Allardyce (DOF) and Clark (head coach). Big Sam is well documented as big Wolves fan and does not leave a stone unturned when setting lasting foundations. Lee Clark is young, ambitious, if a little lacking in transfer market. As earlier message Big Sam's job at WHU maybe safe for now though will leave as not enjoying life in London. Lee Clark cannot leave before end of season or loses generous settlement agreed on leaving HFC. Should this fall through Rudge (DOF) and Driscoll are on radar.
Understanding Is that small budget available for signings (Steven Carr, Matty Taylor - two who will be targeted by Big Sam), tied with building on foundations set with academy inclusive of bringing the current bunch through to the first team with focus giving longevity to club on and off the field success and utilising resources such as the ageing sources to settle them without leaving team vunerable in their quest. The new DOF also will act as link between club and fans - hence wanting a Wolves man.
2012-13 needs to be a new start on the field and must match success off it. It maybe this takes anything to 5 years but when we are back it will be different.

Wont be different unless morgan and moxey have gone

Any of these posts got ane substance in your view Ed? {Ed001's Note - not as far as I am aware.}

We should have been building when in the prem not now we are out of it say it again morgan/ moxley are a joke

Can anyone please tell me how this is Morgan's fault?

Well firstly, you'd need to be a wolves fan and then we could take it from there.

Last season we just stayed up but we knew we were lucky and team was not good enough.we expected big changes in the team but instead we got a new stand. mick had to go results were poor but morgan waited for the transfer window to close before sacking him because if the window was stil open the new manager would want new players and that would cost money that morgan wanted for himself.then he appoints conner who has never been a manager to save more money.this all proves money is all he wants and hes not interested in our team at all.

Morgans firm built the stand so cost him next to nothing.if he makes money building houses he will make money on the stand.

No they haven't built the stand Buckingham group have done the stand he owns redrow and bridgemere. Cost us £16 million for the stand.

I am a wolves fan for over 40 years and a season ticket holder. I also followed the wolves home and away when we were in the old 3rd division

Thought that the player money pot was a different one from the redevelopment pot or is that wrong?

Ok so morgans firm didnt build stand but probabley one of his mates firms did.he would still have done adeal and will still make loads of money from it. jobs for the boys.

90% of the tradesmen working on the new north bank were not employed by the buckingham group they were subcontracted through redrow who were held on a retainer by mr morgan with house building slow he mere'ly transfered his workforce to another employer to save laying us off

They did the Amex stadium for Brighton aswell.

It's been confirmed that Hennessey is out for 6 months.
DB

Shall we just say all our best players (not a long list) are long term injured to keep all predators at bay?

Wished he had been injured at start of season then we would have been forced to get a decent keeper in and we just might have survived

They grow on trees don't they decent keepers, for every WH howler chuck in a Stearman Berra Johnson blunder, I'm afraid we are going to be left watching as he moves on! he's still young for a keeper

If it wasn't for Wayne we'd have been down last season at Blackburn 3 nil down makes a great save to deny Roberts making it 4. Also we'd have lost at arsenal and QPR this season and many others. Every keeper makes mistakes.

Wolves must look at some older heads for next year so we can bounce back first time of asking.

Though decisions will be made by the new DOF after consulting head coach. Those I think should be considered - Jaaskelinen from bolton, Carr from blues, Le Fondre from reading, Taylor from west ham, Naylor from Cardiff.

Starters XL: Jaaskelinen, Carr, Bathh, Craddock, Naylor, Kightly, Guiedoira, Foley, Taylor, Ebanks-Blake, Le Fondre - Reserves: McLeary, Stearman, Elokobi, Davis, Edwards, Vokes

Carr is 36 so is Jussi Jääskeläinen ,Taylor is 31 so is Naylor they hardly fit the young & hungry bill.

Your having a laugh foyle in midfield you ain`t at many games this year he`s been tried there and has been a disaster a right back at best

You do need some old heads the spine of the team should have the experience and know how dave jones wasnt my cup of tea but he got that right in the champ

Foley is miles better rightback than carr

Allardyce to Wolves ? Gus Poyet ? the list goes on..

Think we'l have a good list of candidates some mediocre and some not in this lifetime, most will get us promoted tgen maybe survive who's gonna get us to kick on to pl security

We have had enough trouble spelling Terry Connor/ Connors/ Conner, Adlene Geudioura/ Guardioula and Jez Moxey/ Moxley - How we Wolves fans will deal with "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer" I do not know.
DB

Just call him o.g.s which stands for organisation . guile . strategy

Or BFA

Morgan should make an appointment now so the manager can have a good look at what he is taking on. However he can't because the new manager is with a club and won't jump ship. The new manager has done this before and openly says it's the worst mistake of his career. The new manager will be Ian Holloway. FACT.

