Chris Martin to be unveiled tomorrow.

30 Aug 2016 23:38:38
Where have you heard or seen this?

30 Aug 2016 23:49:00
Needs to lose some timber first.

30 Aug 2016 22:31:49
Before you start knocking the Stearman loan put it into context. He never wanted or asked to leave unlike some and many Wolves fans were livid that he went if I remember correctly 82% in a poll. The lad is a Wolverhampton lad and not once shirked from giving his all for the club he knows the club inside out and I personally think Batth has suffered the most from his departure. Plus there will be no language problem and he knows what to expect with Championship football give the lad a chance UTW.

30 Aug 2016 23:22:52
Agreed, except he is and always has been CRAP!

30 Aug 2016 23:12:11
Well said stone.

31 Aug 2016 05:05:19
Stearman is the man! We need experience and he knows the division!

31 Aug 2016 06:12:53
Like fixing a broken gate with rotton wood, got player of the season as took a prem player and dropped 2 divisions so always going to look good as we 80% of the ball in the oppositions half, some people like him because he makes last ditch tackle and brings ball out with the odd long pass, but I sit behind the goals and he can't pick up a man and spends most time on the floor, only my opinion but has to be a better CB available.

31 Aug 2016 06:20:55
There are better Rogue1 but they cost and at the moment Fosun don't seem to be spending big, majority brought in are loans, so Stearman fits their budget. Hope their going spend their money on Cavaleiro and a Striker.

31 Aug 2016 07:03:46
Well when we were at Fulham and beat them 3-0 Stears got an unbelievable reception and throughout the game so those of us at Fulham that night must have been in the minority!

31 Aug 2016 08:02:36
Would have got a good reception from me also for letting in 3 goals.

30 Aug 2016 22:04:16
Stearman apparently coming back to Wolves! This is my number 1 worst footballing NIGHTMARE! The bloke is a liability, got two left feet and can't read a football match to save his life! Surely this has got to be a p-ss take by somebody! If he's not good enough for Fulhams 1st 11, why is he good enough for our now decent squad? We should be looking at a quality CH and Striker to finish off some very good business these last 3 weeks!

30 Aug 2016 22:07:00
Could not agree more rusko.

30 Aug 2016 23:50:32
My number 1 football worst nightmare is negative fans not willing to give new players a chance well former in this instance.
Stearman got player of the season 2 seasons running so give it a rest with the negativity, he isn't the best I agree but he is better than what we currently have.
Some of you would still say they ain't good enough if we signed Pepe, Ronaldo, Messi etc.

30 Aug 2016 21:58:23
Players I think will be gone deslandes Evans henry bryne e banks landell don't be shocked to see iorfa go . and when graham comes back Wallace will be gone in Jan fair play he try hard and has energy but has he got it?

30 Aug 2016 21:28:21
Stearman cavaleiro Harrison reed and martin . that's 14 in who's going out lol.

31 Aug 2016 00:00:15
who is harrison and reed?

30 Aug 2016 20:52:33
Just a funny one lads, under 23s tonite. ebanks landell sent off and ebanks blake scores for them lol.

30 Aug 2016 21:29:26
Got back in it and then conceded a deflected goal 2 minutes after equalising (don't think it's the kids night! )

30 Aug 2016 20:28:48
If I were a Burton player or fan. I'd be pooping something serious thinking about coming down the Mol on the 10th. They got their promotion, time to play with the big boys. No disrespect to them, but if big Walt plays these new lads- and they click. God help whoever we play.

30 Aug 2016 20:59:17
Thanks for the 'edit' Ed πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ.

{Ed003's Note - no probs but you could choose your language better yourself in future - save me the hassle ta.}

30 Aug 2016 21:03:21
I thought I'd sneak it past you you guys with the hash tag symbol slotted in.

30 Aug 2016 20:18:56
Stearman back is this correct.

30 Aug 2016 21:27:26
I'm hearing the same Pezza.

30 Aug 2016 20:00:35
My bad he's failed a medical . don't get him Jeff lol.

30 Aug 2016 20:24:00
Sorry wednesfield. "My bad"? Hmm.

30 Aug 2016 19:58:49
Gyan to reading is off! he is now considering other offers from championship. Get him in Jeff he will bang in goals for fun. then when were up f him off.

30 Aug 2016 22:15:42
Why would he sign a 30 something has never been. Saw him on sly overweight would cost a minimum of 40k a week.

30 Aug 2016 18:50:45
Idrissa Sylla has joined QPR for undisclosed fee. Don't need him as we have Mason, Dicko, Gladon, Bodvarsson and Bright vying for 2 places.

