So it would appear that Downo has already started getting his excuses in for tomorrow afternoon, listening to his interview tonight on local radio he said our plight had not been helped by injuries to Sako and SEB recently and quickly rattled off the last eight scores by Wolves illustrating that our scoring has again dried up.

I understand that clubs do not listen to their fans but for the last 3 years we have said we need better defenders and an organising midfielder, from before Christmas we said we needed another striker in case the worse happened, but Downo hired a winger despite having possibly the player who would have been player of the season sat on the bench (Peszko)

The sooner village is out of Wolves the better, he has messed up and taken the club backwards

With Flynn stepping down today from Manager at Doncaster, could Deano after tomorrow be looking for a return to complete the Hatrick of relegations from the Championship. Rumour has it he is jealous of the achievements of RJ.

Dickov is favourite apparently.

I can just see it now: Huddersfield 1 Barnsley 0; Crystal Palace 4 Posh 0; Brighton 1 Wolves 1 (Palace equalise in injury time!

What are you guys thoughts on which players we'll keep and which will go when we're relegated on Saturday (sorry guys but we will be).

Do you think we'll have a chance of keeping Sako, Sigurdarson and Doumbia? I think these three will make the difference in League 1, Griffiths is a must as well, he'll be a goal machine in that league.

Hopefully we'll clear out the complete and utter dross that is Henry, Johnson and other players who've made it obvious they just don't want to be at Wolves.

Has anyone heard rumours on who we may buy?

I can see all those three going. And too soon to talk about new players.

Cassidy also tried and tested in L1.

(PS We're dot down yet!!)

Only another day or so to put up with Downo.

He won't go anywhere. We won't be able to aford anyone better.

I wouldn't be surprised if he disappears during the summer, if not by Sunday.

M&M hung on to Mick for too long. They showed they can be more ruthless with Stale. And there is a tendency these days for managers to move on quicker than a couple of years ago.

For some reason, many managers would want to come to Wolves. While the likes of O'Neill are probably out of our league, the calibre of Coyle or Keane or Ince are within reach I would think.

For me there is only one way that we can survive tomoro. Lay down our intention by firstly convincingly beating Brighton (secured in play off) on their own patch by 3 or 4. Betting man with their record would say UNLIKELY, then palace would not take convincing lead (2 or more) against p'boro until final quarter of their game or otherwise the gas would be taken off by both Huddersf'd and Barnsley who would play out the draw in knowledge that the goal at start of play of staying up will be achieved. Based on this I feel the inevitable will be confirmed tomorrow.

Upon relegation we will say goodbye to Johnson, Ohara (as these are high earners and will not wish to be seen in L1) Doyle (offer will be on table from celtic) Stearman (sure to leave for Ipswich) Hennessey (old enquiries will be revisited as he will come at a fraction of the price) SEB, de vries, edwards, berra, kello (out of contract - easy option) Hunt may be the one who stays as he is one who has come out the season with credit; Hammill, Griffiths (club do not want link to contreversy) - worse than all this the vultures may be around for Doherty, Bathh, Davis, McAllden (players with potential who could be drawn away from the club). Stale's signings will most probably be up for auction with Pezscho returning to his parent club along with Gorkss and Dicko. This I am afraid could leave us with Ikeme, Foley, Elokobi, Ward, Henry - those above who are not drawn away from the club or auctioned off, Stephen Hunt, the U21's, plus 2-3 token signings who are established L1 players or promising L2 or non-league talents.

I think your scenario is pretty accurate. Depressing, isn't it? Not the fact that we are unloading work shy no marks, but the realisation how low we have sunk. The academy players, the future of our club, will be picked off by bigger clubs. We are now competing with clubs like Walsall, Shrewsbury and Crawley for signings. That's the truth of it, that's where we are now. It's well documented that our wage bill is £28 million. Peterborough's is £3 million. So, they stick with Deano who can work with those budgets, but can't attract players because no one wants to be associated with his cave man style of play.
At best, even with the parachute money, a season of mid table mediocrity in the third tier of English football beckons. As I said, depressing isn't it?

Hunty has come out of this season well. Looks like he cares. A new contract and captains armband.
