WTF Walter Smith

(daily mirror)

22 Feb 2012 22:31:44
Anybody fancy talking football and possible team for Saturday? We do after all have a team to support you know! {Ed003's Note - Good point }

Go for your life mate, what do you reckon? 433,451

I never thought i would ever say this but i will be glad to have Henry back

I'm glad aswell. For all the stick he gets from wolves fans he does the job no one else can at wolves. Moaning he doesn't go forward or he slows the pace down on a counter yeah but he slows down the other team aswell by winning the ball off of them.

Ok'heads up people.a while ago this club we follow"Wolverhampton Wanderers" were without question the biggest club in Europe, and possibly the world......we were the supposed Manchester united of the time......yes its true( the young 1s reading can stop laughing and draw a breath now).....and as supporters of this great club,I would say we don't deserve the bloody circus that Mr Morgan and Mr Moxey are creating in the media by their complete silence in the face of growing discontent amongst followers of this club,I remember times when the urinals in the south bank were nothing more than corrugated sheet steel, but you know what, people weren't bothered about bloody stands.....it was the team that mattered, everything else followed, not now though eh! The way the fans and club are being treated now is disgraceful, footballing people would have got rid of the last manager months ago,the writing was on the wall then, big and bold'he wasn't good enough, but you'the so called people incharge wanted it done on the cheap, nothing more now we are deep in the sh&t,you have managers who are interested, with 1 in particular who the fans want and you still either......I'm guessing money again is overriding.....and possibly how much control he wants.....time to put up boys or f u k c rite off back to Liverpool and stoke.......a very fed up wulfrunian GBF

Be careful what you wish for. Remember the 80's!

22 Feb 2012 21:10:32
Walter smith 7/4 favourite tonight. how many times can it change lol madness lol

Yeh and Craig White's coming with him as our new CEO!

Be careful what you wish for. Remember the 80's!

22 Feb 2012 21:01:12
Anybody else just about had enough.
Mitch

Me too over 50 years loveing the wolves and this has said to me morgan is not fit to be chairman

22 Feb 2012 20:45:26
This Scot link got me thinking. Only Fergie in recent times managed to break the old firm grip up there.
The only manager to almost break the Man Utd, Arsenal grip ( before rich owners at Man City, Chelsea, Jack Walker's Blackburn and debt ridden Leeds ) was Keegan at Newcastle.
Go and get him. Childhood Wolves fan. Ignore the England stint, everybody cocks that up.
Better than all the dross currently being mentioned.

22 Feb 2012 20:04:03
Hearing that Walter smith is the new favourite, totally left field I know but true. Can that bloke from last night drive past molineux and see I'd he is in his merc? ;-)

Sorry mate, I didn't travel that way tonight. I'll be going past in the morning though so if there's a whiskey nosed jock slumped in the gutter it'll probably be Walter!

22 Feb 2012 20:02:11
All seriousness, and take this as a compliment, but does any one else wish Gary speed was still with us.... He would have been ideal .

22 Feb 2012 19:57:03
Walter Smith now 13/8fav.

22 Feb 2012 19:54:48
Walter Smith now 9/4 fav.Curbishley reluctant because of Morgans intention to appoint a Director Of Football in the Summer. This guy ( talk of Souness ) will have total say on transfers in and out.

22 Feb 2012 19:40:31
Just seen the bookies odds and Walter Smith is now in the frame

Pick a name, put it out there and get odds on it. Wise up!

I feel all I am doing is knocking every possible manager but I can't help but think Smith is no good.
My nan could manage a team to Scotish titles and she is an alcaholic ( she'd fit in perfectly).
His record at Everton wasn't great and long term he would shop in Scotland. You get a better class of player in the West Mids Prem.

22 Feb 2012 19:37:37
Walter smith......any day of the will.

22 Feb 2012 19:22:31
its simple morgan and moxey are running a business, moxey as to balance the books to get his bonus, curbishley as turned us down as he had a different vision to the club to morgan, morgan wont let him spend money on descent players plus the wage cap they have at wolves.he would rather build houses at compton to get some return,i am ashamed to be a season ticket holder how the club is being run at present no ambition at all.we need a complete overall moxy, conner all out morgan got a few good contacts from liverpool get them in.

