Interesting debate on the way home from the match today on radio WM. Question regarding what was our best midfield and whether we need a striker or midfielder to help us with our promotion push? Thoughts and opinions folks, thanks. CW

Midfielder is needed

Also listened to the debate. I am disappointed with MacDonald - as the caller said he thought we were getting one of the best midfielders in the division. But is he being asked to play a certain way? If he is, then so be it. It is a nice point to debate but if we are winning then who cares. Do we need a forward or a creative midfielder? I think we need to use the wide players to create chances and move the ball quicker but if you had been told that we would be top two, 8 points clear of 3rd and could be 10-12 clear by next Saturday then happy days.

We have so many midfielders already. Do we just keep signing them till we get 4 class acts? I can't believe Morgan will let KJ get a 4th new midfielder this season. Unless we sell Sako and Ohara I suppose.

Yes we are doing great at the moment. But this team would be mid table in the Championship at best. When we go up, we will sign better players.

But the point is we aren't in the Championship. If and when we return then we will address that problem. If that is next year then these players will be a year more experienced. We have had a disastrous couple of years and we have posters complaining that this team is mid Championship at best - Pity they weren't around 12 months ago then.

Thanks folks, personally having watched the game on Saturday I would like to see a big guy like Chris Iwelumo up front. I also think that McDonald is one of the few players that actually wants the ball from our back four. Still think KJ is not sure who our best midfield pairing is. Any thoughts on Edwards?

Regarding Siggy, I actually thought he was a good signing at the time, unfortunately, he hasn't fulfilled his full potential as yet. Looking forward to the game on Tuesday night against Tranmere, who would have imagined they would have beaten Coventry by such a big margin?

If reports of Siggy leaving in January come to fruition, then we DESPERATELY need another striker. Cass, much as it pains me to say it, isn't good enough

Siggy's time to make a name for himself has run out. He's been with us 1 and a half seasons now. If he wasn't such a nice guy, we'd be unhappy with him.

But without Siggy that's really just Griff and Doyle good enough to take us up. I'd like to see SEB back in the team too but apparently that's not going to happen (like even less than OHara LOL). A loan in Jan is most likely unless someone really good is available for transfer.

Siggy has barley had a chance he gets maybe 20 mins a game and KJ expects him to score