30 Aug 2016 18:23:59
I can see stearman coming in as our marquee defender?

30 Aug 2016 18:32:51
Definite mid table if he did!

30 Aug 2016 18:46:14
Hey Wednesfield I told it was a secret!
:-)

30 Aug 2016 20:08:37
Welcome home Stears.
100 per cent Wolves.
Good signing Batth has been lost since he left.

30 Aug 2016 20:18:59
100 per cent yes. God enough no.

30 Aug 2016 20:22:04
Stears is poor, one good season in division 1, nearly took Fulham down with only about 3 clean sheets last year, only stayed up due to goals by Russ.

30 Aug 2016 20:36:19
Tell u what Realist if he does comeback it's definitely a plus compared to Hause, Landell and Williamson if ever he puts boots on again. πŸ‘ And he will def be ready to play against Burton πŸ‘.

30 Aug 2016 19:02:25
Did mick play him right back? knows the championship like the back of his hand. i'd take him tbf.

30 Aug 2016 21:33:58
Rogue1 - ask Ipswich fans what they think of Stearman, when the fans aren't getting on his back he's a quality defender at Championship level (he tends to be a bit naff when he's treated like the number 1 villain by his own fans) . So if we try actually supporting him he'd be a good signing.

31 Aug 2016 07:08:30
Rogue he was player of season in champ season before last.

30 Aug 2016 17:05:16
Let's hope the next game zenga picks right team . time to stop being nice to the flops and pick a team to rip teams apart.

30 Aug 2016 17:33:49
It's a team game wedsfeild we have lost one game get a life.

30 Aug 2016 17:39:00
What I think Wednesfield is sayin, is its time to see Walts team and not Jacketts? When u buy a player the idea is their better than what you've got? With the players brought in with possibly more to come, there should be at least 8 of the new lads startin against Burton on 10th September.

30 Aug 2016 18:47:22
He has two weeks with most of them I think (not sure who is away on national duty)
Gives him a good go at getting organised.

30 Aug 2016 13:58:43
I always said we could do with a complete new team. I've got my wish now.

30 Aug 2016 17:56:42
I would have no problem leaving at least 5 out of that team on the 1st half performance against Huddersfield, if it's not working you have got to stop being Mr. Nice guy and do your job or else you will get the sack it was not working simple as that, second half lot better should of had at least a point but I'm afraid damage was done 1st half no doubt Zenga will have seen that, he is no fool and played at top level and will sort it, that's my opinion he as given them a chance and a lot of them have blown there chance for the time being I hope.

30 Aug 2016 14:11:27
2 players needed in each position. Let Bryne go but we've got to keep Lenny - he's a great lad.

30 Aug 2016 14:36:19
Henry is dross move him out.

30 Aug 2016 13:32:06
Saiss Confirmed.

30 Aug 2016 14:18:32
Think this is an excellent signing another player with hunger to play in Premier League. Better signing players like this than big name players who are only topping up their pension pots. Two center half's would now be ideal.

30 Aug 2016 11:54:36
Still no Confirmation that Romain Saiis has signed,
Is it a case of brinkmanship on his part waiting for something better as the window edges closer
Should we be concerned that it's not going to happen after all?

30 Aug 2016 12:19:53
No he will sign.

30 Aug 2016 12:43:06
Think if he does/ has signed it'll be confirmed tomorrow.

30 Aug 2016 13:31:49
He's signed mate.

30 Aug 2016 15:26:52
Dantheman how do you know? There were posts here yesterday saying all was done - cannot be it would have been announced.

30 Aug 2016 17:31:25
Thank the Lord it's official - Saiss has signed. Glad I wasn't holding my breath waiting for that.

30 Aug 2016 11:16:00
Villa signing Jonathan kogda bristol City. 15 million that's the same player we wanted last season but wouldn't pay the 2m same as Wilson. Moxey good riddance.

30 Aug 2016 19:56:24
15 mil is big money! Too much in this division and I think they will regret it! Afobe went for 12m and was a much better player.

30 Aug 2016 10:10:32
If and it's a huge if LORD BENTNER signs for us do u think it poss we don't slag him off before he even kicked a ball for us - if Wolfsburg were willing take him then why we too good for him cause when I last checked we in championship not champions lge _GIVE PLAYERS CHANCE Pls.

30 Aug 2016 14:07:40
Can't believe we'd be that stupid - he is rubbish!

30 Aug 2016 16:35:39
If they signed this under performing egotist they want shooting
Heh as done nothing of worth other than con money out of clubs.