22 Feb 2012 19:12:24
Glad we didn't get Mcdermott. Just heard him on talksport and he said Moxey is a class act. Yes you read that correctly "Moxey a class act" What a dick.

22 Feb 2012 18:52:12
Walter Smiths odds down from rank outsider to 9/2 with most firms

Bruce is odds on. Disaster

Walter Smith is now favourite.I dont mind him anyone but clipboard and Bruce , but would be worried Clipboard would still be assistant!

22 Feb 2012 18:02:25
Ed. what is going on at wolves who is gonna be our manager and when we are becoming a laughing stock {Ed001's Note - I don't understand why you all seem to view the club as a laughing stock for taking their time to get the manager they want. They aren't making crass statements, it is the media which is trying to create a circus, the club itself is saying nothing. Which makes the media stir up more lies to fill pages, simply because they have no idea so are guessing.}

Walter Smith has come in from rank outsider to 9/2 with most bookies

Hi sunderland fan here why didnt you have a manager ready when you sacked big mac? anyway hope you win on sat against the skunks

22 Feb 2012 17:24:50
With the Beeb confirming Curbs' second no, Mcdermott staying put, and, as if we're going to pay compo for Poyet - what options now exist? Is it TC till May? Or Keane till May, which really does make the case for karma? Bruce?

Just wondering if you have any straws in the wind for us to chase Ed 001? Any idea if the quiet man Solskjaer was approached? I'm kinda hoping that Morgan's ski holiday wasn't just family only. (No offence to the fam obviously). I need something to keep the spirits up at this time, cheers. {Ed001's Note - it was just a holiday sorry, though he was regularly in contact while away. As far as I am aware Solskjaer has not come into the reckoning.}

22 Feb 2012 17:24:50
if TC got the job should just boycott the remaining games till they get the message we wont stand for this rubbish

That's what we like to see. Quality support!

Whoever comes in needs us to get behind the team.

I do support wolves like mad but TC really if he dont get the job ill be one happy person

22 Feb 2012 17:24:36
what the f*ck are the 2 m's thinking don't they get it Conner will be absolute sh*t and no one wants Bruce, brake the bank to get curbishley, poyet keane with Wilkins number 2. I truly think that we can stay up if we get one of them with Conner we are gone for sure
vidosiclover33

22 Feb 2012 17:21:27
I have it on very good authority that wolves have now entered negotiations with Hope Powell!
She has impressed with her no nonsense approach to management and would bring huge media attention to the club.
It is only preliminary negotiations but it will progress on Curbishleys latest assesment of wolves new proposal

22 Feb 2012 17:07:41
morgan and moxey should be driven out by us fans they are not wanted they have no interest in wolves other than what they can make out of it they have no football knoledge and are making us a laughing stock if they apoint bruce the fans should all protest and make them sell club and moxey should retire to anywhere exept wolverhampton

22 Feb 2012 16:55:15
lets just see. I just they would hurry up. Bruce would be better than some, look at his team now
. Good players who most would walk into a Wolves team ..

Wolves fans dont want him we have add enough negative boring football we want new aproach

22 Feb 2012 16:41:26
Don't look at the odds on betting sites as these are generated by who's betting on who. It dosn't mean anything. Think about it wolves never mention transfers until it is done so what makes anyone think that they know who is favorite for the managers role. Nobody knows and nobody will know until it has been announced.

You can predict it but know one will 100% know

22 Feb 2012 16:31:12
This is getting beyond a joke ... the chuckle brothers could not organise a pee-up in a brewery !!
i dont know why and i dont have a friend or a friend of a auntie twice removed within the club but i still have a feeling that we will go back in for Hughton

Just get Dave Jones back in till end of the season please!!!!!!! not Clipboard

Just get Dave Jones back in till end of the season please!!!!!!! not Clipboard

I can safely say that no decent manager will leave there club now cos the numpties in charge sacked MM too late,,,face facts we are going down so we might as well leave person connor in charge and a decent one later ........

