Wolves can be satisfied with the close season business.

Only 3 new arrivals of which 2 will be regulars. Yet this means the harmony of the club remains. Johnson has made his mark straight away with team mates and Ohara was tried and tested.

Add to this that the full squad is nearing full fitness something that was not the case 12-months ago.

The wage bill has been slashed to allow for two of the top earners at the club to arrive with those surplus to requirement players shipped out or at worst most there wage passed onto to a third party for the foreseeable with them in the shop window for a sale. On top of this a number of the promising youngsters are out getting 1st team experience either in SPL or football league.

All in all sensible business. Only disappointment being we did not land a fifth forward as I remain unconvinced on Vokes (hope to be proven wrong) and with Edwards being injury prone as he is I would liked to have seen Lansbury choose us over West Ham but guess he is looking for the guarantee of a start each week which was going to be difficult here due to McCarthy having his preferred middle of the park two-some.

Wolves will build on their start and continue development in very similar vein to what Stoke have achieved. I suspect Wolves to finish between 12-15th this season with McCarthy's 47 point prediction not far off. With all the West Midland clubs to have an above par season, including Birmingham.

As for rumour I suspect Wolves to return to sign Ridgewell in January from the Blues.

Who wrote this on the main site? Superb. Best post I've ever read on here.

I agree with it all (except maybe Lansbury - think we could do better). Brilliant post.

To all the 'glass is half empty', 3Ms out, what happens if Johnson and O'Hara get injured, we're doomed for relegation, Mogan must go posters - please read the above.

Up the Wolves, Up the 3Ms

Excellent post'nice 1,at last someone on here who is 'considered'instead of the usual hot air out of the arse brigade!

Great to hear something positive - and realistic - regarding our club. We're a club on the up, slowing building and improving. 12th - 15th is a fair assessment and nothing to be sniffed at.