30 Aug 2016 10:08:24
I hope it is Cavaliero not Bentner. If we get Saiss and a defender we have a whole new team for Walter to play with. It is a monster task to integrate new players and keep everyone motivated. I don't expect miracles, new players need a run in the team to be effective and there is going to be a lot of bench warming for some people. So give Walter some leeway and let's see where we are by Christmas. We will know by then if he is the real deal or not.
Look what's happened to our club in just over a month, how can we be critical when most of the new players haven't kicked a ball yet.

30 Aug 2016 10:49:56
Put the team that started on Saturday on the bench except the Dadi as they were not good enough last season to get into the promotion places and will not get us there this season. None of them are good on the ball so play the new boys and use them as subs.

30 Aug 2016 10:59:23
Well said GB. My sentiments exactly.
Next 36 hours are going to be riveting and hopefully exciting.

30 Aug 2016 11:13:49
Agree 100% baza.

30 Aug 2016 11:20:33
This Saiss transfer seams to be lasting a long time, hope it goes through as anybody got the latest news on him please let me now.

30 Aug 2016 11:58:42
GK - Ikeme/ Lonergan
RB - Doherty/ Iorfa/ Silvio
CB - Batth/ Hause
CB - New CB/ Iorfa (and give him benefit of the doubt he's just having a bad spell)
LB - CBJ/ Silvio/ Doherty
Prince/ Price
Saiss/ Saville
Texeira/ Coady/ Edwards
JDB, Costa, Zyro when fit
Dicko, Mason, Gladon, Martin if signed
Costa, John, Graham when back and Caveleiro if rumours are true

From what we have seen of the new signings I'm clearly happier than you guys but by the end of this 2 week break they should all be ready for action so I don't understand all the doom and gloom after 1 loss. Learn to walk before you can run. Surely nobody expected to win every game from the off? There's a good tema with a lot of flexibilty in there. We already know we're getting a CB as Zenga has said so if the other 2 rumours of Martin and Caveleiro are tru it has to go down as our best transfer window?

30 Aug 2016 12:20:29
Il let u know just smith when I see the line up for the Burton game? There's no excuses.

30 Aug 2016 14:11:32
Need to move Saville and Byrne on. Can see Henry also being let go. This international break will hopefully give us time to bed in the newbies and hopefully, by the time we play Burton, there'll be the odd KJ era player starting as opposed to the bulk of the team.

30 Aug 2016 14:12:45
We also need to make sure that the new CB is left footed. The defence has an imbalance at times with 3 sometimes all 4 being right footed.

30 Aug 2016 08:50:39
Have we brought Martin and Rhoades yet? How about a quality centre half? Mmmmmmmmm guess not. Wakey Wakey Big Jeff clock is tickin, quality still needed πŸ‘.

30 Aug 2016 09:19:07
No thank goodness. one overweight and slow. Rhodes over priced and not premier player so a lot of money for a season. we will sign Saisse and a CB. marquee signing will be Ivan Cavaleiro as per his wife's twitter account.

30 Aug 2016 09:32:22
Mid table it is then Sedgley Pete, especially if Walt sticks to a rotation plan.

30 Aug 2016 09:55:02
Mid table was what jacketts flops achieved last season, even with no further signings you got to say our squad is play off potential at least particularly when we get dicko, graham and maybe zyro back. Although we may be title contenders if we make some more signings in the next 18 hours or so.

30 Aug 2016 10:00:10
I like how you've changed your tune after 1 defeat PT. why would you be so desperate for the club to spend millions on 2 players, one that's over weight and the other that has no pace what so ever. Fair enough they have decent scoring records but I very much doubt that just because we may not sign either of them we will finish midtable. You were shouting down all the moaners last week and now you've jumped on the bandwagon of if we don't sign players for 10m plus we are doomed. I seem to remember derby spent huge amounts last year and the year before and look what league they are STILL in.

30 Aug 2016 10:03:17
Haha Paul you crack me up You've gone from the most pessimistic on here to the main banger of the Fosun drum like 'Big Jeff' is your best mate back to where you were before it all started. It's like you have Bipolar! Being too sucked in by how much something costs isn't a god way to think. Every t-shirt in the wardrobe doesn't need to be branded.

Would you have said when Leicester signed Mahrez they were wrong and should have been signing Walcott because spending 400k on a winger when they could afford 20m is mediocre?

Stop comparing us to Newcastle and Villa as they aren't spending the owners money they're spending parachute money or in Newcastle's case just spending what they bring in knowing Sissoko will be on his way out and they'll break even.