Morgan out brigade

22 Feb 2012 15:56:46
Mcdermott has just signed a long term deal at reading, well done lads, alienate every other potential recruit by nailing your coulors to a manager you weren't possibly going to get, what a joke you are!

Ya can see why the tesco bag s++t fans call us the dingles!
yet another shambles!

22 Feb 2012 15:55:37
Reading tie Mcdermott up on 3 year contract. Good.

Always preferred the other one on masterchef anyway

22 Feb 2012 15:31:02
The only constant in the betting is Bruce. He's been favourite or damn close to favourite since the betting started. Even now he's favourite with Betfair. Why get excited about someone's odds falling from 33/1 to 15/1 when Bruce has been between evens to 2/1 all the way. So the smart money is still on Bruce, whose name has fallen off this site's radar.

Every day someone's odds shorten vastly. Yesterday it was McDermott, day before Curbs. Today Connor. Means nothing other than this site and others affect the betting, not any inside knowledge.

Rant over.

Id take bruce right about now till the end of the season rather than TC

22 Feb 2012 15:29:24
I don't think Morgan n moxey no who they want to appoint just go n get Clark n Wilkins please both would want it

22 Feb 2012 15:18:25
I've just about had enough of all this rubbish now the two m's remind me of Nero fiddling while Rome burns . Clipboard Connor in charge god help us :-(

22 Feb 2012 14:48:41
Latest odds- Steve Bruce 2/1, Roy Keane 3/1, Alan Curbishley 4/1, Brian McDermott & Lee Clark 9/2, Terry Connor 6/1, Guy Poyet 8/1, Ray Wilkins 12/1, 25/1 Bar.

Who we trying for next roy of the rovers

Thats all we get odds just offer it some one

Get this bloke Bar in at 25/1 might be better than all the others

22 Feb 2012 14:33:25
The latest candidate to turn it down is David Platt. He said his reasons are that he is more than happy on Coronation Street.

Like it lol

22 Feb 2012 14:16:41
Did anybody hear the Lee Clark interview on talksport. Not that I want him, just interested in what he had to say.

22 Feb 2012 14:12:50
Just seen our Lord Jesus (no disrespect to anyone) walking out of the Mol shaking his head. Apparently he had a rescue package but his vision was not shared by the mms.

22 Feb 2012 14:05:31
aaaaaaaaaaaah terry connor now into 12/1

Bet Morgan and Moxey had a few quid on him at 40/1

4/1 connor ffs lol

.......that's it folks,if we get a result at 'toon you can almost put your money on clipboard being given charge til the end of the season without fear of losing your wager, what a bloody shambles! To have a Manager of Curbishley's credentials as good as say I want the position on tv,is pretty remarkable, but to then completely balls it up,is truly an outstanding piece of work, hats off for the men at the helm, they really are doing us proud, well done.....

22 Feb 2012 13:59:18
In the last 9 days or so I have read of at least 3 press conferences where the new manager will be announced.
There are no insiders, drivers etc. Just people like me with to much time on their hands.
If Moxey new anything he would have given a new manager the whole of this week to set up for Newcastle with a game plan. Instead we go with clipboard, same tactics same results. Only 36 points to play for then. Each game is now a cup final and we are going to hand this one to Newcastle.

22 Feb 2012 13:58:20
Its offical according to the E+S curbs has turned us down for a second time stating same reasons as before,a difference with morgan about the ambition of the club!

22 Feb 2012 13:23:42
What is the matter with Moxey & Morgan. In the time its taken them to dither and ponder both Leeds and Huddersfield have appointed new managers without any fuss. Why can't we be as efficient as these? God help us!

22 Feb 2012 13:20:31
need to get a long term manager in now, if we get some1 until end of season and go down we will be in a right mess.

we r strugglin to attract now so imagine tryin to get adecent manager when we been relegated, lost our best players(probably) and upset a load of the potenetial suitors during this appointment!

get a decent long term manager in now, curbs, clark, bruce dont even have jobs!