I'm a bit conscious about Holloway, he's a great character and has worked wonders at Blackpool. I admit to not knowing much about how he manages there'll be more money available at Wolves and we can't get stuck again with a manager with no kind of scouting system. There are other names I'd prefer to be honest.
DB

Last time it seemed like we were just going out for any manager who'd say yes. We should either be looking for a manager who's experienced and been there before or a younger manager playing a more modern style of football.

Type 1
- Curbishley
- Alladyce
- Zola

Type 2
- Poyet
- OGS
- Lee Clark

I think it depends on the situation the team and club will be in after the exodus of players but those are the managers I'd be happy with.
DB

I think you are taking a massive chance with your type 2 lot.
I really do think it will be a manager already with a club. Who is going to release unwanted players from the youth set up? Who is going to make decisions on bids coming in for players? Surely not TC unless he is staying. Jez will think he is important enough to but should stay out of footballing matters ( in fact stay out of Wolverhampton )
The manager should be appointed now so he can assess exactly what he has got and hit the ground running. Again this adds fuel to my theory that it is somebody with a club who won't commit until the end of the season.

I agree that it's a massive risk and part of me is beginning to sway towards Zola, something that's surprised me. I think he'd be willing to work with a DOF like Wilkins - history at Chelsea - or as manager.

He can use the time in the championship to build a team and as a lot of West Ham fans said when they brought him in after Curbishley was that he plays good football and was brilliant at integrating the youth set up and the first team. Also what Championship and lowest tier premier league players wouldn't want to play for the Zola, the man's a football legend.
DB

I'd be disappointed if it was Holloway would always wonder what if, likeable honest guy but championship level at best no shame in that but we're looking to build on MM scrapping to keep us up, if anyone can convince otherwise, we're open to the right man

They may want to play for him, but great players often don't make great managers. I think of Hoddle, Robson, Gullit etc. Often managers that weren't great players do well, Ferguson,Wenger, Moriniho ( spelling ) and now a new bunch Pardew, Rodgers, Lambert ( accept he won champions league medal ). I think Holloway could fall into this category given a chance at a better club than Blackpool ( with respect ). He will bring an exciting brand of football and respects the fans. He once offered to buy every Plymouth fan a pint who travelled to a particular away game and the team had played badly.

Do you not think the new manager is not aware of what he will have in my opinion the new man knows who he is and what he needs its all cloak and dagger

Im not keen on holloway he likes the sound of his own voice too much

Holloway or Clarke would be a very last resort if we couldn't pull of someone of better calibre

Judge a manager on results not if they rabbit on to much. Some of the best managers love going on ( B.Clough, J.Morinho ).
Agree about maybe a manager of better calibre but I don't think they are out there or would come.
We may have to chance our arm and for me that says look at somebody who is currently over achieving ( Holloway ) Clarke didn't.
I really do think Holloway is the next Rodgers or Lambert. Youngish with plenty to prove. He needs the stage to do it on.

Holloway best man for the job all he needed was a defence at Blackpool and they would still be in the prem. Took every game to there opponents and scored loads of goals but they did concede plenty too.

Lambert is an intelligent guy, as a footballer and as a manager. His Euro medal was with Borussia Dortmund if memory serves, having transfered from Motherwell! Anyhow, he has slowly worked his way into the prem. Certainly no flash-in-the-pan.

There seems to be a bit of a thing for getting a so called big name ex footballer. Clark, Di Canio, Wilkins, Ince or a big name manager Big Sam, Bruce etc. These people have little to prove in the game as we have seen in the past with Hoddle.
So why not take a chance on somebody with everything to prove. Again this seem to be where a lot of top managers come from, Fergie Wenger, Morinho.
I think Holloway is hungry to achieve something and given the resource will do so.

Ok just hoping the only reason he installed Connor was because the man he wants won't take the job until the end of season hopefully curbishley he's the man who can take us up and keep us up Morgan has been at success at everthing he has done so let's keep the faith

Dipstick morgan will keep its getting better connors in i bet

Break the bank Morgan! Get us Claudio Ranieri!!

Break the silence Morgan. Get us a manager!

Ranieri is probably Italian for Allardyce. Look, we ain't going to get anyone of international standard - why should we? Someone like Sven or Villas-Boas is about as good as we could hope for in that league.

Interesting to note that in recent seasons clubs that have been promoted and have done well tend to have less experienced managers. Watch out for Reading next year, after Norwich and Swansea this year. Sunderland too under Keane. QPR under Warnock wasn't good.
