Someone should have shown Nuno the battle of Brammall Lane 2002 on you tube so he would have known what he was up against. Same old Warnock.

My take on the game is that Cardiff played their game when they were in possession, a muscular attacking style spearheaded by the admirably strong Zohore and backed up by speedy, strong midfielders. They knew we have looked vulnerable to setpieces so they atttacked with confidence on corners and long throws.

When we had the ball Colin's men practiced the dark arts so that we could not develop our normal rhythm, so we saw off the ball body checks, feigned injuries and illegal challenges.

The effect on our players was that Boly and Miranda had poor games due to the pressure exerted on them. Miranda's failed rugby tackle on Hoillet for the first goal was almost comical. Boly beaten like a schoolboy by a bouncing ball for the second ball was extremely worrying.

Doherty and Douglas were not allowed to get forward as in previous games and Doherty, who took an age to troop off at half time, looked knackered.

Neves was forced too deep, and Saiss had a poor game in that his passinfg accuracy deserted him.

Ruddy did not inspire confidence all of the time and both of their goals looked stoppable.

Bonatini did all he was asked at his own pace, which we would now expect to speeding up, but he took his goal expertly.

For Brentford we need Bennett in for Miranda and possibly Cavaleiro starting for Bright just by way of contrast.

As for the referee? Inefficient, illogical, pompous and generally appearing to be out of his depth. I would not wish, nor expect to see Scott Duncan refereeing at thios level again.

All in all, Wolves for promotion, but we do need a hungry striker capable of 20-25 goals.

UTW

I missed N101.

We all knew what we were going to get from Cardiff. they have no chance in winning the league. all their players will get suspended or injured if they play like that all season. Newcastle lost a fair few games and still walked it. we are a new new team with players not used to the rough and tumble of our devision. no panic. viva le revolution!

I believe a goalie should be a priority on transfer list; thought with our dealings our defence would be more solid and though we've only shipped a few goals, overall the posts and bad finishing has saved us. UTW!

Ffs Miranda and Boly were crap yesterday not Ruddy! Do u go to the games?

20 Aug 2017 21:28:10
A goallie? He makes one slip in 4 games, already saved a number of certainties and you want a goallie?

20 Aug 2017 21:54:29
It doesn't take long for people to start to moan.

{Ed033's Note - Are you moaning about people moaning? 😋

20 Aug 2017 22:42:48
Ruddy did well but should have been been beaten from there between his legs but he is solid. I agree with you PT I don't know why Boly went for an air rubbish back heel that led to the goal. He is great going forward but him and Miranda looked all over the place at the back yesterday. Douglas looked tired too.

20 Aug 2017 22:48:49
If it wasn't for ruddy it would have been 5-1 not 2-1 . Go to spec savers.

20 Aug 2017 22:56:19
Ruddy didn't exactly cover himself in glory with the second goal P. T. May not go to every game but how should that prevent me from my observations.? Surely we're allowed our say, it is a forum afterall, get off your box.

22 Aug 2017 15:38:12
Ruddy has been brilliant in every game so far. One mistake and you think we should get another keeper? The guy is one of our stellar signings!

22 Aug 2017 16:44:28
Agree wolfie.

20 Aug 2017 15:13:44
So Warnock said a "big mouth" called out "Warnock you've no chance today". Must have been talking to himself as he has the biggest mouth in football, even outdoes Brian Clough RIP.

we lose we move on
referee needs to have a word with himself
we will bounce back from this
if you offered me that we will be third in the league after 4 games I would have only halfed believed you
I predict we will lose to Southampton on Wednesday 4-1
pauldaniels will be hailed a clairvoyant

Anyone got a link to extended highlights of yesterdays game please?

20 Aug 2017 08:59:07
Its no good bellyaching. we all knew how they were going to play but the ref was dire. good luck to them but I couldn't watch that every week
What I'd give for that zahore though.

19 Aug 2017 23:28:11
Had a feeling Cardiff we're going to burst our bubble. Need to kick on a Brentford next weekend go there and put 3 or 4 in the net to get us back on the horse. We looked no where near as good today. Hopefully next week we go back to playing how we know we can!

20 Aug 2017 09:26:19
They beat us fair and square, it may have been unpleasant to watch, but all of us Wolves fans and Nuno knew how it would pan out. Lesson learnt, move on and build on the experience.
Anyone who was at Hull would have seen, we can dish it out just as well as Cardiff did to us, no complaints.
Onwards and Upwards.

If your'e top of the league at this stage your'e continually looking over your shoulder, we've got a target to aim for now, a great incentive.
