he did a really good job for Wales against Cyprus in deeper lying role and still managed to push forward and 'score'. I think we have players more adept than Edwards in whatever position he is asked to play BUT he gets in the box and on the end of crosses more regularly than anyone else. We will all have different ideas of how we can set up without him but KJ sees him as Mr Reliable and it is difficult to disagree.

Okay so we all know that we are desperate for cover up top. Why not give Sigurdarson another chance? We have all seen the lad play and he has a lot of pace and skill to his game which would create mayhem for championship defenses. Considering he is still on our books and wage bill, it would be idiotic to play another player out of position (Van la parra) just to cover the void left by Dicko.

It's a shame the club has treated him like they have as he seems like a nice bloke and had a lot of potential. Just a thought anyways.

Kenny has twice given up on Siggy and we have seen before that he will keep players out of the first team setup if he doesn't want to use them. On the other hand we saw that he brought Doyle back last season so players can come back from obscurity. I reckon that when Kenny took the job it was a condition that he didn't have to use any of the team he inherited if he didn't want to so while he was responsible for Ricketts, Clarke and Jacobs coming and going Siggy, Doyle and the others weren't his problem.