Use your loaf a bit.

30 Aug 2016 10:13:34
we need Saisse and a quality experienced centre back and we should be o. k if we spend big money on a striker we would have 4 strikers plus Dicko when he comes back plus Zyro when he is fit in the New Year plus the kid strikers, so I think this would cause some unrest, whereas we have no cover at all for Centre backs, certainly no quality to come in so the money would be better spent for a centre back. Presuming Saisse signs we would have a quality midfield for the first time for years and then offload such as Byrne, Henry, Edwards, Saville etc and quite a few more, who are good league 1 players, but that is their limit, no class there at all, they give the effort but are just not good enough if we want to get promoted the next 2 years.

30 Aug 2016 10:15:15
Just Smith I can't argue as I haven't seen a Walt team yet, I've been to all the games and watched Jacketts team? That's what worries me, I thought we would buy quality players who will play week in week out? But at the moment we've just brought numbers and Walt is talkin rotation? Which I most definitely do not agree with! U pick your best team week in week out!

30 Aug 2016 10:24:43
And also to prove my point Leicester won the Prem usin the least amount of players and stickin to a first 11 regularly.

30 Aug 2016 10:37:58
But to keep team spirit high, he has to be selecting on merit. He gave last years lads a chance. to be fair, we were unbeaten until Saturday. Thus, to be fair to them, he couldn't just drop them otherwise he stood to undermine the 'team spirit' ethic he is trying to create/ employ. I'd expect some changes now, as the loss gives him the opportunity to drop a few. This is the method I think he will employ - not mass rotation. However, the high energy play he likes will burn players out, thus the need for a strong squad.

30 Aug 2016 10:49:32
What wins games? Goals and scoring more than the opposition. We can have 6 strikers at the club but if they don't hit the net on a regular basis they are not going to win us the league are they? That's why the team needs to be made up with as many players as possible that chip in with goals. These type of players usually cost money because of it. Unless we get lucky of course. We can always hope we do. The point is at the sharp end we need several proven and regular goal scorers as well as strength everywhere else. Strikers win games most of the time don't they? Let's just get at least two proven goal scorers on board. Not unreasonable, but usually expensive. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€.

30 Aug 2016 11:26:06
Paul Tamworth . Go back 12 months, did anyone think Leicester would do what they did with the squad they had . Journeymen who had played at variety of clubs .

They did, with a system and method of play and few injuries .

Thats one way to do it but not the only way .

Give the manager and team time and let them do what they do best . He has brought in much much better quality than what was there!

You have your view but its not Ps4 . There are prob 10 ambitious teams competing to go up but at least wolves will stand toe to toe now!

30 aug 2016 11:39:08
wolvescoast spot on, goals win football matches and you have to pay the going rate to get the players to score them and they have to come from midfield as well as up front, also players weigh in with a few goals from the back, then you have the perfect football team to get to premier
so what i am saying is hope all these players we are sighning on loan or on 2 to 3 year contracts for cheap money make a difference, what i can say is its more interesting and better than last year, and even with these new players he as signed already if he plays them regularly i think we could still get in top 6,my opinion we need a centre back and striker who can get you 20 plus goals, then i would fancy we, still time.

30 Aug 2016 11:39:33
We may stand toe to toe with the other teams if he fields his players and not Jacketts? Until we see his team none of us have a clue!

30 Aug 2016 12:06:05
I know what you're saying Paul but you surely expected that to be the case whilst players moved to a new country and bedded in? For me it was always about getting to this international break in a decent position and come the next game we should see more from the new guys. it also gives Zenga chance to see which current players he rates but they are better players than given credit for as shown v Blues who in turn hammered Norwich. Last season has tarnished them but they can rewrite their futures with us as Coady is doing.

We're building something special but it just needs a bit of patience. Squad depth is essential though as seen last season due to the lack of it.

As much as I'd love a 10/ 15m signing I'd be happier if we scouted properly and got these players for 2/ 3 million where as if they were already playing here would be that price.

30 Aug 2016 12:58:44
I'm sure Ivan C is a good player, however not sure his goals to games played ratio is that impressive! We need goals from the wings and midfield and the back four to chip in occasionally. This is what will win us games. πŸ˜‰.

30 Aug 2016 21:41:11
his goals to game ratio in ligue 1 and champions league you mean? I suspect goals to game in the championship would be better - although if he creates 35 goals for others I don't suppose anyone would care that he hasn't scored 10 goals himself.

30 Aug 2016 08:40:17
Have any of the players we've "missed out on" played for their new clubs yet?
