Love the fact that some fans are adamant that we need a striker with experience at this level and then start purring at an injured African player who's never played in England or a non league player whose never played above the 3 tier.

Didn't realise this season was an experiment, seems strange with billions in the bank. what have we missed here. villa are signing the championship big guns while we scrat around for scraps.

Has to be the FFP rules. Villa can legally spend more because of the parachute payments.

Wednesfield Wolf. FFP states that we can't spend more than a certain percentage of the clubs turnover. The fact that we have billionaire owners means nothing as FFP is based solely on revenue. But you are right in one way. We could sign 2 mega stars and pay them £150k a week but then we would be 9 players short on a match day due to FFP.

Standard of signings gone back to the Morgan days josh Murphy 700.000 and arguing about tuck money for marshall oh well it was fun while it lasted even though we spent the 14m on a pile of inexperienced players and manager

There appears to be a wealth of talent in the youngsters who need experience in preparation for next season when an assault on promotion looks a distinct possibility. Signings at this stage would just get in the way of giving these talented youths the experience they need. A little patience and a longer term view is needed for sustained success. Weed the garden for now and enable the green shoots to come through.

Not much of a gardener myself Wolabby, think you're on the right path though. Just public training matches for the rest of the season, those who want big signings now are barking up the wrong tree.
