Zenga already a legend in my book. Just watched a snippet on bbc where he claims wolves are the biggest English team in Italy. Must have forgotten us in the Anglo Italian cup when says we only played in the uefa cup against Italians lol.

That article about Zenga saying Wolves biggest club for Italians appeared on Fox Soccer site and is quite amusing. Here's the snippet:

In his introductory press conference, Zenga said he decided to take the Wolverhampton job because: "Why not? Wolves are the biggest team for us in Italy. "

Sorry, what?

"This club all the time is in our mind, " Zenga went on. "Even though the club play only one time against an Italian club, it is a very, very important club. "

That's right, folks. When Italians think of English football, it's not Manchester United, Arsenal or Liverpool, or even the nouveau-rich Chelsea or Manchester City who come to mind first. It's Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Never mind that Wolves have spent just four of the last 32 seasons in the English top flight. Don't worry about the fact no single Italian has ever been at the club before. If Zenga says so, it must be true.

Look, it's totally understandable to want to coddle your new employers and sweet-talk the fan base as much as possible. Being liked is kind of important. But so is not being a total buffoon, and that's exactly what Zenga looks like for claiming WOLVERHAMPTON are Italy's favorite English team.

That's almost as wild as 16 jobs in 18 years. Ever consider going into comedy, Walter?

I cannot believe what I'm reading. The new Manager has only just taken his first training session. The new signings have not even kicked a ball in anger. Fosum seem to want to get players in but it's still not good enough! Give them chance for gods sake. Would you prefer it under Morgan, Moxley and Jackett? Get behind the new team and let's see what they can do. If by Xmas and we are in the bottom half, then moan. Until then UTW.

I doubt it - Silvio bought out his Athletico contract (no doubt with his signing on fee which won't count against FFP unlike a transfer fee! ) If you really think that was less than the £300K Walsall have spent then you obviously don't have a clue what sort of wage he'd have been on.

How about we give the new manager a chance and the new players, whether they be loans or permanent signings.

There is negativity and reality, reality is not a new idea as it reflects both the present and the past. However I have renewed my season ticket, and will continue to support as I have done for 50 years. I am merely stating the facts as they stand at the moment but I would question the aspirations and confidence of players who are only committing themselves for a season.

Be honest Oxley, would you sign yourself up to a 3 yr contract seeing how the club has been ran down over the recent seasons, these players ain't daft, they have aspirations and careers to protect, they are being careful, if the current regime start getting things right off and on the pitch then players will see it happening and be more inclined to commit in the future.
The team ain't kicked a ball in anger yet'post KJ and already people are writing them off.

I'm concerned about the short term nature of the deals too, at least Silva who we've bought, but maybe that's the thing with a project, right now it's all talk so the players are too cautious to sign for longer? We are still Chump and up until this, recently at least just also-rans from a provincial town and now with a cheapo shirt sponsor too.

But it also proves Fosun must be talking big to these players to convince them at all, and I think we can be confident Fosun have the means and will make a real effort to deliver on that big talk.

And maybe as we get more flash players it will become easier to get further ones, as they see other people believe in and commit themselves to the project and it gains momentum.

Apparently according to a source I'd seen, it is the former Liverpool teixera we're getting, so it could just be Porto have bought him but want him to play a bit more elsewhere for experience first.

Joao teixeira signs on loan for year, having just watched this lad on youtube he is quality! Trust me, his passing and movement are way better than anything we have at present, not to mention his goal scoring aswell. Take alook people, exiting times ahead! Please, not a moan, I'm as excited as the next man, but with money allegedly no major barrier (within reason of course), with Ross McCormack available, why does it appear we're more likely getting Nugent, and similarly, instead of Pritchard we're getting couple of Portugese loan players, neither of whom could hold down a first team position? Yes, there's only just over a week gone, but no time constraints on getting 3 mediocre players who probably/ possibly not much improvement.? Do we need a reality check? Or are these marquis signings really going to happen.?