22 Feb 2012 13:15:39
Bton Chauffeur : what is it with u wolves lot? Why are u so impatient to get a boss? All will be revealed tomorrow as I have stated since Saturday... Still not to late to get to the bookies for a bet on Poyet! They play tonight and all will be revealed. Be patient!

So why has Oatway come out and said he hopes and expects Poyet to stay?

22 Feb 2012 12:52:35
Aidy boothroyd
Norwich academy director
Leeds assistant
Watford manager

Also currently manager at Northampton Town, second bottom of the football league. I know things are getting desparate but jog on

22 Feb 2012 12:41:11
Taxi for Moxey, and Steve pass the keys to someone with an interest as you leave the building will you,a taxi has been booked.

22 Feb 2012 12:31:13
It's in Curbishleys court now.
If he doesn't accept the final terms it's Roy Keane!

22 Feb 2012 12:23:57
Roy Keane's odds slashed into 6/1 from 18/1

Please No!

My god my nan could do a better job than him n he's already said he wants to get back in to managing again

22 Feb 2012 11:59:03
let me say just one thing

if we are to survive this season, then more than ever the fans really need to get behind the team at home, doesn't matter who the manager is whether it be Steve Bruce or mickey mouse.... without the verbal support of us fans we are not going to do it, positivity is the only thing that can drive the players on to win games..... if anyone wants to vent negative stuff then stay away at least till the end of the season
now is the time for unity !!!
SW

22 Feb 2012 11:47:33
We are a joke! Pay what it takes get keegan graham or wilkins now!!

Wilkins wants it but would he be a good manager he's probz the best number 2 in the world ed your thoughts ? {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't see him as a manager, he is best used as a go-between the players and manager. That is what Chelsea badly miss right now, someone to sit down and listen to their issues and then put the manager's side of things, but as a friendly arm round the shoulder rather than as a boss.}

22 Feb 2012 11:31:56
I'll say again...
Curbishley is still the choice. He still wants the job.
He doesn't want any restrictions imposed albeit he knows and as agreed budgets.
His issue is around selling players if we go down.
Curbishley is seeking assurances who manages this situation. He is adamant that it is going to be him.
That's the stumbling block.
Bruce has not been turned down.
Roy Keane is also willing to take the job for 13 weeks initially. {Ed003's Note -

22 Feb 2012 11:19:58
Looking at the latest odds the bookies can't split Bruce, Curbishley, Clark and McDermott. Poyet still hanging around 7/1-9/1 so could still be in with a shout. I would be surprised if anyone else other than these gets the job

22 Feb 2012 11:08:37
guys im hearing curbs will get it. deal is being trashed out and the m+m's look to have this done by friday

22 Feb 2012 10:29:54
It now seems that Curbishley has turned us down. I think the McDermott saga is all about him getting a long term contract at Reading. The fans don't want Bruce. We wont pay for Poyet - so who the hell does that leave. I honestly think we could do no worse than appointing Jody Craddock for the rest of the season. He knows the players and the set up, he is an intelligent man and he knows how to defend and organise.

What a farce I am bored with it all now.Can we not do anythimg with any style or dignity.I am not impressed with any of the bookies front runners. We are a disgrace to the shirt on the field and a disgrace to the name of Wolves in the boardroom, Please Mr Moxey andMr Morgan do us a favour and find us new owners and ship out. UP THE WOLVES.

22 Feb 2012 09:27:55
If the morning papers are anything to go by then Bruce could be ready to turn his back on us having been kept waiting since Friday and Brian Mcdermott could sign a new contract with Reading.

Just give Curbishley what he wants or cough up for Poyet! At this rate I could see us just handing it out to whoever wants it (Roy Keane? Lee Clark?) or could honestly see Connor getting the job til the end of the season if this charade carries on.

22 Feb 2012 00:00:30
radio wm tonight reported that wolves offered curbishley a 2 and half year dea,l but curbs only wanted the 13 games as manager so if we went down he could go with no ties. but if we stayed up he would accecpt the longer contract.
